Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 68: Chapter 59: Six-Blade Battle Against Beasts – Eliminating Calamity in the Sand Sea (Part 2)

In the current situation, let alone live battlefield broadcasts, there are very few Mechanical Hunters who dare to go to the battlefield.

In fact, most Mechanical Hunters are hiding in Automobile City, which has been armed to the teeth like a fortress, drowning their sorrows in alcohol while awaiting the final siege battle.

Going live at this time is like turning on a spotlight in a doghouse—blinding the dogs.

”Damn, this sword skill, fast! Fierce! Accurate!”

”How can he be so fierce? How is he doing so many unconventional moves?”

”He’s flying, it’s amazing, did you see it? He was just flying!”

”Forget about everything else, did anyone count, how many Radiation Beasts did he kill?”

”Who the hell can keep count of that?”

”C-level, it must be C-level, who cares about those low-level trash!”

Some people seem to forget that it was those so-called low-level trash that trapped them in the Oasis.

A gambler who claimed to have washed his hands of the business for about ten days stood up excitedly.

”I counted, twenty-three in total, no no no, including that deformed Bat King, it’s twenty-four in total!”

Whether it was the drinkers in the bar, the viewers in front of electronic screens, or even the analysis department of the Security Corps, anyone who calculated the numbers couldn’t help but gasp.

This person is a monster!

No, he was already a monster before, being able to assassinate six or seven C-level Radiation Beasts in one day.

Now he’s even more monstrous. The damage of those two machetes, that incredible body skill, and that fearlessly reckless combat style, are simply too strong to comprehend.

Everyone believes they understand one thing, and that’s what Gao Gong was doing during the days of his disappearance—he was in isolation, undergoing modifications!

Yet everyone still can’t figure out one thing.

And that is how this guy can last so long.

They’ve been eating popcorn, watching the show, thinking time was passing quickly, but looked up, damn, five hours have passed.

Is the liquid flowing in his body not blood, but engine oil?

Or are all his organs fitted with engines?

...

’Screech—’

A military vehicle screeched to a halt at the entrance of the combat department, the door swung open, and Manager Zhou hurriedly alighted, making his way briskly to the combat meeting room.

He is no longer the highest officer at this military supply base.

It’s not that he was demoted, but that in this ’new combat department’, there are at least five individuals ranked above him.

Why are so many senior legion officials here? The reason is simple: it’s because this Oasis is the closest to Scavenger City.

The defeat of the Scavenger City great battle had severe consequences, a lot of defensive facilities were abandoned, rendering the outside of the Oasis a true Uninhabited Land.

The expansion of Genetic Territory, the Beast Tide disasters, and their first target is Automobile City.

The old men of the ’Legion Joint Command’ have issued a strict order: if the Oasis falls, this group will not be allowed to retreat, and will be directly listed as ’casualties’.

This tactic feels familiar.

The supervision teams.

This was always a trick played by the higher-ups on those below them.

They never thought they’d face such a day themselves.

The old men are truly sinister!

’Bang’, the door was pushed open directly, two Quasi-Generals, four Colonels, three Oasis Staff Chiefs, and one was his direct superior, the Minister of Logistics from the ’Flying Ship’ headquarters.

”Greetings, officers!”

Manager Zhou quickly stood to attention and saluted.

”Information.”

Brigadier General Geville extended his hand without turning his head.

Manager Zhou hurriedly handed over the prepared information.

Geville bowed his head, the information wasn’t much, but it was very detailed, including Gao Gong’s background, mission history, extent of body transformation, and personal relationships.

All this was pretty unremarkable.

Hmm?

The word Black Rose in the companion section made him frown slightly.

He had some impression of this woman, having seen this alluringly dressed lady in a black gown during a dinner party at the ’Aerial Base’.

At the time, he thought she was a custom-made Bionic Man for some Cloud Nobility, or a mistress kept by some old man.

But thinking back, it wasn’t right, as this level of a party only allowed direct relatives or cloned relatives to enter.

’Quasi-General’ is already the minimum threshold.

So he initially thought she was probably the wife of some General.

Bar owner? Why would there be such a bizarre thing?

Quasi-General Geville breathed a sigh, handed the file to another Quasi-General Demon Mountain, but there was no reaction for a while.

Geville frowned, turned to look, and saw that this frontline Quasi-General was staring fanatically at the projection screen.

”Interesting, very interesting, is this combat style unique to the hunting mode of a Mechanical Hunter?”

The Battlefield Recorder captured the battle from a ’first-person perspective’.

Thus, in the projection, everyone could only observe the battlefield from Gao Gong’s perspective.

On the ground, it’s tolerable, although extremely fast, one could barely see two machetes flickering continuously, and with each flicker, there is either dismemberment or decapitation. Moreover, the two machetes, though seemingly fierce and ruthless, after cutting into the skin of the Radiation Beasts, lack any trace of fireworks.

So far, not a single Radiation Beast has exploded upon death.

This indicates that their Radiation Organs have been removed before they died.

