Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 531: Volume 6, Chapter 24: He’s a Spy?

The gymnasium was in an uproar. How could the students at the academy be unfamiliar with such etiquette? Every day, they repeated the same gestures towards their teachers to express their gratitude and reverence.

Respecting teachers and valuing their teachings was a universal principle in this extremely competitive era, one that applied to every Star Domain and corner of human society.

To gain the wisdom and skills necessary for survival and to have enough room for development, one must possess sufficient professional skills and knowledge. A high-level and responsible teacher could help students grow even more than their parents.

A teacher’s level of expertise and sense of responsibility determined the future of their students. An exceptional skill or a dedicated guidance session could benefit a student immensely.

For many, entering the tutelage of a famous teacher had become the most important starting point in their life’s journey.

Military strategists, Mechanics, artists, Mech Knights, even chefs—regardless of the profession, a good teacher was essential to excel. They could not only provide advice and guidance but also lay a foundation in networking, resources, and opportunities that ordinary people couldn’t imagine within their field.

Consider that even the Gazalin Royal Family was overjoyed that Stephen could study under Liebgoet. This even influenced Stephen’s standing in the battle for the Crown Prince. Many nobles who initially had no expectations of Stephen began to support him from that time.

With this in mind, one could imagine how shocked the students were when they saw two Mecha Knights from Free Port standing respectfully outside the simulation cabin, waiting for their opponent with the courtesy of a student to a teacher.

Especially the always-smiling young man—he was a Level 1 Mecha Knight!

Possessing exceptionally advanced Mechanical Control Technology in this era made one highly sought after, something even a three-year-old knew. It was no exaggeration to say that this Level 1 Knight named Cosmo himself was the dream teacher of every student aspiring to become a Mech Knight here!

But now, he was humbly waiting for someone else to appear.

What made Belinda, Taylor, and the others feel bitter was that this Level 1 Knight, who hadn’t even entered the simulation cabin, had decisively lowered his status, indicating that he had been thoroughly conquered by the Mech Knights invited by that group of Radish Heads. It also meant that Belinda’s accusations of the opponent cheating were unfounded.

For the Capital First Military Academy, this was even more humiliating than losing zero to five!

The pride they had relied on was so insignificant in the face of a stronger opponent. It was a terribly bitter feeling. If not for witnessing Thomas’s impressive skills, if not for Thomas’s respectful attitude towards this young man, Belinda might have suspected that this Level 1 Knight was a fraud!

As a result, all the students, including her, couldn’t suppress their curiosity about the mysterious opponent.

”Perhaps the person inside the simulation cabin isn’t from Gallipalan College. After all, it’s unlikely the Leray Federation could produce such experts. Even if there were one or two, it wouldn’t just so happen to be someone from Gallipalan College.” Belinda and Taylor stared bitterly at the opponent’s simulation cabin, consoling themselves.

”No one else wants to fight?” After a long time, a voice came from inside the simulation cabin. The Mech Knight inside seemed puzzled: ”Weren’t we supposed to have five matches? We’ve only had two.”

The thousands of watching students exchanged bitter smiles, each thinking: ”The two strongest Mecha Knights here have already been beaten to the point of bowing outside the simulation cabin. Who else would dare to fight you? Taylor and the others? That wouldn’t be bravery; that’d be asking for a beating!”

Just as silence fell, suddenly, the gymnasium doors were pushed open, and a group of professors, researchers with brooms, wooden sticks, and glass bottles, and a dozen school security guards soldiers rushed in from the entrance.

”What’s going on?” Everyone on site was stunned, and the scene immediately became chaotic.

”Please remain calm and stay seated. We are now on emergency lockdown.” The security team leader, who was at the forefront, directed the soldiers to control every row of seats, while loudly announcing.

”Verify everyone’s identity.” The Chief of Security of the academy strode to the center of the gym and ordered: ”We must find the spy who sabotaged the military laboratory!”

”The military laboratory was sabotaged by a spy!”

This news immediately caused a commotion. The Military Academy was a second-level military unit, but the military laboratory at the academy was a top-level military unit. During wartime, the destruction of the military laboratory was a matter of utmost seriousness.

”So the instructor was up to this!” The Radish Heads looked at each other in confusion, unsure how the Fatty instructor had a grudge against the military laboratory.

”Instructor, what do we do?” Wang Fuxing, ignoring the presence of the two outsiders, whispered hurriedly.

”What do we do?” Fatty had no solution and angrily said: ”We agreed on the terms; this is your problem. Anyway, I fought for you, so you have to protect me.”

Wang Fuxing looked anxious: ”But, sir, you must give us some advice.”

”I don’t care, I’m staying in here and not coming out!” Fatty was being stubborn.

Listening to their conversation, Cosmo and Thomas looked at each other, bewildered and unsure of what was happening.
