Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 59: Chapter 51: New Battle Situation (Revised Double-Length Chapter)_3

Wilson decided to wait for the Legion to fight back at the front line, then leave with them. This godforsaken Radiation Zone, let whoever likes it stay here.

He walked through an alley, suddenly pausing in his steps, his peripheral vision catching a dark shadow behind him.

A person was slowly approaching from the front.

Bearded eyes squinted slightly, his hand instinctively reaching for his waist.

”Wilson, captain of the Fire Thief Squad.”

”It’s your grandpa!”

He suddenly drew the energy weapon from his waist. It was a limited edition plasma pistol from the Mechanical Legion, typically owned only by majors and above. This was an advanced weapon that didn’t belong in this desert.

However, the shadow moved faster.

Three minutes later, a bar waiter rushed over, dropping his pants to relieve himself.

A strong smell of blood drifted by him.

He turned his head and saw a figure sitting against the wall.

”You—”

The figure slowly collapsed, and only then did the waiter realize in shock that the person’s body was full of bloody holes, the right arm especially, severed at the elbow.

Three-Handed Daisy was also on her way back, but unlike Wilson, she actually agreed with Huang Wen’s proposal.

What she disagreed with was that according to Huang Wen’s tone, if this united team were to be successfully formed, he would be the leader.

Clearly, among the three veteran teams, ’Fire Grass’ suffered the least losses.

She had just left Petrol Town when she stopped in her tracks.

Her two mechanical arms launched into reflex mode, folding handles popping from her palms, both hands giving a swift flick, launching two folding battle knives.

”Who’s there?!”

Standing before her was a freak, half-human and half-mechanical body, everything below the human head was a mechanical shell, yet on the body, there was a large amount of crimson muscle writhing.

Biochemical muscle? No, biochemical muscle doesn’t have such vitality.

Daisila focused her gaze on the other’s chest, where an emblem of a bloody shield and metallic spear was branded onto his alloy chest.

She had seen this emblem before, it seemed to be the mark of a terrorist organization.

”Full of fighting spirit, nice eyes!”

The freak slowly walked towards her, as he moved, a flame ignited in the center of the shield and spear, right at the chest area.

”I am—Flame Knight Hoss!”

Huang Wen hadn’t left the bar.

In fact, Daisila and Wilson were neither the first nor the last captains he met.

He never put all his eggs in one basket.

But the plan was not going smoothly.

The arrivals were either scared to death by the Beast Tide or had their own agendas, those genuinely valuable for cooperation were few and far between.

After all, in the violent professional group of Mechanical Hunters, the most convincing thing is always a punch.

As for battlefield wisdom and command, are you as impressive as a general from the Mechanical Legion?

If he couldn’t do it, on what basis do you claim you can?

Huang Wen frowned in thought, his tiny eyebrows paired with his tender and innocent face, enough to act cute.

”Tsk tsk, such a cute little brother.”

Huang Wen suddenly raised his head, almost without hesitation, rushing towards the window.

However, the next moment, the electronic ripple flashed on the window, bouncing him back in full.

”Running so fast, why not try using those drones of yours?”

Huang Wen took a deep breath, only to see a multitude of grid light points appearing in the private room, constantly pressing toward him.

”Cyber Hacker, Prosthetic Body Control!”

Huang Wen’s two eyes had been modified with prosthetic eyes and were equipped with electronic defenses.

However, the ’firewall’ was useless.

Only top-notch Cyber Hackers could achieve this.

”It’s not a Hacker invasion, it’s Knight Techniques.”

”Knight Techniques? You belong to the Knight Order!” Huang Wen was silent for a moment, then spoke, ”Do you accept surrender? I can accept any controlling prosthetic body modification.”

”Hehe, little brother, you are so obedient, but no, the Knight Order doesn’t accept outsiders, actually, it doesn’t accept ’people’.”

”Little brother, remember before you die, sister is the Electronic Knight Selena!”

In the next moment, the electronic grid engulfed everything.

In the private room, Huang Wen still sat on the sofa, clenching his hands tightly, his whole body shaking, electronic sparks bursting from the connections on his prosthetic body, first the left eye, then the right eye, and finally the components on the head.

With a ’pop’, his skull exploded, revealing blackened electronic components, amid the scorched smoke, Huang Wen toppled to the ground.

...

In Sister Rose’s garage, next to a telephone, Gao Gong plugged his ears, letting the angry roar from the receiver wash over him.

”I told you to hold on for two days, not to disappear without a trace.”

”Ten days, a full ten days, do you know how much I’ve lost these days?”

”Sister Rose almost tore me apart!”

It took Gao Gong quite a while before he cheerfully replied, ”Brother Little Finger, it’s only been a few days since we last met, and here I thought you missed me so much.”

”What the hell have you been doing these days?!” Little Finger shouted angrily on the other end of the line.

Gao Gong opened his hand, not sure if it was a delusion, but it seemed different from before.

”Nothing much, just had a circumcision, feeling pretty good now.”

”What good is feeling good now when the whole line has collapsed?”

”I heard there was another big battle at Scavenger City a few days ago?” Gao Gong picked up the receiver, crossing his legs, ”You were on the front line, weren’t you? Weren’t you made into a battlefield medic? What was the situation then?”

Little Finger’s voice was full of fear.

”It was awfully brutal, the front line’s Beast Tide wasn’t resolved yet, and unexpectedly, a Beast Tide broke out here too.”
