Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 55: Chapter 49: Biological Transformation (Part 2)

Gao Gong stared at the blades and metal claws in the nutrient tank, finding nothing particularly special.

Professor Han didn’t explain, but pressed the switch of the nutrient tank’s drainage valve.

Soon, accompanied by the sound of draining, the water level in the nutrient tank rapidly lowered and quickly reached the bottom.

And before it reached the bottom, Professor Han released the switch.

It must be said, the body parts of this Reaper Queen have astonishing vitality. Even when researched in pieces, neither showed signs of ’dying’.

The blade, comparable to the Cyan Dragon Crescent Blade biological blade, buzzed, almost as if it had the ’spirit of a treasure sword’.

Meanwhile, the metal claw opened and closed, even moving like a crab in the glass tank.

”Did you see that?”

Gao Gong leaned close to the glass, letting out a light ”huh”.

Under the activity of these two ’biological components’, the nutrient liquid that hadn’t reached the bottom quickly did so.

Gao Gong understood why this was.

On the edge of the biological blade limb, needle-sized small holes opened up, frantically absorbing the nutrient liquid.

Similarly, on the Reaper’s claw tips, soybean-sized small holes appeared, competing with the biological blade limb for absorption.

”This is the phenomenon of externalization of digestive organs, known as organ projection in bionics, a very special biological phenomenon.”

”When the Reaper’s ’catching foot’ penetrates an enemy’s body, it secretes a strong digestive fluid that dissolves the internal organs, and these ’bio-absorption holes’ will absorb the nutrients from it.”

”Its suction power is strong, reaching 4800AW, three times that of a typical central vacuum cleaner.”

Gao Gong wasn’t entirely sure what ’three times’ meant, but in his memory, when the Reaper Queen assassinated the Reaper Leader, it only took three to four seconds to suck a C-level boss into a dry corpse.

This is the biochemical version of the Star Absorption Skill!

Gao Gong’s eyes lit up, ”So, if I undergo biological modification, will I also have this ability?”

”Theoretically, yes, but it’s only theory. Whether human limbs can replace ’catching foot’ and evolve into new predatory organs, I can’t be sure.”

”No problem, you handle the design, I’ll handle the surgery.”

Gao Gong was rather confident.

He’s made many preparations to tackle biological rejection.

At least for the first biological transformation, he’s confident there won’t be any issues.

As for whether this ’bio-unboxing’ can yield this ability,

it really comes down to doing one’s best and leaving the rest to fate.

Professor Han re-immersed himself in his busy work.

Just the adjustment of the ’biological system’ needs an expert to oversee it. If Gao Gong wants to modify himself, he’d need at least level 10 as a Prosthetic Doctor.

Gao Gong, on the other hand, suddenly found himself with spare time.

He wasn’t planning to truly relax. With a snap of his fingers, two human-headed dogs jumped onto the operating table one after the other.

Professor Han is a master of biological transformation, particularly skilled in bionics, so installing a prosthetic slot on two mechanical bodies was no problem.

Gao Gong took out a box, opened it, revealing a large revolver wrapped in red tissue.

Wearing triple-layer radiation-proof gloves, he took it out with the expression of ’elder, subway, cellphone’, placing it on the operating table.

Name: Radiation Energy Gun

Category: Biochemical Weapons

Quality: Fine+ (Custom Template)

Weight: 2.3kg

Basic Attributes: DPS: 4.2, Attack Power: 1400, Attack Speed: 0.003 attacks/second, Attack Range: 250 meters

Additional Attributes: Piercing (+31% Armor-Piercing Damage), High Temperature (+23.2% Critical Strike Rate)

Plugin Slot: Radiation Storage Device

Radiation Storage Device: A biochemical battery that automatically absorbs nuclear radiation

Note: This weapon is not mature, using it has a high chance of being injected with a biochemical virus

This gun’s quirk lies in it being both an energy weapon and a biochemical weapon—the former to deal with enemies, the latter to deal with oneself.

It’s worth noting that on this planet, those capable of firing energy beams are at least B-level bosses.

Moreover, its attack power is only matched by Gao Gong’s ’Twelve-Percent Iaijutsu Slash’.

But its attack speed is at the other extreme.

One shot every five minutes, requiring pre-charging.

Gao Gong pondered for a moment.

This gun’s greatest use would be for suicide.

But thinking from another angle, just don’t let people use it.

So Gao Gong thought of his dogs.

He planned to perform surgery to mount this gun onto his dog.

As it turned out, such surgery wasn’t difficult.

Quickly, the system made a ’ding’ sound.

[You completed Prosthetic Modification Surgery*1, Experience +50]

The human-headed dog likely didn’t expect its future tragic fate, as it frolicked immediately after getting off the operating table.

And Gao Gong then pulled out a heavy machine gun from another box.

This gun was heavy, over 30kg, without a stock, and the four bio-drills underneath wriggled around like loaches.

Gao Gong had to shake the gun multiple times to get it off his wrist.

”Behave yourself!”

The next moment, the four surgical arms on the operating table turned over, and the surgical forceps directly clamped down on ’Niche’s head to fix these things in place.

