Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 60: Chapter 51: New Battle Developments (Revised Double Chapter)_4

”Fortunately, I’m just logistics staff, part of the first group to evacuate, or else I really wouldn’t have made it.”

”So intense. Didn’t they say that Hels is a renowned general of the Mechanical Legion? I heard he even brought elite forces of the Mechanical Legion along.”

”Elite my ass. That old guy saw the situation was bad and ran faster than anyone. Luckily, your Brother Finger wasn’t just loafing around, he was prepared and managed to hitch a ride on his plane right away.”

Little Finger on the other end let out a long sigh of relief, still feeling a lingering fear.

”The Beast Tide is truly terrifying!”

”All the Radiation Fields connected into one, all electronic devices failed, the sky was pitch black, covered by mechanical flying creatures, and on the ground a massive number of malformed plants sprouted, creating a concrete forest on the spot. The radiation levels on the battlefield skyrocketed, and in the end, what everyone competed for wasn’t weapons or ammunition, but Radiation Needles. The monsters in the Beast Tide fought with utter recklessness, their attacks getting stronger wave after wave. The mechanical defense line only held for three days before it completely collapsed. Later statistics showed the number of Radiation Beasts that appeared on the battlefield reached up to five million.”

”Didn’t the Security Corps make any preparations?” Gao Gong wondered.

”Of course they did. The Security Corps anticipated the scale of the battle to be two full-force A-level Beast Tides, maybe three, which they could barely withstand.”

”Weren’t there only two A-level monster leaders?”

In Gao Gong’s impression, the A-level Radiation Queen and the A-level Duke of Fission both were injured. No way it would turn out to be such a mess.

”Yes, but who could have expected these two monsters could merge together, and once they merge, they become a genuine S-Level Beast King.”

”This wasn’t an A-level Beast Tide, it was a full-fledged Beast King Tide.”

”Ugh—”

Gao Gong was speechless too. Who knew they could merge like that, making the relationship between male and female practically hermaphroditic.

”Forget it, it’s good you didn’t come, or you’d probably not have survived either.”

After talking for a long time, Little Finger finally said something sensible.

”By the way, where’s Sister Rose?”

”Sister Rose went to a banquet, to some desert chieftain’s place.”

”So carefree?”

”Of course not, that old black guy invited all the desert bigwigs. The discussion is most likely about this war.”

”Anyway, I have a bad feeling.”

It’s quite bad indeed, thought Gao Gong as he stroked his chin. He didn’t know how these desert tycoons intended to fool those above, but he knew if they kept this up, the oases would be plucked out one by one like nails by the Beast Tide.

By the time of the Hydra Battle, the Mechanical Legion wouldn’t even have a frontline base left.

Suddenly, Gao Gong had a thought and said, ”I have to hang up now, let’s chat again when there’s time.”

”No, let’s talk a few more minutes. I’m surrounded by robots right now, it’s so boring—”

”If you’re bored, play with the Virtual Machine.”

Gao Gong hung up the phone and looked around calmly.

Besides rows of luxury cars in the garage, there wasn’t a sound.

Gao Gong switched to infrared mode, but even in the red-tinged vision, not a single silhouette appeared.

’Can it block heat sources?’

The next moment, a gust of wind hit him, and Gao Gong turned sharply, leaving a huge slash on the ground.

’Radiation Beasts have invaded the Oasis Core, the Security Corps really are useless.’

’Guess I’ll try this move.’

A thought crossed Gao Gong’s mind, and suddenly his eyes turned a sickly yellow as a terrifying aura burst forth, enveloping the entire abandoned factory.

The next moment, in the eyes of the invisibility-cloaked Radiation Beast, this human changed forms.

Gao Gong’s head elongated, his body grew rapidly, soon reaching three meters tall. Crimson steel bones exuded a palpable danger, and dagger-like teeth lined up unevenly. With each breath, the high heat distorted the air.
