Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 90: Chapter 81: Advent of the Deity

Turning into a drama enjoyer, after teasing Zhao Mechanism for a while, Gao Gong slowly returned to his underground office.

Soon, Professor Han brought good news.

It was the final debugging of the ’Spider Module’ that had been completed.

Gao Gong’s spirits lifted as he inspected the finished product. Generally speaking, it looked like a large spider exoskeleton, with six giant metal appendages made of super alloy capable of secondary folding. The first fold turns them into limb tachi, the second into arm modules, and when fully unfolded, they transform into a modified ’Magnetic Storm Shock Gun.’

Some ’Electronic Spider Eyes’ on the spider shell were removed and replaced with concealed single-molecule claw hooks and firearm weapons—these accessories can be modified a second, third, or even nth time based on the user’s habits.

Inside the ’Spider Module,’ strings of ’Poison Sacs’ and ’Spider Sacs’ hang. During the second stage of transformation, these ’Biological Sacs’ will rapidly expand, propping up the body size.

After undergoing ’Teeth Transformation,’ ’Arthropod Transformation,’ and ’Palm Transformation,’ the spun spider silk will catch people off guard.

The source of these ’Poisonous Substances’ is the ’Armored Giant Buttocks’ of the ’Spider Module.’

This ’big butt’ is not only a digestive processor but also a ’Radiation Energy Storage.’ During the third stage of transformation, it will spread ’Biological Radiation Energy’ throughout the body, enabling a temporary seed burst.

Of course, considering the first form is ’Human Form,’ the ’Spider Processor’ can be detached, with the connection port on the coccyx.

Simply put, this ’Spider Hunter Module’ retains the ’Biological Engine’ of the Turbo Spider, the EMP of the Electronic Node Spider, and the ’Radiation Organ’ of the Skin-Stripping Spider.

The three abilities maintain a balance, using the ’Biological Energy Engine’ to control ’Mutated Radiation,’ preventing the mutant power from going berserk and turning Daisila into a skin-stripping monster. At the same time, the ’EMP’ restricts the ’Biological Engine,’ allowing all spider organs to be shut down at any time, a limitation designed to avoid ’Phantom Limb Syndrome.’

Post-transformation, Daisila becomes not just ’Three-Handed’ but ’Eight Hands,’ not counting the temporary adjustability of tactile appendage devices.

There are also some personalized ’Mechanical Hunting Transformations,’ which Gao leaves for Daisila to decide.

For example, switching to a larger biological armor to install ’Turbo Fans,’ achieving short-range ’Flying Hunt;’ or installing higher-level computing chips, adding a hacker module to transform into an ’Electronic Invasion Spider.’

These transformations, tailored to one’s own combat style, are where the Mechanical Hunter’s greatest strength lies.

”A high-quality bionic masterpiece!”

Even someone as composed as Professor Han couldn’t help but lament.

”What a beautiful armor!”

The rare visitor, Little Woman, was starry-eyed. This biological armor, around two meters tall in dark golden color, was very enchanting, with various strange patterns adorned on it. Moreover, the fusion of the combat suits from the three spider modules had a unique ’matriarch aura,’ very intimidating.

”Give me one too!” Little Woman tugged on Gao Gong’s sleeve, acting coquettish.

”You’re too short; there’s no mechanical beast for a loli-sized body,” Gao Gong coldly rejected.

”Does it have any side effects?” Aunt Xiang couldn’t help but ask.

”Um, hard to say, although I’ve adjusted it to the greatest extent, the spider instincts interfering with the neural system is unavoidable.”

”For example, using spider silk to bind small prey to satisfy certain special fetishes, or occasionally eating a mate or something.”

Gao Gong remained calm, ”But those are minor matters; doesn’t Cao still have a dream of killing people? That’s just personal interest, and you should respect other people’s hobbies.”

Little Woman’s face gradually changed from fondness to terror, as if she could imagine her tiny body being tied with spider silk in eighteen different styles, and she subconsciously swallowed hard.

As the saying goes, the rumor day of loli fear, the mature lady’s respect not yet showed, she was quite afraid of this.

”Well, I’m heading back to the battlefield; I’m going to protect the tribe, I’m really brave!”

”It can’t be that exaggerated,” Aunt Xiang said with a strange expression.

”Who knows? Nobody’s done it before,” Gao Gong shrugged, looking quite irresponsible.

”I think it’s fine. The ’Spider Hunter Module’ has three forms: first form, human-spider form; second form, mad spider form; and third form, radiation spider form. As long as you maintain the first form most of the time, human physiological instincts will suppress the spider instincts, which has been proven through experiments.”

Professor Han thought for a moment and then made an illustrative analogy.

”It’s like quitting smoking; you just have to endure the first few times.”

”I’ve never smoked,” Daisila said confidently, ”Bring it on, I’ve been waiting for this!”

Gao Gong and Professor Han exchanged glances.

”Then please, unrelated personnel, step back; we’re about to get to work.”

”Rest assured, I am now a senior old doctor, much better at surgery than Little Finger, that amateur.”

Gao Gong wasn’t lying. Since transitioning to a ’Senior Prosthetic Doctor,’ his ’Human Body Transformation Surgery’ has also upgraded to ’Level 2 Human Body Transformation Surgery.’

