His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2200: Chapter 640: A Year Later (17): Do You Miss Her?

She doesn’t ask for anything else?

Qin Mingzhu would rather have someone like Chen Xiaoyi who asks for money and status, because that’s more frightening.

Qin Mingzhu immediately called Qin Mu after returning home: ”Sis, you should come back soon, I’m really scared!”

”What’s wrong?”

”Chen Xiaoyi and brother-in-law might be serious. He even took her to eat Western food and is treating her very well.”

”Mingzhu, Mu Yichen and I have been over for a long time!”

”But, sis, you guys...”

”Mingzhu, I’m filming right now, don’t overthink it. I’ll call you back later.”

Qin Mingzhu still had a lot to say to Qin Mu, but Qin Mu seemed very busy. After hearing the call end, Qin Mingzhu couldn’t stop her tears, not knowing how to help Qin Mu.

——

Mu Family, Huanhuan’s room.

Mu Yichen was lying on the bed with Huanhuan. Huanhuan asked him: ”Dad, can my brother and I see mom this Christmas?”

”Do you miss her?”

Mu Yichen asked softly.

”Yeah! My brother misses her too, don’t you miss her, dad?”

Huanhuan asked Mu Yichen, looking at him with innocent eyes.

Mu Yichen glanced at his daughter, took a long time before smiling, gently moving Huanhuan’s head onto his shoulder: ”Tomorrow we’ll video call her. If she’s free, I’ll take you to see her, okay?”

”Okay! Thanks, dad!”

Huanhuan replied happily to Mu Yichen’s deep and patient voice, then she kissed him on the cheek.

Mu Yichen was truly doting on his daughter, so he didn’t say much more, just thinking that she might have gotten busy again.

Workaholic!

She rested for a few months the year before last, didn’t expect last year to be fully busy, and she still hasn’t stopped.

Lately, he’s been seeing the news about her, dazzling in public, but he doesn’t know how much hardship she endures privately.

Also, she still smokes.

Yesterday, he saw a photo of her at the bar with friends on social media, holding a cigarette.

Someone said that when she smiles, there’s always a hint of weariness. Does she realize it herself?

The next day, Huanhuan excitedly told her brother that dad was going to take them to Paris to spend Christmas with Qin Mu. When Feng Fanghua heard this, Mu Yichen was stopped as soon as he came downstairs.

”You’re taking them to Paris?”

Feng Fanghua frowned, clearly nervous.

”Yeah! They want to spend the holiday with Qin Mu, and I’ve promised not to prevent them from seeing her, so...”

”So what? They’re not allowed to go, and you can’t go either!”

Feng Fanghua interrupted him coldly, giving orders.

”Mom, you’re being a bit unreasonable!”

Mu Yichen protested gently, finding it hard to watch.

”You’ve just made some progress with Chen Xiaoyi, and now you’re going to Paris, what if Qin Mu sees you and thinks you want to reconcile?”

Feng Fanghua voiced her concern.

”I wish she were that sentimental!”

Mu Yichen gave a bitter smile.

Feng Fanghua understood: ”Are you hoping she thinks that way?”

”I never said that!”

Mu Yichen calmly denied.

”I don’t care. You’re not going. If you’re going, take Chen Xiaoyi with you!”

Feng Fanghua reconsidered and suddenly changed her mind.

”They’re spending Christmas with Qin Mu, what’s the point of taking Chen Xiaoyi?”

”I have my plans!”

Feng Fanghua was reluctant to answer Mu Yichen’s question.

”Do you think having Chen Xiaoyi there will make Qin Mu sad? You’re overthinking it; nothing will change. She gave up a long time ago.”

Mu Yichen showed some disappointment in his last words.

Feng Fanghua didn’t know why, but she also felt a bit of pain.

Stubbornly looking at her son, she could see the sadness in his seemingly carefree eyes.

”Why are you acting like a fool? If it’s like you say, that she gave up on you, then what about the kids? I see that they’re always thinking of meeting her. What if one word from her and they want to stay there? If you lose my grandchildren, I’ll die right in front of you.”

Feng Fanghua, in her excitement, spoke rashly.

”Don’t worry, I won’t give you that chance.”

Mu Yichen raised his hand, gently patting her shoulder.

After Mu Yichen left, Feng Fanghua was still uneasy. After thinking it over, she decided to call Chen Xiaoyi.

Mu Yichen was idle for a long time in the office after arriving. He looked at some documents, feeling frustrated, unable to focus, so he glanced at his phone again.
