Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 71: Chapter 62: Super Mechanical Ape

In the Uninhabited Land, the black zone and the red zone are completely different modes. The red zone is chaotic; no matter which direction you walk a hundred meters, you will inevitably run into a beast herd.

Then, not long after, two beast herds, three beast herds, four beast herds, appear like dumplings in a boiling pot, more and more, until they completely overwhelm you.

The black zone is different, silent and vast, with no sound apart from a lot of deformed plants.

Iron Hide carefully drove the car, slowly moving along the red-white boundary line.

In most parts of the red zone, his armored vehicle could pass through, but in this black zone, he doubted he could drive in and come out again.

Aunt Xiang stared at the environment here in a daze, for a long while, before saying, ”A long time ago, the metropolitan area looked like this.”

”At that time, the radiation ecology was not yet fully formed. In every place, there was inevitably a dominator commanding all the radiation beasts.”

”A dominator, eh.”

Gao Gong closed his eyes and said gently.

After a long while, Iron Hide spoke, ”Boss, I think I just saw a beast.”

”Was it a Radiation Beast or a Mechanical Bio-Beast?”

”Radiation Beast.”

”Then keep driving forward.”

”Oh.”

For Gao Gong, Radiation Beasts are much easier to kill than Mechanical Bio-Beasts because Radiation Beasts don’t have thick armored skins or built-in mechanized weapons. Their only reliance is the ability to self-destruct.

Gao Gong happens to be their nemesis.

But once the level rises to B-level, it becomes the opposite.

The reason is simple, every B-level Radiation Beast is of super size.

Gao Gong cannot achieve a perfect kill by striking the vital points.

There is no need to mention being killed by the opponent.

Even if painstakingly defeating the opponent.

What he’d face would be the self-destruction of a super bomb.

A B-level Radiation Beast’s self-destruction is equivalent to a thermobaric bomb, capable of easily destroying a block.

Even with Gao Gong’s current blood volume, he would definitely be wiped out in one wave.

”Boss—”

Aunt Xiang suddenly covered Iron Hide’s mouth, shaking her head sternly.

An indescribable atmosphere brewed inside the car.

Gao Gong’s eyes were tightly closed, and occasionally a hint of pain flashed across his expression.

He seemed to be soaked in a green swamp, struggling arduously forward.

At the end of the swamp, there seemed to be something.

It seemed to be a gigantic shadow, with six scythes blocking out the sky.

Artificial muscles and biological systems are two completely different concepts.

However powerful biochemical muscles are, they are merely hydraulic systems and polymer materials.

But a biological system is truly a part of you.

What Gao Gong is doing now is awakening the Reaper Cells that belong to him within his body.

Iron Hide glanced through the rearview mirror and suddenly froze, seeing crimson hues seeping from Gao Gong’s arm, spreading from the elbow to the back of the hand.

He indeed saw it right before!

”Alright, stop the car.”

Gao Gong took a deep breath, got out of the vehicle, motioned with his hand, activated the sensing switch, and three Green Reapers flew out from the back seat, directly attaching to his back.

Then he grabbed the Red Unicorn, slowly inserting it into the metal buckle at his waist.

”Got any fabric?”

Aunt Xiang frowned, rummaging through the box, found a blade-cleaning cloth, and handed it over.

Relying on his senses, Gao Gong tied the cloth over his eyes, engulfed by the scent of knife oil and rust.

”Kid, don’t die on me!”

Just before Gao Gong left, Aunt Xiang suddenly said.

”As if.”

Gao Gong grinned; in their eyes, his appearance gradually changed, limbs growing longer, teeth baring wide, his piercing yellow gaze looking down, even the swords on him transforming into steel tails and giant claws.

’Thump’, ’Thump’

Aunt Xiang could almost hear her own heartbeat.

As Gao Gong’s figure gradually turned into a small black dot.

Aunt Xiang slumped back onto the rear seat, exhaling deeply, yet excitement gleamed across her face.

She suddenly felt an intense urge to share, wanting to tell others that the earliest batch of Mechanical Hunters was this powerful and should have this kind of majesty.

They were even more brutal than them!

But a strong smell of gasoline suddenly wafted from the front.

Even the sound of drips and trickles could be heard.

Aunt Xiang focused her eyes, and to her shock, ”Hey, hey, why are you covered in gasoline.”

”It’s not gasoline, it’s sweat!” Iron Hide gave a difficult smile. How should one describe this smile? It was even a bit shy.

”Whatever it is, clean it up first. Do you want to die together with me?”

Aunt Xiang fumbled, pulling out a towel, handing it over. In this enclosed car environment, just one match would turn them into barbecues.

Iron Hide stuck to the seat back, not moving, his mouth twitching constantly.

”My, my mechanical body got scared into a downtime.”

”Are you trying to kill me?”

Aunt Xiang was furious, and after her anger subsided, she could only lean over the front seat to help clean it up for him.

