Chapter 526: Volume 6 Chapter 21 Five-Win System_2

In desperation, the Smith family decided to take a different approach. They wanted to know where this Mecha Fighter had come into contact with the Phantom Flow Technique. Was he the only one in the Leray military who knew it, or did his entire team as well?

As a result, the exchanges between the Griffin Knights and Leray’s civilian Mecha Fighting Halls increased significantly, to the point of being almost constant recently.

Although the Smith family didn’t hold much sway in the top-tier fighting world, and the Phantom Flow had fallen into decline, the Griffin Knights had stood tall in the Free Port Alliance for over a hundred years, with numerous branches across the galaxy.

For these ordinary Mecha Fighting Halls in Leray, any member of the Griffin Knights was an absolute master. Typically, they would have to pay to invite such experts for friendly exchanges, so no one would refuse this opportunity.

Especially the young people aspiring to join the military were overjoyed. Recently, the military had started to place importance on close-quarter combat, recruiting many civilian experts from the Simulated War Network. The highly skilled ones often entered the army as high-ranking officers.

If they could learn a few moves from the Mecha Masters from Free Port, it would greatly benefit their future careers!

Cosmo and Thomas were sent by the family a week ago. After Cosmo had several dull exchanges with other Fighting Halls and met a few Mecha Fighters from the Leray military, he was left with only disappointment.

As the future successor of the Phantom Flow, no one was more eager than Cosmo to find the core techniques. So, when Thomas mentioned a competition at the military academy, he immediately decided to go and see.

Taylor, Belinda, and others walked out of the wide gates of the Capital First Military Academy.

Taylor actually didn’t want others to participate in this competition. However, it concerned the reputation of all the students at the Capital First Military Academy, and the annoying group from Gallipalan College made it hard not to get angry, so he didn’t explicitly oppose it.

Especially after learning that the one coming to assist them was a senior who had been in the master-filled Free Port for nearly ten years, Taylor felt it necessary to give him a proper welcome as a member of a respected family.

Free Port had always been a holy land in Taylor’s heart.

Introduced by the student who invited Thomas, they met and exchanged pleasantries. All the students of the first academy, including Taylor, couldn’t hide their excitement.

Initially, they believed having a Level 3 Mecha Knight from Free Port assisting was already impressive. But to their surprise, the senior brought along a Level 1 Mecha Knight!

This was a Level 1 Mecha Knight from Free Port! Compared to the civilian Mecha Knights in Leray, there was simply no comparison! In close-quarter combat, even a Level 9 Mecha Fighter or a civilian Mechanical Commander from Leray might not be able to beat him.

Everyone knew that the titles of Mecha in Free Port were not awarded through selection; they were earned through real, hard-fought battles!

Although this gentle young man named Cosmo was not a student of the academy, his title as a Level 1 Mecha Fighter alone was enough to excite everyone! Even if the cunning group from Gallipalan invited experts who were not students, they would only surrender in the face of a Level 1 Mecha Knight.

So, when the excited students of the first academy escorted Cosmo and Thomas into the gymnasium, they looked at the Gallipalan students with endless pity. They wondered if the mere revelation of Cosmo’s rank would turn the Gallipalan students pale with fear and make them kneel in surrender.

Belinda even bet with her companions, ”If our academy loses this match, I’ll write my name backwards!”

The academy gymnasium was packed to capacity.

Whether from the Capital First Military Academy or from the various departments relocated here from Gallipalan, almost every student and professor who could come, was here.

The competition between the two academies had evolved from minor skirmishes to a grand event. The students’ contests were even more thrilling than the officially organized friendly matches. After all, the school-selected team members’ participation in the competitions didn’t match up to the excitement of unrestricted matches involving top forces, including instructors.

This kind of spirited competition made people’s blood boil.

Seeing the contemptuous looks from Belinda and others in the opponent’s selection area, the students from Gallipalan College looked dispirited.

Even the usually arrogant Radish Heads were now acting sullen.

Within the various departments of the academy, they’d tried finding everyone they could. There were so few skilled in Mecha Fighting that they could be counted on one hand. Except for a veteran who was a Level 7 Mecha Fighter, which was a pleasant surprise, the others were only at training camp level.

Ironically, even the Radish Heads who frequently mixed around the Simulated War Network could dominate here. Besides the Command Department, the relocated departments mainly focused on logistics management or scientific research. They were not adept at combat.

Counting their best, the Radish Heads managed to find a decent Mecha Controller like Catherine. Still, they couldn’t form a formidable team.

On the other hand, their opponent brought out a heavy hitter.

The instructors had not shown up, and many seniors interning in the labs were asked to spare time, but still no news. The only hope was the mercenary Catherine managed to hire.

However, the mercenary they managed to hire with great difficulty was only at the top tier of Level 7, and dishearteningly, his skillset was based on long-range attacks. Give him a Mecha without missiles or an Energy Cannon, and he could only show a few moves.

The competition used an unrestricted five-win system. This meant no limit on participants or the number of matches a single person could play. The first to win five matches would claim victory.

This format left no room for the Radish Heads! Strategies like ’Tian Ji’s Horse Racing’ wouldn’t work. Their opponent could potentially sweep them in five matches singlehandedly. If that happened, Gallipalan Military Academy’s reputation would be utterly shattered! Almost as bad as the ancient Chinese men’s football team!

So, the Radish Heads were extremely worried.

At this point, they could only treat a dead horse as if it were alive, and whatever happened, they had to fight. The Radish Heads did their best to stand tall and look somewhat imposing.
