Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 84: Chapter 75: Intermediate Worker at Plant No. 3

The frontline is busy, and so is the rear.

As a Prosthetic Doctor, Gao Gong is even more in demand.

Less than ten minutes after the battle started, two subordinates were brought in: one a new face of a Mechanical Hunter and the other a Tribal Warrior.

The Mechanical Hunter’s right prosthetic limb was torn apart by something unknown, with blood, bones, and machinery mixed together.

”Proceed with prosthetic replacement.”

On the operating table, three surgical arms buzzed and hummed. First, a multifunctional disassembly hand removed the broken prosthetic, another surgical arm performed stitching, and the final surgical arm adjusted other mechanical parts.

This Mechanical Hunter’s upper body, above the abdomen, was transformed into a Mechanical Body, with a single touch affecting the whole system.

[Surgery successful, awarded 120 experience points]

”Is there a spare prosthetic?”

”Of course,” the new face quickly handed over the prepared prosthetic arm.

”Boss, could you also enhance me a bit while you’re at it?”

”Which area do you want to enhance?”

”Grip strength of the hand and rotation of the forearm; I’m preparing for close combat.”

”Consider it done.”

Gao Gong spent another ten minutes increasing the grip strength by 20kg and making the forearm system more suitable for close combat weapons.

”Thanks a lot, boss! I’m heading to the battlefield!”

The new face left with a delighted expression, as if getting injured was a fortunate opportunity.

The human body system is extremely complex, and only a Prosthetic Doctor can adjust it. Most implanted prosthetics use the most conservative installation schemes, often not even utilizing half of their potential power.

The other Tribal Warrior had a hole pierced in his thigh. Though not a severe injury, it would take a hundred days to recover from muscle and bone damage, making it hard to return to battle.

The Tribal Warrior looked enviously at the lively departing companion.

”Advisor, I also want to get a prosthetic.”

”You don’t want your thigh anymore?” Gao Gong glanced at him sideways.

”As long as I can gain tremendous power, what’s one leg!” The Warrior was resolute, then chuckled, ”Besides, it’s not the middle leg; I don’t mind.”

”Be patient, just wait a bit longer, and I’ll get you something better,” Gao Gong said with deep meaning.

Not half an hour later, three more clients were brought over.

One had taken three shots from a Gun Beast: two hit his prosthetics, and one hit his chest, fortunately lodged between bones.

Another had a ligament in his biomechanical muscle violently torn.

The third had a damaged electromechanical converter, leading to paralysis in his upper body and a staggering, awkward walk.

For Gao Gong, these weren’t serious problems, and the repairs were smooth, even enhancing performance along the way.

This is the benefit of having a Prosthetic Doctor in the camp.

Most Mechanical Hunters have never enjoyed such treatment.

And from these people’s descriptions, Gao Gong gradually pieced together the battlefield’s appearance.

It was evident that Huang Wen’s tactics were highly effective.

Using the ’Monster-Attracting Divine Artifact’ to draw monsters, the ’Special Effects Machine’ to generate maps, coupled with stronger firepower and more manpower,

his monster-killing efficiency was three times the previous rate.

Gao Gong was not surprised, as players had proven this point in past experiences.

To facilitate treating the wounded, Gao Gong moved the operating room to the first floor, just a step away from the frontline.

Sometimes, looking out the window, he could see various Radiation Beasts running amok.

Although prosthetic surgery doesn’t provide experience as fast as killing monsters, its advantage lies in stability.

And with the frontline warriors having no more worries, they became even more reckless.

Being injured could now mean getting enhanced, an opportunity not available when risking one’s life before.

While performing surgeries, Gao Gong glanced around and soon spotted a large Prey.

It was a large Combat Robot dragged back by a Flying Device.

This large robot was covered with cracks, and its most severe damage was a large chest hole exposing circuit wires as thick as an arm.

A logistics staff shouted into a walkie-talkie, but the other end only rejected the call.

”Shall I take a look?”

Without waiting for rejection, Gao Gong jumped onto the robot’s upper body, using one hand to tear open a piece of torn armor.

Inside, various large-scale electronic components were revealed.

”The combat module is damaged; I wonder if the Combat Chip is intact. As long as it’s not damaged, it’s easily fixed.” Gao Gong turned to him, ”Do you have a spare module?”

The person, recognizing Gao Gong, swallowed and said, ”The repair base is blocked by the Beast Tide, and it’s inaccessible for now.”

”However, I can have repair equipment air-dropped.”

Soon, a Flying Device appeared overhead, air-dropping a metal box. Upon opening it, it contained repair tools for large robots and a ’Combat Processor’ as big as a television.

With complete equipment, repairing robots is actually easier than performing prosthetic surgery.

Fortunately, this robot’s Combat Chip was intact. After Gao Gong removed it and inserted it into the new Combat Processor, the mechanical monster’s eyes quickly lit up.

The Combat Chip resumed operation, and it stood up, rumbling, continuing its mission.

”That’s one hard-working robot,” Gao Gong said, handing over a cigarette. ”What’s your name, brother?”

”Xu, Xuu Tong.”

This logistics staff was taken aback, not understanding why someone with Gao Gong’s super combat prowess wasn’t at the very front, but still, he expressed gratitude for Gao Gong’s help.

After all, not everyone can tear armor with their bare hands.

And from his mouth, Gao Gong learned about the current situation.

The Demon Mountain General divided the entire Automobile City into over ninety ’grids,’ each being a battlefield, with a regional leader responsible for clearing the Radiation Beasts in that area.

Whenever a B-level Radiation Beast appeared, elite forces from nine neighboring ’grids’ would be drawn in for encirclement.

Gao Gong, being a Mechanical Hunter with extreme endurance, was naturally tasked with being the leader of this battlefield.

And when the second phase, the counterattack, began, that’s when he would personally take action.

For now, he only had two tasks: one was to protect the command center hidden in this building, and the other was naturally to create Biological Weapons.

However, it seemed someone was already assisting him with the second task.

”I’ve been to many battlefields, but none as safe as this one,” this logistics staff admired.

Other battlefields were a chaotic mess, but here, all Radiation Beasts were blocked in one combat location.

”Of course, look who my subordinates are,” Gao Gong said humbly.

The walkie-talkie crackled again.

”Xuu Tong, did you just fix an Armed Robot? Can you handle two Large Exoskeletons?”

”No problem, send them over!” Gao Gong answered for him.

Soon, two ’Manipulation Exoskeletons’ were dragged over by a trailer, one missing a mechanical leg on the right, bitten off, and the other had its cockpit destroyed, with a pile of body parts inside.

Gao Gong didn’t waste words, repairing while secretly learning from the other party’s approach.

Every professional task is an opportunity, a hidden reward beyond the task rewards.

Many players just complete tasks without delving deeper into the possibilities.

Amidst the busy process, the walkie-talkie crackled again.

Xuu Tong looked to Gao Gong for help, and without any hesitation, Gao Gong took on any amount that came, and within half a day, a heap of large abandoned parts surrounded him.