Level 2 Human Body Transformation Surgery (Profession): Use professional equipment and knowledge to achieve deep human modifications.

With Level 1, he could only replace prosthetics, swap organs. Modifying a human system would make his heart race.

Level 2 is different. What is deep modification? Simply put, it’s metamorphic—oh no, transformational-grade modification.

Metamorphic-grade surgery would have to wait for the next job transfer. Gao Gong planned to save the first metamorphosis for himself.

The surgery was incredibly intense, lasting for a full twenty-four hours.

This was all thanks to the beast tide; not to mention the mutated three spiders, all C+ grade beasts of the hunter type, even if Gao Gong made a move himself, he might not catch them.

Not to mention, there were so many high-quality mechanical biological parts.

Thinking back, could it be that Zhao Mechanism isn’t actually a simp, but a warm-hearted guy?

The biggest difference between a simp and a warm-hearted guy is that a simp only fawns over one, while a warm-hearted guy doesn’t discriminate between genders.

Such a move could make people quite touched.

...

Twenty-four hours of non-stop, high-intensity work, even Gao Gong, being this ’mental pervert,’ couldn’t help but feel a bit dizzy and light-headed after completing the final transformation.

In the sterile lab, a kind of exciting bloody smell permeated the air. There’s an excitement factor in the spider’s blood, which explains its penchant for eating its partner.

Gao Gong let out a breath, countless strands of blood thread retracting from his arm.

’Nerve Bundle’ is used to confirm whether the other party’s neural system is operating normally.

So far, it seems to be running well.

However, to truly wake up, it will take another twelve hours.

Gao Gong, dizzy and dazed, returned to his office, just about to take a short nap when an orange cat on his desk pitifully ’meowed’.

”Huh, why is it you?” Gao Gong was taken aback.

It wasn’t that he forgot about this sales employee transformed into a cat, but why did the guy get so fat?

If previously the orange cat still had the graceful elegance of a ’feline lady’, capable of stealing a woman’s man, now it looked like a ’Totoro’ twice as fat.

”Meow~~~”

The orange cat barreled ahead, bumping right into Gao Gong’s chest.

Gao Gong’s chest felt heavy, and he quickly activated the ’information transmission’ in his brain, translating cat language into human language.

”Boss, help!!!”

”What’s going on with you, didn’t complete your KPI?”

The orange cat pitifully nodded. For not meeting the standards, she was punitively injected with a fat-enhancing additive, and because she didn’t meet the standards, her language converter was also removed.

Simply put, she was left to fend for herself.

”Then how did you find your way here, oh, you must have sought out the Little Woman.”

Gao Gong understood; in Automobile City, only the Little Woman could understand ’cat language’ and watch ’cat videos’.

Then it was only natural she brought her here.

Gao Gong stroked his chin while staring at her, suddenly chuckling: ”Too many weapon defects, huh, and people found out.”

The orange cat pitifully nodded. According to her, this quarter’s KPIs could’ve been fudged through. After all, ’Mas Sharpness’ was a known brand even in the desert.

But unexpectedly, a beast tide erupted, and a large number of weapons underwent real combat testing. This testing revealed that behind the beautiful performance specs were a pile of bizarre defects.

The return rate neared 100%.

And then she got scapegoated for it.

Gao Gong patted the cat’s back. He had to admit, although she was fatter, the hand feel was better.

”By the way, did the biological data I sent you last time pass the inspection?”

”Meow~ It seems to have passed, meow.”

”Even that can pass,” Gao Gong clicked his tongue, truly speechless; the biological data provided by that mutt actually passed inspection.

’Mas Sharpness’ has forsaken humanity now?

”Boss, give me an order, please, boss~” The orange cat held tight with her two chubby paws, staring at him wide-eyed.

She used to not believe in this country bumpkin, but now there’s no other way. Treat a dead horse as if it’s alive, right?

Gao Gong kneaded her chubby face, thinking, and said, ”Do you have a weapons list?”

”Yes, yes, I do!”

The orange cat quickly jumped down, carrying a dirty bag in her mouth. This branded bag was now her only property.

After spending half a day, the fat cat finally opened the wallet and extracted the weapon list.

She held a pen in her mouth with a diligent look.

Gao Gong took the pen, nodding while making marks on the list.

”Not this one.”

”Not this one.”

”And not this one either.”

The orange cat was growing increasingly desperate.

”Except for these three, give me a thousand units of everything else.”

The orange cat’s eyes suddenly brightened, staring at Gao Gong in disbelief.

In her eyes, Gao Gong was radiating golden light, the kind of nouveau riche style most beloved by sales employees like her.

”What, do you think I can’t afford it?” Gao Gong’s face turned stern.

”No, no, no,” the orange cat shook all over, hesitantly saying, ”Boss, I can give you a discount.”

Gao Gong slowly stood up, looking at her seriously.

”Discount? Are you kidding! I, Gao, never buy discounted goods!”

Amid the backdrop of explosions overhead, Gao Gong’s figure grew loftier, like the descent of the ’God of Sucker’.

The orange cat trembled all over, her face devout, bowing low to the ground.