If it were just one Radiation Beast, an ordinary Mechanical Hunter could manage it, after all, practice makes perfect.

But if it’s a group of beasts, even elite Hunters can’t guarantee a 100% success rate.

Radiation Beasts, unlike Mechanical Bio-Beasts, are most powerful when killed, with a terrifying power equivalent to explosive weapons.

Someone specifically tested this.

The explosion power of an F-level Radiation Beast is equivalent to a hand grenade.

An E-level Radiation Beast is equivalent to a cannon shell.

A D-level equals a dirty bomb, placing people in a high-intensity Radiation Field, the effect can be referenced to a certain Little Woman.

C-level is equivalent to a cluster bomb, powerful enough to destroy a building.

B-level is like a thermobaric bomb, capable of easily destroying a street block.

As for A-level, or S-level, no one has tested it outside the battlefield, but just looking at the radiation intensity makes it clear that once it explodes, it must be at a nuclear level, the only difference is whether it’s low yield or medium yield, battlefield level or tactical level.

Therefore, in the face of a Beast Tide, defensive war is undoubtedly the worst option.

As a frontline commander transferred from the front, Demon Mountain is very clear about the value of this combat method.

”If there had been such a decapitation unit back then, the mechanical defense line might not have been breached.”

”General, isn’t it too flattering to him?” a military advisor somewhat dissatisfiedly said, ”Aren’t the Flying Species of the Radiation Beasts the most threatening?”

”Fool, do you think I’m talking about how well he can fight? It’s mobility, mobility!”

In the Virtual Projection, the scene suddenly soared into the air, quickly circling a giant Radiation Beast three stories high, a sword plunged into the opponent’s body and rotated, another sword slashed horizontally and vertically, causing chaos and gore.

The speed of the scene’s rotation caused many to even feel ’3D motion sickness’.

”Speed is 67 km/h.”

Someone reported.

”How exactly is this done, manned flight wings, reactive interference device, or Exoskeleton propeller?”

Demon Mountain’s large grinding hand stroked his chin, puzzled.

”Mark his flight path for me.”

Soon, various lines appeared on the Virtual Projection, primarily straight lines on the ground, and whenever airborne, it would undoubtedly take a curved route.

”Kind of like—swinging?”

”Seems to be some kind of catapult.”

”Then the rope, there should be equipment like an airdrop rope.”

”Rope, rope,” a special forces military advisor muttered, suddenly having a flash of inspiration, ”it’s a Single Molecule Line! Definitely a Single Molecule Line!”

”What is that?”

”A type of advanced molecular material, originally developed for the construction industry, but as the material upgraded, it became a weapon, widely used on the Black Market, known as an assassination tool, can be electrified, poison-added, high temperature, with a wide range of uses.”

Brigadier General Geville had a strange expression, not because building materials turned into a weapon, but because this type of Single Molecule Line was only sold in one place, which was the Security Corps’ logistic warehouse.

An enthusiastic Colonel said, ”So, this equipment isn’t expensive, we can popularize it, we can totally build such a unit ourselves.”

Cheap, useful, universal, high mobility.

Isn’t this the best choice for cannon fodder?

”Uh,” an equipment department Major hesitated, said: ”This is unlikely, you may not know, those bumpkins, oh no, Mechanical Hunters like to customize their Prosthetic Bodies, if we follow their modification methods, our firepower intensity will be significantly reduced.”

”Then don’t use firepower, switch to melee.”

”Hmm—”

The Major didn’t speak, but Demon Mountain couldn’t help but scold: ”Fool, look at their Sword Skill, do you think ordinary soldiers can do this?”

The Colonel didn’t speak anymore, not to mention ordinary soldiers, even advanced combat-type Robots in terms of Swordsmanship, couldn’t match this one in the Virtual Projection.

The opponent’s Swordsmanship has already reached a level of combining hardness and softness, Formless and tracelessness.

This has surpassed the range of ’skills’ and reached the level of ’art’.

But Demon Mountain immediately turned to his companion.

”If we expedite procuring a batch of Combat Chips, using algorithms to simulate, can it be done in time?”

”No need to achieve 100%, simulating about 60-70%, if we can cultivate such a strong decapitation unit before the war, I think it’s completely possible.”

Brigadier General Geville sighed, ”Not to mention the time is definitely not enough, the key is, the price of Combat Chips, can this be popularized?”

Demon Mountain’s expression stiffened, thanks to monopolistic enterprises, the price of Advanced Combat Chips is even more expensive than the latest model of Exoskeleton.

Not cheap, not universal.

Isn’t this exactly the Legion’s Exoskeleton special forces?

Although the combat scenes are still wonderful, these high-level people of the Legion have gradually lost interest.

No matter how good one person is at fighting, how many Radiation Beasts can they kill?

Moreover, the person involved will also get injured, will also make mistakes.

Physical decline is inevitable.

This is just a special case under the general environment.

However, what shocked everyone——

Gao Gong has been killing for two days and nights.

The state is even getting better.
