Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 100: Chapter 91: Minions Gather

Gao Gong is fierce with a blade, but he’s actually quite cautious.

For instance, he knew that the original host was ambushed—absolutely not an accident—yet he hasn’t investigated deeply. The reason? Simple. At that time, he was too weak, and the chances of revenge were slim.

Similarly, he’s aware of the Knight Order’s schemes, like command post locations, biological factory distributions, and which people and forces would side with the Knight Order in the future.

But instead of playing Zhuge Liang with fortune telling, fanning the flames, and borrowing strength to hit harder, he just diligently completed tasks and increased his transformation rate.

Another example, even when the Security Corps stole his blueprint and Zhao Mechanism played dirty with him, he merely set traps for them silently.

As someone who could survive until the server shut down in an online game, Gao Gong rarely did anything extremely risky, and in the eyes of others, seemingly dangerous situations were at least seventy to eighty percent under his control.

This guy had the reputation of Lord Guan, but honestly, he shared passions with Cao Cao and ended up walking the path of Sima Yi.

This type of cautious person rarely gets angry, but when he does, it’s mostly something serious.

Few people knew, in the last life as a Civilization Leader, Gao Gong was among the few who dared to confront a ’Celestial Calamity’ head-on, although he got busted with bumps all over, and hundreds of Planet Main Brains were destroyed.

Still, he developed a series of their physical models which sold quite well on the Cosmic Black Market.

This Celestial Calamity wasn’t the Cosmic Calamity, but it was second only to it, a Civilization Celestial Calamity, and the leader of that calamity was a perverse woman called the Blade Queen!

”Steal from my home.”

Gao Gong sat on a rusty metal barrel, tapping his knee with one hand. Although he wore a pleased smile, the two women who knew him well understood that he was currently very angry.

Even the Little Woman, who usually enjoyed bantering with Gao Gong, had quieted down considerably.

It’s not that she liked quietness, but she had annoyed Gao Gong a few times, and the next day, he drew a thick stack of ”books” for her, threatening to send them to others if she provoked him again, like Meng Duoduo, the tribe’s top warrior who had a crush on her.

What the other party would do with the books, well, she didn’t know.

The Little Woman immediately fell to her knees, swearing not to stir up trouble again, and secretly returned home with the books, blushingly reading them all night. The contents were undeniably titillating.

Soon, a figure appeared within the guards’ sight, walking over in a cheerful mood.

”Daisila!!” The Little Woman’s face lit up, quickly moving to greet her.

”Are you okay?” Du Zhaodi also hurriedly asked.

”What’s there to be wrong? I’m feeling great right now.”

On Daisila’s ’Spider Exoskeleton,’ even with extensive thermal burns, her mood was extremely good as she hurled the spider cocoon on her back to the ground with a ’bang.’

”Boss, mission accomplished. Here’s the Flame Knight’s corpse.”

Gao Gong glanced at her, ”How does it feel now?”

”Pretty good!”

The Knight Order’s Modified Knights were Level 20 Elite Monsters, and with her modifications, Daisila broke the Mechanical Hunter’s limits.

The two should have been evenly matched, perhaps the Flame Knight more powerful, considering the higher level of Biomechanical Technology enhancements.

Just as ’the same move cannot be used twice on a Saint.’

The same move, in front of a Mechanical Hunter, would inevitably be broken by the ’Mechanical Hunting Transformation.’

”But boss, this ’Spider Module’ of mine might need some adjustments.”

Daisila didn’t hold back, stripping down directly in front of Gao Gong. The ’Spider Module’ disassembled itself, transforming into a spider the size of a millstone, its eight limbs deftly crawling back to her.

Gao Gong gave her a glance but said nothing. Every inch of her he had measured, many parts personally installed by him; and probably affected by spider habits, she’d developed a peculiar quirk, flaunting her body before the Little Woman whose nose was nearly bleeding.

He bowed his head to examine the ’Spider Module’s’ performance—his first custom-made profession-exclusive equipment which he held in high regard.

Equipment Name: Spider Module

Sigh, if that ’Spider Module’ didn’t cap out so soon, Gao Gong might just snag one for himself.

Generally, according to equipment ranking, Whiteboard (Assembly Line Product), Fine (Custom Template), Excellent (War Weapon), Rare (Strategic Weapons), Epic (Black Technology), Era-defining (Cross-Civilization).

Level 1 Civilization equipment hasn’t reached Rare, and its limit is Level 30.

Once it reaches Rare and beyond (inclusive), it can undergo Civilization Transformation, elevating Level 1 Civilization equipment to Level 2 Civilization equipment.

Level 1 Civilization equipment that hasn’t reached Rare caps at Level 30.

From a sustainable development perspective, these weapons aren’t suitable for Gao Gong.

But even in the Iron Sand Desert, this piece of equipment would be a top-tier item worth fighting over at any weapon shop in the Nightless City.

”How does it feel to use?” Gao Gong asked without looking up.

Daisila energetically answered, explaining that while the modifications worked well, the ’Spider Module’ might not fully match her combat style.

Gao Gong listened carefully, knowing that modifying equipment could enhance his design skills, which would be beneficial for creating a series of ’Hunter Modules’ in the future, hence the more experience, the better.

”Boss, I want that guy’s flamethrower system installed on me.”

Gao Gong glanced at the spider cocoon, then back at her, ”The Knight Order’s modification technology is something I should look into, tinker with it on your own for now, okay?”

Daisila coyly added, ”Come on, boss, help me out here and maybe I’ll accompany you later?”

Du Zhaodi frowned.

Gao Gong replied dismissively, ”I am very professional, wear your clothes back first. I’ll take another look later.”

He wasn’t familiar with the Knight Order’s technology, but he thought there might be information on that topic in some Beastification Factories.

”Boss, we caught someone!”

On the headset, Old Qian’s excited voice came through, though he soon sounded puzzled: ”But, this one’s a bit strange looking.”

”Use the ’Special Effects Machine’ to record a video and send it to me.”

”Alright, I’ll figure out how to use this feature.”

He pressed the ’Electronic Button.’

Soon, something was projected, and everyone stood there, stupefied.

”An Electronic Knight?” Even the usually composed Huang Wen was surprised.

A little girl, bald and tightly bound, appeared before them.

”Is this the real body of the Electronic Knight?” The Little Woman looked utterly bewildered.

”Yes, what’s the matter?”

”Uh, it’s just... really strange.”

”Boss, I got the person!”

Ot Qian’s excited voice echoed through the earpiece, then turned odd, ”But this woman looks a bit strange.”

”Record a session with the ’Special Effects Machine’ and send it over for me to see.”

”Alright, I’ll take a look at how to use this.” Gao Gong pressed the ’Electronic Button.’

Soon, something was projected, leaving everyone stunned.

”This is the real body of the Electronic Knight?” Even the usually calm Huang Wen was a little surprised.

The bare-headed object, tied up in five flowers, stood before them as a small girl.

”Yes, indeed. Is there a problem?”

”Uh, it’s just kind of weird.”

”Boss, shall I release the Mechanical Beasts?”

”Yes, release them. I need people to know I’m not just a pushover Lone Wolf. This time, I’m going to show them that Gao has an army of fangs at his command!”
