Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 88: Chapter 79: Mechanical Transformation and Biological Transformation (Part 2)

Du Zhaodi thought for a moment, still somewhat reluctant: ”At the very least, let’s catch the mole.”

”A mole? There’s no mole left, or rather, everyone here could be the mole besides me.”

Du Zhaodi glared at Gao Gong.

”Hahaha, don’t look at me like that. Let me put it this way: if a Cyber Hacker invades one of your brains, who among you could resist?”

In Gao Gong’s view, data leakage is inevitable. After all, this isn’t Mechanical City, where you can apply for technical patents. The Security Corps would have a thousand ways to get the transformation data.

In fact, even in the relatively complete patent system of the Mechanical City, espionage wars between giant corporations have never stopped. You use hackers to steal my research data, and I’ll send spies to alter your core technicians’ memory chips, leading your ’product development’ astray.

Many players only realize after ’hanging up’ that, damn, they were manipulated by NPCs.

No wonder they got stuck on a worthless mission.

I treat you as NPC, and you treat me like a worker!?

Are we each doing our own thing?

”Let’s go, let’s scavenge and see if there’s anything valuable among these biological organs.”

Du Zhaodi wrinkled her nose and took a step closer to him, her fair cheeks looking to the other side. Gao Gong immediately understood and intertwined his fingers with hers.

A newly opened large warehouse

Between two rows of enormous and eerie biological organs, Gao Gong and Du Zhaodi strolled as if they were a couple in love amidst the ’commercial street.’

”You’ll be on the battlefield in a few days, be careful.”

”Okay.”

”If you can’t beat them, run. I’m a member of the Mechanical Committee now; I can protect you.”

”Of course.”

Gao Gong glanced outside the window and faintly heard the continuous explosions. It was the Mechanical Bird flock ’laying eggs.’ A mechanical bird egg the size of a basketball has the power equivalent to a 100kg napalm bomb, with an explosion range close to a football field.

The reason for such power is that the life inside the egg generates a low-level energy reaction during incubation, making each egg comparable to an energy bomb.

To bring those few B-level Mechanical Birds in, we have to temporarily give up ’air supremacy,’ which is part of the plan as well.

Due to the impact, most of the factory’s equipment has relocated to the abandoned underground parking garage, including this biological warehouse.

Back in the ’Hunter’s Graveyard,’ Gao Gong obtained seven blueprints: [Big Tree Scythe], [Bone Radiation Corpse Armor], [Demon Horn], [Petrol Flame Whip], [Electronic Bee Eye], [Biological Gun], [Jet Clamp].

The biological materials required for these blueprints, including substitutes, were entirely absent in the materials sent.

A majority consisted of Mechanical Bio-Beast corpses.

According to Professor Han, although the old generation biological implants encompass Radiation Beasts and Mechanical Bio-Beasts, due to the ’mechanical components’ in Mechanical Bio-Beasts, the implantation process can likely cause ’biological rejection’ and ’mechanical rejection,’ leading to a high failure rate.

Therefore, more biological materials used are from Radiation Beasts.

And then the Security Corps sent a heap of Mechanical Beast corpses.

Apparently, Zhao Mechanism’s group’s biological transformation progress is decent; otherwise, they wouldn’t be boasting like this — clearly a trap for us.

Gao Gong clicked his tongue twice and set his gaze on the three ’spiders’ not far away.

”Huh, they actually gathered all three Mutated Spiders.”

The three bodies in front are Mutated Spiders of different types: Turbo Spider from the ’Engine Department,’ Electronic Node Spider from the ’Electrical Network Department,’ and Skin-Stripping Spider from the ’Mutated Radiation Department.’

These three types of spiders are C-Level Beasts, each standing two-stories high.

The Turbo Spider’s ’Turbo Fan’ allows it to hover briefly.

The ’Electronic Spider Eye’ covering the Electronic Node Spider not only offers a 360-degree field of vision but can also trigger ’electromagnetic pulses’ in short bursts, disabling nearby small Mechanical Prey.

Skin-Stripping Spider is a rare humanoid form, half-spider, half-human, voluptuous with spider silk cascading from its head to its waist — strikingly spider-like style, albeit - skin-stripping version.

Its gore extends from human to spider form, with bloodshot eyeballs, crimson upper and lower jaw muscles, and blood-soaked genitals.

Even the typically composed ponytailed girl nearly vomited upon seeing the thing, and Gao Gong had to escort her back to rest.

Among various distorted Radiation Beasts, the ’Mutated Radiation Department’ is considered a fearsome type, strong radioactive content, purely twisted life form.

Other Radiation Beasts somewhat resemble original biological forms, but only this class is complete mutation.

It’s worth mentioning that the newly risen A-level Monster ’Duke of Fission’ is a member of the mutation department.

After numerous twisted growths, it mutated so much even its mother couldn’t recognize it.