Yet the ’dripping’ sound of water continued.

Especially around the crotch, the sound of water was incessant.

”Did you... wet yourself from fear!?”

This left Aunt Xiang staring in disbelief.

”Of course not! It’s a urogenital system crash, causing gasoline to spray out from the catheter.”

Iron Hide looked at Aunt Xiang with pleading eyes.

”I’m sworn brothers with Fat Xiang—help out.”

”Get lost!!!”

...

With the Hunter Domain fully activated, even if Gao Gong closed his eyes, he could ’see’ everything around him.

This was a very peculiar experience.

He could clearly feel that the surrounding land, plants, and even the radiation field emitted a very friendly feeling.

It was like a recluse returning to his computer desk, where there was even a bottle of carbonated soda sitting on the table.

And the radiation lines ’in front’ of him were his carbonated soda.

And they came in different colors and flavors.

For instance, X-rays resembled a pale blue shadow, wherever they passed, everything became visible, even down to the cellular level.

Human cells were ’colorless’, occupying most of the body’s territory, whereas Reaper cells were red, centering around the stomach, waging wars in all directions with a strong ability to invade.

Alpha rays appeared as short lines composed of countless particles invisible to the naked eye, appearing like lightning, instantly coming and going.

Gao Gong could sense a force similar to bioelectricity, called a stream of charged particles.

As for the last one, the favorite of Reaper cells, it was called neutron rays.

They continuously caused normal cell mutations yet simultaneously could bolster the Reaper cells.

Once normal cells mutated to a certain extent, a ’Radiation Needle’ had to be administered.

Unless they were cancer cells.

So, were Radiation Beast cells actually a special kind of ’cancer cells’?

Recall that Professor Han mentioned that during the Second Mechanical War, there were not only nuclear weapons but also energy weapons, right?

Did nuclear fission energy and another kind of cosmic energy produce some special reaction?

In the instant of Gao Gong’s distraction.

A creature enveloped in energy suddenly lunged at him from behind.

Almost instinctively, Gao Gong fully unleashed the power of the electromagnetic exciter, drew the red blade with a backhand, and the opponent’s form split in mid-air.

Simultaneously, the energy beam on its body dissipated.

Gao Gong now finally understood why on satellite maps, the markers for C-Level Beasts were red.

It wasn’t because their radiation organs were red, but at the moment of their death, various chaotic energy beams mixed, creating a blooming-style energy release reaction, this ’blooming’ was red.

If this ’energy reaction’ could be broken, then could the explosion of the Radiation Beast be controlled?

Gao Gong sheathed his blade, and no other Mechanical Bio-Beasts rushed forward.

The reason being, in their eyes, he was a fellow creature, a Reaper, not a human.

Among similar beings, unless in a predatory hierarchy, conflicts rarely erupt.

Especially with the terrifying aura surrounding the opponent, the nearby fellow creatures fled in all directions.

Only one or two, unwilling to submit, would rise to plot an attack.

Then they would become tools for Gao Gong to accumulate ’Drinking Frenzy’.

The Red Unicorn, when slaying the seventeenth Mechanical Bio-Beast, the blade ’snapped’ with a sound, splitting into two.

Gao Gong took a deep breath, inserted the broken blade into the sheath, and firmly embedded the sheath into the ground with one hand.

Drawing the blade represents vitality, sheathing the blade represents peace.

The sheath serves as the tombstone of the blade.

No other burial methods are needed.

Gao Gong drew out two Cyan Unicorns with a backhand.

He could feel that the sensation of hairs standing on end was getting closer and closer.

After walking about a hundred steps, Gao Gong’s ’Hunter Domain’ suddenly suffered a strong impact, originating from another more advanced ’Hunter Domain’.

This impact was like a gale, brutally compressing Gao Gong’s hundred-meter range domain to around three meters.

Gao Gong removed his ’blindfold’.

Looking up, he saw atop a mutated hillock in the distance, a ’gorilla’ as tall as a four-story building was looking down at him.

The searchlight-like eyes were mechanical giant balls emitting light.

The surface of the giant balls was like radar-like electronic grids.

Gao Gong was sure that this creature absolutely had a 360-degree field of vision without any blind spots.

Moreover, this Super Mechanical Ape was fully covered in heavy armor, three times thicker than an armored tank.

Even its fingers were encased in mechanical armor.

At the joints where the armor was connected, there were barrel-thick pipes, over a hundred in total at first glance.

At this moment, the Super Mechanical Ape lay lazily on the hill, holding a large metal tree in its left hand, gnawing on it leisurely. The clashing sound of metal on metal was like a factory pressing iron blocks.

’Clang!’ ’Clang!’ ’Clang!’ ’Clang!’ ’Clang!’

Its upper and lower rows of teeth were like a hydraulic press, contracting, pressing, contracting, pressing.

It didn’t even need the bite force of its jaws to crush its prey to pieces.
