Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 528: Volume 6 Chapter 22 You’re Cheating!_2

The two of them stood in the center of the field, ready for a confrontation, which had already attracted the attention of both groups of spectators. As soon as Belinda finished speaking, the cadets from Capital First Military Academy began to clamor. After all, their side clearly had the advantage in strength, so they felt confident and their words became increasingly sharp.

There were ultimately fewer cadets from Gallipalan College, and everyone was feeling uncertain at the moment. Although they were retorting, they were indeed a bit embarrassed inside.

Wang Fuxing glanced around, knowing that dragging it out wouldn’t help. Anyway, whether he stuck his neck out or pulled it in, it would be the same. He decided to show some macho spirit first, figuring he could come up with a way to recover if they lost. Gritting his teeth, he turned and walked toward the Simulation Cabin.

At this moment, two figures suddenly swept past like a gust of wind, blurring everyone’s vision, and one of them had already dived into the Simulation Cabin.

The whole crowd was stunned. Although this competition had no set order for participants, it was clear from Gallipalan College’s behavior that there had been a communication breakdown during their strategizing. No one knew who this wild-haired, crazy man who had stormed into the gym earlier was.

Wang Fuxing, Catherine, Angel, and even a bunch of Radish Heads—all eyes were on the freckled face that was now breathing heavily. Their gazes were filled with anticipation, joy, and disbelief. All these conflicting emotions mixed together in a moment of silence.

Christopher smiled smugly and nodded!

”Wow!” The happiness came so suddenly that everyone, including a few girls, jumped up at once, hugging each other wildly, high-fiving, and cheering without a care in the world.

The whole gym was in an uproar. Everyone was dumbfounded by the dozen or so people cheering and celebrating in the middle of the field.

The match hadn’t even started yet—had these lunatics gone mad?

Wang Fuxing pulled up the panting Christopher, overjoyed, ”Quick, tell us how you found the instructor?”

Christopher caught his breath and was about to speak when he heard Belinda’s voice from not far away, ”What are you up to now, are you playing or not?”

”Playing, of course!” Wang Fuxing turned and smiled at Belinda, ”Since you’re so eager to lose five to zero, we’ll certainly oblige.”

”Hahaha.” As if hearing the funniest joke in the world, Belinda and the cadets standing next to her couldn’t help but laugh. Even Thomas and Cosmo exchanged amused glances.

One of the cadets beside Belinda clutched his stomach and said to Wang Fuxing, ”We really can’t beat your boasting, I guess we’ll have to lose five to zero.”

”Oh, really?” Angel, who was standing next to Wang Fuxing, smiled radiantly, ”Then just wait and see. This time, if you win even one match, we’ll count it as our loss!” With that, she waved her hand, and all the cadets from Gallipalan College walked out of the contestant area in perfect harmony. Angel laughed, ”We only need one person for this match.”

Angel’s words caused an uproar. Even some of their own students, who didn’t know what was happening, thought Angel’s statement was way too arrogant towards Capital First Military Academy.

”Let’s begin!” Belinda felt she couldn’t communicate with these lunatics, so she immediately waved her hand, ”We’ll see about your boasting after the match.”

On the central virtual screen, a blue Training Mecha had already appeared. Opposite it, Tyler’s Red Mecha was ready for action.

This was a blank training map. Neither side’s Mecha had any long-range weapons or special equipment, and there was no terrain to exploit on the map. This fight would purely test their Mecha control abilities.

”So, what’s going on?” Wang Fuxing asked, nudging Christopher with his elbow while staring at the virtual screen.

Christopher scratched his head sheepishly, ”Originally, I didn’t have much hope. After waiting for ages with no action, I was about to come over and watch the match. But as soon as I walked a bit, the 6th Comprehensive Building suddenly started making a racket...”

”What racket? Does it have anything to do with the instructor?” Catherine asked curiously from the side.

Christopher’s face showed a strange expression, and he smiled bitterly, ”How could it not? It has everything to do with him! I heard the noise getting louder and didn’t know what was happening, so I stood by the roadside to see. Then, the noise grew even louder and came rushing towards me.”

Angel handed a glass of water and urged, ”And then? And then?”

”Then, I saw many professors and researchers running towards us with sticks and brooms...” Christopher said after taking a sip of water, ”I was puzzled when suddenly someone pulled me into the bushes by the roadside.”

”It was the instructor!” Wang Fuxing’s eyes lit up.

”You guessed it.” Christopher nodded, ”It turns out the professors and researchers were chasing him. I asked him what he did, but he wouldn’t say.”

”That’s because our instructor respects the elderly and cares for the young!” Charlie scoffed from the side, ”Forget those professors with zero combat skills, even if they were all Special Soldiers, our instructor could still beat them up!”

”I thought so too.” Christopher said, ”But the instructor looked really distressed and anxious.”

”Hmph!” Catherine suddenly snorted, ”No need to ask, that Fatty must have been caught harassing women!”
