Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 97: Chapter 88: Spider Lady

In the biological factory modified from an underground garage, flames, explosions, and gunshots merged into one.

Zhao Mechanism stared blankly at these artificial soldiers descending from the sky, slaying mercilessly.

The biological transformation pods were stuffed with bombs and detonated.

His power, wealth, and ambition seemed to be swallowed by the flames before him.

His eyes dazed and his body trembling, he was escorted by bodyguards, fleeing to the safe house.

And the reason he could escape was because the primary targets of these soldiers were technical staff and biological experts, not managerial types like him.

”Supervisor, we’re heading to the surface to join the legion!” a bodyguard captain shouted.

With many years of battlefield instincts, he could sense that these people had excellent military skills, their movements crisp and efficient.

”No, no!” Zhao Mechanism snapped back to reality. Apart from this apparent biological factory, he had five more underground factories under construction.

Those underground factories were scattered throughout the old subway system, storing a large amount of precious biological materials and semi-finished soldiers. If these attackers were traced back, the consequences would be unimaginable.

”Let’s go, we’re going down!”

Just before leaving, Zhao Mechanism suddenly thought, since the opponent’s targets were so clear, was the biological factory where Du Zhaodi was also within the attack range?

Should he look for her first?

But a second later, this thought was overridden by a stronger desire—the pursuit of power.

...

”Sister Du, everyone else has evacuated, we should hurry and leave too.”

The little woman was extremely nervous. In fact, she sensed the danger as soon as the artificial soldiers attacked and immediately arranged for personnel to evacuate.

Now, only the two of them were left in the factory.

”You go first. There are some documents I need to pack and take with me.”

Du Zhaodi bit her lip, her expression unwilling. She treated this factory as a shared venture with Gao Gong.

For someone who had no home since childhood, this place was another of her homes, and she had built it herself.

Leaving now made her very unwilling.

A screen on an instrument lit up, revealing Huang Wen’s face. He spoke seriously, ”The attackers have broken through the first line of defense. Hurry and evacuate!”

Du Zhaodi gritted her teeth, slammed the document box shut, and took one last look at her office.

”Let’s go!”

Huang Yuanli breathed a sigh of relief. Although she was older than the other, compared to such a career elite, she was just a nobody.

So she called her Sister Du and often came over to learn management experience.

The two quickly became close.

In the emergency passage, Huang Yuanli carefully scouted ahead, her mind communication at maximum. She initially wanted to rendezvous with the Security Corps guards.

This suggestion was firmly rejected by Du Zhaodi.

”There’s an inside informant, we can’t take the risk.”

”Seizing the moment the front battle shifts and defences are weak to decisively strike, accurately removing surveillance points, breaking through the rear defenses in one move isn’t possible without precise intelligence.”

”If I’m not mistaken, once we’re killed, they’ll definitely destroy the bodies, then fabricate an attack by a Mechanical Beast.”

”Director Du is right, there have been scattered Mechanical Beasts coming in, eating people in the warehouse,” Huang Wen’s voice came through their earphones.

”Turn left, there’s no one there.”

Huang Yuanli wiped her sweat and couldn’t help but joke.

”Peeping Wen, you do have your uses; practicing voyeurism every day with drones, your skills have truly polished.”

”In the art of voyeurism, I, Huang Yuanli, hail you as the best!”

Huang Wen’s helpless voice came over the headset.

”Please respect my main job. My body is already vegetative; what naughty thoughts could I have?”

Just as Huang Yuanli was about to say something, Huang Wen’s voice suddenly turned urgent.

”Hurry and get out of here, there’s a figure rapidly approaching you, my camera can’t keep up with him.”

Du Zhaodi immediately dropped the documents, grabbed the little woman, and ran, suddenly realizing something as her face changed.

”Quick, turn off your ability!”

The duo had just rushed out of the escape passage, reaching an underground tunnel, when a half-human half-mechanical body stood not far from them.

”Very clever,” the person said calmly, ”Our transformation technology indeed has a dedicated anti-sensing mode.”

The two women’s faces turned pale in an instant.

The newcomer resembled a burning Human Form Mechanical Beast, flames extending from his chest out along his arms, quickly forming a wall of fire behind the two women.

”Du Zhaodi, the newly appointed Mechanical Committee member, your identity is crucial to our cause. Join us.”

”Your cause?” Du Zhaodi forced herself to remain calm, looking at the emblem on the person’s chest, ”I can join you, but you must ensure we both survive.”

”Survive? That’s impossible. After all, I only need your head.”

”Our Knight Order does not recruit the living.”

”No wonder you never had any idea of recruiting me back then.”

The two women suddenly felt a tightness around their waists, then a dizzying shift in their vision. When they regained their senses, they found themselves hanging on the climbing frame of the tunnel. Wrapped around their waists seemed to be spider silk?

”Climb out. The opponent’s flames are quite special, don’t let them touch you.”

A charming mechanical lady blocked in front of the two, speaking without turning her head.

”Daisila!” Huang Yuanli exclaimed with joy: ”When did you get here!”

”I’ve been by your side all along, it’s the boss who sent me to protect you secretly,” Daisila paused, ”Besides, my current appearance is not very suitable for appearing in public.”

The current Daisila, except for her head, had completely changed her appearance. Her hips were attached to a massive spider-like digestive organ, her skin was covered in dense electronic spider eyes, and her nearly two-meter-long alloy limbs left the two women feeling extremely unfamiliar.

