His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2159: Chapter 625: One Year Later (2) Returning to the City to Settle Accounts (3)

Mu Yichen walked over, squatted down beside the toys scattered all over the floor, feeling a bit of a headache, but that wasn’t the point. He looked up at his precious son, knowing the little guy had a lot on his mind.

”He’s not my guest, so why should I greet him?”

Chengcheng muttered, watching his dad walk over, deliberately got up, and walked aside with the remote control. Mu Yichen turned his head to look at him and asked with a cold smile, ”So you mean he’s my guest, then?”

”Isn’t it grandma who found the guest for you! The woman likes you a lot, aren’t you going to keep her company?”

Chengcheng continued muttering, clearly full of grievances but not shouting them out, sullenly as if he could really swallow his anger.

”Mu Chengyang, what trick are you trying to play now?”

Mu Yichen frowned, glanced at him, and asked.

”I’m just a kid, what tricks can I play? But you, isn’t it that you don’t like my mom anymore? Didn’t you say my mom doesn’t care about you? I see that woman downstairs seems very attentive to you. If she marries you, surely everything will be smooth with her, a hundred times better than my mom, why don’t you go stay with her?”

As Chengcheng spoke, he got more and more irritated, his dad really stressed him out, feeling a bit sad after speaking and looked at Mu Yichen.

Mu Yichen looked at him too, and only asked in a low voice, ”Who said she wants to marry me? Even if she wants to marry me, does that mean I have to marry her?”

”So you don’t like her?”

Chengcheng, hearing this, got excited, his big eyes immediately lit up.

”If I liked her, would I still be in your room right now?”

Mu Yichen’s deep voice questioned Chengcheng again.

”Then why don’t you tell her to leave? Please tell her to go! I hate her, she’s so fake, she’s nowhere near as cute as my mom!”

Chengcheng pounced over immediately, almost knocking him over, started acting spoiled and unruly in his arms.

”Your mom is cute?”

Mu Yichen was amused, yet slightly overwhelmed.

He thought to himself, I once thought she was cute too, but despite her cuteness, she asked for a divorce.

”But didn’t you always hold mom and refuse to let go? You drove mom away, now my sister and I have become pathetic without a mom, kids at school look down on me, without mom around, my sister and I aren’t happy, are you happy?”

Chengcheng pulled a long face, but his eyes were eagerly looking at Mu Yichen, afraid to miss the look of desolation in his father’s eyes.

”Do I look happy to you?”

Mu Yichen asked, genuinely feeling a bit frustrated.

Chengcheng stared at him for a moment, then shook his head vigorously.

”But your mom isn’t coming back, and we have to continue living,”

Mu Yichen suddenly seemed to have endless patience, explaining gently to his son.

”What if mom comes back?”

Seeing his dad’s sadness, Chengcheng thought, maybe I can persuade mom to come back, no, coax her back.

”How could she ever come back? She’s convinced your dad is an unworthy jerk,”

Mu Yichen couldn’t forget the look of despair in Qin Mu’s eyes that night. She left without any reluctance; she always valued family the most, and she gave up on that, how could she ever return?

This past year in Paris, she made waves; he watched as the gossip news there was full of her interviews and reports. Yet whenever someone asked if she’d get back with Mu Yichen, she always smiled and said two words, no.

She also started accepting commercial shoots again, and for a while, she became universally known in Paris. JY became much more popular than the previous years because of the popularity she brought with her ads.

She finally became what she aspired to be, a shrewd, capable, independent, and free-spirited career woman. Why would she leave the glamorous world of Paris to come back?

”What if mom returns, would you try to keep her? Dad, I think you still love mom, right?”

”You’re just a kid, what do you know about love?”

Mu Yichen furrowed his brow, feeling that the conversation was getting out of hand.

”Dad, I think you’re quite pitiful too, without mom around, all three of us are quite pitiful. But grandma, why does she have to find you another woman? Why does she have to find me and my sister a stepmother?”

Chengcheng was unhappy; he couldn’t understand what was wrong with his grandma, who previously seemed like part of the family with his mom, but now insisted on having him and Huanhuan greet another woman with smiles every day.

”Your grandma has her own plans, you kids shouldn’t overthink it. It’s late, go see if your sister’s done with her homework, and come down for dinner together.”

Mu Yichen suddenly became more serious. Chengcheng glanced at him and dared not continue acting spoiled, so he agreed and turned to leave.

Mu Yichen stood up and sighed helplessly; that little guy, at such a young age, was already thinking about him?

After getting off the plane, Qin Mu put on a pair of the trendiest black sunglasses, slung a new Chanel bag over her shoulder, and walked briskly through the VIP passage.

The sky in Rongcheng was still so blue, and so cold.

Qin Mu, wearing a dark navy coat, black trousers, and black high heels, intended to head straight to her store after exiting the VIP passage, but upon stepping out, she was suddenly surrounded by a crowd.

She couldn’t tell how many cameras were aimed at her at the same time, snapping away incessantly; she even heard some screams, some seemed to be calling her name.

Oh dear!

A year away, and she’s famous?

But dressed so plainly, wearing such dark sunglasses, she still got recognized?

The people in Rongcheng must have sharp eyes.

Surrounded and not knowing how many autographs she had signed, with some microphones pointed at her, incessantly asking the purpose of her visit, Qin Mu was annoyed but could only smile and say she was home to visit. Just as she was wondering how to exit the situation, a familiar voice suddenly came from behind.

”Qin Mu!”

Li Yu, wearing JY’s latest winter coat, walked gracefully from behind, and seven or eight bodyguards, following his cue, held back the fans surrounding Qin Mu.

Qin Mu turned her head to see him, almost moved to tears.

”It’s him again, so vibrant and elegant, Li Yu.”

Qin Mu smiled, complimenting him.

Li Yu lowered his head slightly, his smile surprisingly a bit shy.

”Let’s leave here first!”

But after glancing around, Li Yu whispered to her.

Qin Mu nodded, and Li Yu, in a gentlemanly manner, wrapped his arm around her, leading her out.