Name: Four-legged Guardian

Category: Intelligent Weapons

Weight: 35kg

Operating System: Blade Type 3

Energy: No. 5 Miniature Energy Battery (can connect to the human body for automatic charging)

Usage Method: Human Body Implantation

Basic Attributes: DPS: 59800, Attack Power: 46, Attack Speed: 1300 attacks/second, Attack Range: 800 meters

Intelligent Modules: ’Automatic Aiming’, ’Ballistic Analysis’, ’Charging Mode’, ’Furious Beast’, ’Shooting Storm’

Note: A classic work of the implanted firearms, jokingly referred to as a ’psycho toy’ by many warriors, greatly increasing the chance of cyber psychosis.

Gao Gong glanced over; the five intelligent modules respectively enhance ’Intelligent Shooting’, ’Bleeding Chance’, ’Critical Strike Rate’, ’Area Damage’, and ’Fire Rate’.

This gun’s DPS (damage per second) and that biochemical gun are two extremes, one being a one-shot-kill type, the other a sustained drive type.

In short, both guns are good except for the hidden attribute ’Kill Owner’.

So Gao Gong changed his thinking, instead of giving it to humans, why not give it to dogs.

After all, it’s just a dog’s life.

As the welding on the operating table crackled, an inexplicable layer of evil qi was added to the slightly silly face of the Human-headed Dog.

The radiation capacity gun was fine, not heavy even for a dog.

The ’Four-legged Guardian’ was much heavier, forcing Gao Gong to make massive modifications to the dog body, removing the joints, lowering the center of gravity, replacing the limbs with mechanical tracks, widening the back, moving the head back, and installing a gun mount.

With such a massive modification, it was more of a ’miniature Human-headed Tank’ than a dog.

Maybe ’Doghead Tank’ would be more appropriate.

[You’ve completed a Prosthetic Transformation surgery *1, Experience +100]

”Tsk tsk, what’s the use of a Mechanical Hunter being so strong, after all, it’s just material for military contractors’ experiments.”

”Just the output of these two guns can rival one’s own killer moves, the overwhelming Steel Corps, just thinking about it is terrifying.”

Gao Gong clicked his tongue, insincere in his words, but he was very satisfied with these modifications.

Added two more trump cards.

After two surgeries into the night, looking at Professor Han still focused on ’Biochemical Improvement’, Gao Gong stretched and walked out the door.

A bonfire rose in the recycling station at some point, with many tribespeople singing and dancing in front of it.

Fat Xiang mixed in, never stopping his silly laughter.

Iron Hide was the best at creating atmosphere, pouring a large cup of alcohol into an iron barrel, making the flames leap upwards with a ’bang’.

”I’ll spin discs for you manually, I was best at this when I mixed in the gangs!”

Huang Yuanli also laughed heartily, joining the dancing crowd, her face flushed by the fire.

Desert natives are always adept at entertaining themselves in this environment of scarcity.

Seeing Gao Gong standing on the second floor, Huang Yuanli specifically waved towards him, signaling him to come join the fun.

Gao Gong shook his head with a smile.

Anyway, isn’t this a good ending?

The next day, Gao Gong was still hungover when Professor Han woke him up.

He only planned to observe at first, but everyone was too enthusiastic, dragging him over forcefully.

With no choice, he replaced the steel pipe with a single molecule line and performed a pole dance.

However, amidst the heckling, the dance turned into a striptease.

Amidst the uproar, the voice of the Little Woman’s cheering was the loudest.

Is the underwear still on?

Gao Gong looked down and sighed in relief, the underwear was indeed on.

But why was it on backwards?

Following familiar steps, he returned to the tent. Huang Yuanli was still soundly asleep; he did not disturb her, washed his face with water scooped from a bucket.

Waiting outside the door, Professor Han looked at him with a complicated expression. He didn’t join the fun last night, knowing he wasn’t qualified to join.

”Cough, Professor, how’s it going?”

”A piece of good news and a piece of bad news.”

Perhaps due to the ’Reaper’s Aura’, or maybe when killing the Reaper Queen, some unique pheromones merged into Gao Gong’s body; after a blood test, these biological components did not strongly reject him, which was good news.

The bad news was that these ’same ancestor’ biological components had developed biological rejection against each other.

”What the hell is this?” Gao Gong exclaimed in surprise.

”Simply put, Reaper Cells possess a certain level of corrosiveness, which is also the source of their ’same-species cannibalism’.”

”If biological implants of the same body system, the devour nature wouldn’t show, but if two systems are implanted, the mutual rejection greatly increases biological rejection.”

”Why was it not an issue for the Reaper Queen?”

”It was a chance occurrence of biological mutation, a one-in-a-million radiation creation,” Professor Han shook his head: ”Unless you want to become a complete Reaper, you need to make a choice.”

”In other words, with two modifiable systems, I can only choose one.”

”To be precise, you choose between the circulatory system + subcutaneous blood pump and the digestive system + sensing knee.”

”Oh, right, the subcutaneous blood pump is part of the circulatory system, but isn’t the knee part of the sports system?”

Professor Han said casually: ”I made some bionic adjustments. If it’s just the knee, it can still be within compatibility range, as your knee has already undergone mechanical transformation, detached from the biological category.”

Boss 666!

Gao Gong clasped Professor Han’s hand sincerely: ”My knee not only underwent mechanical transformation, but I can also kneel for you.”