”It’s you, Three-Handed Daisy!” Flame Knight Hoss obviously recognized her: ”You actually weren’t burned to death.”

”Thanks to you, I’ve become stronger,” Daisila gazed with fascination at her dark gold body, curvaceous and tight.

”Also, I’m no longer called Three-Handed Daisy. I’ve given myself a more pleasant name.”

”Spider Lady.”

”Boring,” Hoss snorted coldly, and the next moment, numerous jets squeezed out from his flesh, violently blasting out flames.

”Only people who don’t appreciate are boring!”

Eight alloy limbs suddenly extended out, anchoring to the walls on both sides, allowing her to rise like a spider, avoiding the incoming flames. Meanwhile, electromagnetic radiation from the spider digestive organ illuminated, spreading throughout her body, causing the entire tunnel to flare brightly.

”What’s that—”

”EMP field,” Du Zhaodi didn’t look back, ”Keep climbing!”

The flame weapon was immediately put into downtime by the EMP, and the mechanical body of the Flame Knight was also affected, with a momentary delay in nerve response. By the time he reacted, the other party had disappeared.

All that was left was a giant spider shadow looming.

Above!

The Flame Knight Hoss quickly leaped backward, and the next moment, two spider long spears pinned into the ground, shattering stones.

Then with the spider legs, Daisila’s figure suddenly swung forward, six spider long spears folded in mid-air, transforming into leg-sized tachi slashing forward, the sword light flickering, forming a web of blades.

Completely different from before!

The Flame Knight was also a close combat expert, but the current Daisila was giving him immense pressure. Long spears, tachi, spider scythes, each spider leg could transform three ways, and Daisila had a total of eight spider legs.

And her change of tactics was so fast, only afterimages could be seen in the retina.

Almost as soon as they clashed, the Flame Knight was slashed all over with blood spraying, his body covered in blood marks.

”You know, ever since the last defeat, all I’ve been thinking about is seeing you again.”

Perhaps due to the transformation, Daisila’s voice was no longer as crisp as before, but sticky and seductive.

”Flame blast!”

The Flame Knight collided his fists together, jets of flame burst from his eyes, ears, mouth, nose, and all his pores, sealing off the entire tunnel with a ten-meter diameter fireball.

However, Daisila seemed to have a precognitive ability, as spider silk instantly ejected from several spider jets on her thighs and waist, clinging to the walls on both sides, her body rebounded backward, just avoiding the fireball attack.

”Flaming fists!”

The next moment, a series of fist-sized high-temperature fireballs were shot out. The Flame Knight’s arms seemed to have undergone some ’pile driver’ transformation, the forearms continually retracted into the upper arms, then rapidly extended, the flame on the fists being ’punched’ out, the initial speed as fast as bullets.

But Daisila had already suffered from this move before, how could she fall for it again.

At some point, the surroundings had been covered with webs, and Daisila used the power of the silk to crawl, bounce, transform, stretch, making all sorts of unconventional body movements.

It had a strong sense of déjà vu, the Spider Lady version of ’Rainy Night Knife Killing Mode’.

The opponent resembled an agile spider, bouncing everywhere in the confined space.

And from her back, legs, and shoulders, barrels popped out, continuously shooting at the Flame Knight in the crawling process.

”Great flame burst!”

The Flame Knight transformed one hand into a flame thrower, burning the web everywhere, squeezing out several flame jets from his flesh, using the power of the flames to charge mid-air for combat.

Seeing this, Daisila’s spider digestive organ on her rear grew larger, her figure became slimmer, her two arms and two thighs also transformed into spider legs, her head almost nestling against her body, turning entirely into the form of a mother spider.

Sixteen spider legs frantically crawled on the walls, agility directly doubled.

It wasn’t just agility. When single-molecule hook claws shot from behind her, forcefully pulling the Flame Knight to the ground, her power had also doubled.

Ten minutes later, not only had the injuries on the Flame Knight’s body not decreased, but they had increased.

The healing ability of Biomechanical Technology was indeed powerful, not inferior to some Radiation Beasts, but crucially, the opponent not only had bizarre and unpredictable close combat but also used venom!

The spider venom had a negative effect of making wounds stop healing, and even enhancing radiation.

This was the ability of the Skin-Stripping Spider.

The Flame Knight knew if he didn’t go all out, he might be slowly dragged to death here.

Every move of the opponent seemed to be specifically designed to counter him.

In the state of ’Biomechanical Unity’, the temperature around the Flame Knight rapidly increased, while his five fingers merged into a gun shape, the two mechanical arms extending and lengthening, and a substantial part protruded from his scapula, completely transforming into two high-speed rotating steel guns!

”You can transform, don’t think I can’t transform too?”

Daisila coldly laughed, the radiation organ within the spider digestive organ began to glow.

Her ’big rear’ rapidly shrank, turning into something akin to a skirt armor, while under the stimulation of radiation energy, biological sacs beneath her skin began to bulge, growing numerous energy patterns.

In just a moment, she transformed from a seductive lady into a two-meter-tall ’female fitness fanatic’, with the ’spider module’ transforming into exoskeleton armor, fitted over her ’muscles’.

Directly becoming a spider valkyrie.

Behind the tremendous power, Daisila felt her whole body burning, as if she would explode at any moment.

This state of ’Radiation Spider’ couldn’t last long, so she had to make it a quick battle.