Due to the vigorous nuclear fission reactions in its body, ’Mutated Radiation Beasts’ are also nicknamed nuclear fission creatures.

After sending Du Zhaodi off, Gao Gong wandered back alone, staring at the three spider types, deep in thought.

Mechanical Bio-Beasts are unsuitable for biological implantation.

The radiation beasts of the ’mutation department’ are the same.

Gao Gong didn’t intend to do that.

He raised his arm, and the next moment, countless ’blood threads’ grew from his arm pores, extending wider until they spanned two meters, and pierced into the Turbo Spider’s body.

The next second, the spotlight-like spider eyes surprisingly lit up!

Activated Nerve Bundle (Biological Transformation): Power of the Brain-in-a-Vat mutation, can be implanted externally through nerve bundles, activating the neural system of other organisms, enabling control.

The head of the Turbo Spider began to rotate, the searchlights flashing erratically, and the two turbines on its back also started spinning wildly. Amid the intense sound of the fans, the gigantic Mechanical Spider slowly flew into the air.

It can indeed fly.

Gao Gong’s face remained expressionless, but his eyes turned crimson. Upon closer inspection, countless ’blood threads’ were seen swirling in his pupils.

Eye nerves are also part of the neural system.

Time slowly passed by, and the system panel occasionally flashed a line or two of ’biological data.’

[You comprehend the radioactive biological eye structure]

[You comprehend the biological turbine structure]

[You comprehend the jointed sports system]

[You comprehend the touch limb design blueprint]

...

The reason why Mechanical Hunter is a profession with drawbacks, besides the frequently mentioned issues such as the unlit technology tree, biological/mechanical rejection, and the overly personalized nature of hunting transformations, there is another key point—

This profession lacks an ’integration plan merchant.’

Phones can iterate, computers can iterate, combat robots can also iterate.

Theoretically, the ’Mechanical Hunter’ can naturally iterate too, integrating all ’mechanical hunting transformations’ into one Mechanical Hunter module. Solve problems when there are any, or just upgrade the system and apply a patch if there aren’t any.

This is the foundation for solving all the above problems.

Such high-tech talents do exist, but most are concentrated in large corporations.

Moreover, the resources and technology required for the ’mechanical body integration plan’ are astronomical.

Behind every new version of a combat robot, there are definitely dozens of ’failed development versions’ and thousands upon thousands of technical detail adjustments.

This isn’t something the group of bumpkins as Mechanical Hunters can solve.

But while they can’t succeed, Gao Gong can, or rather, ’nature’s’ ghostly craftsmanship can.

These Mechanical Bio-Beasts, as well as Radiation Beasts, are all ’excellent integration plans’ forged through countless cycles of ’survival of the fittest.’

The only difference is that these plans weren’t made for humans.

So the problem is simple, if it’s not made for humans, then let’s not be ’human.’

Gao Gong has always had an open attitude towards ’mechanical perversion,’ oh no, I mean ’mechanical transformation.’

’Transforming Waste into Treasure’ can replace some special biological materials with industrial materials.

’Enhanced Transformation’ can perform transformations on the ’mechanical body.’

Additionally, the integration plans provided by the Mechanical Bio-Beasts.

Mix them together, and it becomes the ’Mechanical Hunter Exclusive Module.’

The three spiders altogether presented Gao Gong with more than thirty kinds of ’partial transformation plans.’ The only ripple in the process was when the nerve bundles were inserted into the Skin-Stripping Spider, Gao Gong punched himself with three ’Enhanced Radiation Needles.’

The opponent’s body was terrifyingly ’fiery.’

After integrating the data, Gao Gong found Professor Han to develop the first version of the ’Spider Hunter Module.’

During the development gap, Gao Gong glanced at a few ’old biological weapons’ in the ’nutrient tank.’

The ’Giant Blood Vessel’ had grown to eight meters long.

The ’Blade Wolf Chopper’ had regained the luster of a giant biological blade.

The ’Weapon Severed Limb’ hand was flexibly rotating.

The ’Motor Beast’ was ’buzzing’ in the water.

These old guys were regaining their former glory.

”Yesterday, Old Qian came to me, asking if there was any work to do.”

”This group of old guys can actually feel ashamed?”

Professor Han silently watched Gao Gong, and Gao Gong coughed awkwardly, saying, ”What’s the rush, Old Han? Have you heard of eagle training?”

”They are already very old.”

”Then train old eagles.”

Seeing that Professor Han wanted to say more, Gao Gong didn’t tease him and directly handed him a ’technical plan.’

”Old Han, do you know? Biological rejection actually has an advantage.”

”What advantage?”

”Once the rejection hits the threshold, it can’t go any higher,” Gao Gong paused, ”If they haven’t exploded by this point, it means their bodies are already ’fixed at a semi-deformed state.’”

”What’s the use of that—”

Professor Han glanced at the ’technical plan,’ and his eye twitched fiercely.
