Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 521: Volume 6 Chapter 20 Phantom Stream

According to the serial number on the engine and the designer’s initials, Fatty quickly found this madman who tried to miniaturize battleship-grade engines a hundred years ago in the central computer.

As soon as he saw the name of this madman in the computer, Tian Xingjian was startled. Not only was this name very familiar to him, but most Federation people who had attended elementary school and passed history class would also know it.

Casper, Chairman of the National Academy of Sciences Union, recipient of the highest achievement medal in the world of human science, and winner of the Einstein Physics Prize. The most renowned scientist of the Leray Federation in the past three hundred years, a world-class scientific genius.

This was a household name, occupying a very important position in the history of the Leray Federation. Known as a national treasure-level scientist. At Casper’s commendation ceremony, President Austin once delivered a speech that has been praised until now.

Austin’s exact words were: ”Mr. Casper is the glory of the Leray Federation. His wisdom is the most precious wealth of all humanity. The value of his life far exceeds mine, because in the 180 years of Federation independence, there have been thirty-three presidents. But the only scientist to receive the highest achievement medal and the Einstein Physics Prize is Mr. Casper. Let us salute him.”

President Austin’s words were not exaggerated in the slightest.

With his achievements, Casper consolidated his position as the most significant scientific figure in the Federation in the past three hundred years. Not only did he make astounding contributions in scientific research, but more importantly, he trained a large number of students who were dedicated to research, obsessed with science, and highly productive.

And these people almost all became giants in the Leray Federation’s scientific community. Among them was Professor Boswell’s teacher, the designer of the Second Generation Magic Beast Mecha, and the Federation Mecha design genius, Dr. Hill.

At that time, the relatively backward technology and education of Leray were almost wholly upgraded to a level on par with some major countries, thanks to Casper’s individual effort.

In less than thirty years, the productivity brought by technological transformation elevated the economy and national strength of the Leray Federation by more than one level. From a small country, it became a medium-sized country. Especially in the military, Casper and his students accumulated a substantial technological reserve for Leray, becoming the pillar of Leray’s national defense. Such achievements are inimitable.

It can be said that every field, every corner, and every person in the Leray Federation benefited from Casper. He influenced Leray for nearly sixty years. Even now, in many places, Casper’s shadow can still be felt. The scientific education legacy he left behind is the Leray Federation’s most valuable treasure.

This ninety-seven-year-old man, who passed away ninety years ago, was revered as a scientist more worthy of protection than the President. However, what impressed ordinary people the most wasn’t his achievements but a series of fascinating anecdotes from his life.

Casper was a giant in science and a romantic. His handsome looks, healthy physique, and wise mind were perfectly embodied in him. Such a man was irresistible to women. What moved women the most was Casper’s personality, which wasn’t dull despite his focus on research. On the contrary, he was humorous and charming, even more dazzling than the most famous movie stars at the time.

That was an era when women were crazy about Casper, and Casper was crazy about women. The Leray Federation practiced monogamy. Casper, in order to marry his five girlfriends simultaneously, applied for citizenship in the Jiepeng Empire.

When applying for citizenship, the young Casper had already shown promise. Such a person’s application gave Jiepeng Empire no reason to reject, and the approval was completed in less than three days, granting Casper Jiepeng citizenship status.

Casper held a wedding in Jiepeng, had an incredibly sweet honeymoon with his five wives, stayed there for almost half a year, and then moved back to the Leray Federation with his entire family.

Returning to the Federation, Casper did not apply to rejoin Leray citizenship. For him, being focused on scientific research, disliking being an official, and never voting in elections, knowing he was a Leray person was enough.

Moreover, by the sixth year after he returned and won the Einstein Physics Prize, the various troubles caused by his nationality were no longer an issue. So, it wasn’t until he was seventy years old, when he married his sixth wife, that people realized this Leray Federation national treasure was not a Leray citizen.

The old Casper finally became a Leray citizen again. His six wives spent a lifetime with him, never leaving. Before Casper passed away, the wives who married him earliest had already successively departed, which was a significant blow to him. After he passed away, his final wife, a beauty pageant queen nearly fifty years younger than him, also died in grief.

Casper was a legend. He was also Tian Xingjian’s idol.

Fatty still remembers distinctly; during the history class in his childhood, the teacher was passionately narrating Casper’s illustrious deeds while he was spacing out, staring at the computer’s bizarre tales of Casper, and finally getting into trouble.

”Wow. This old man had six wives!” The shocked and delighted little Fatty had naively declared in class, ”Idol! From today on, he’s my idol!... I’ll also marry so many wives.”
