His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2172: Chapter 630: One Year Later (7) — The Little One Has a Fever

It seems all the feelings were lost in that argument last year; we really can’t withstand endless suspicions and debates anymore.

But if they don’t say it out, there will never be a conclusion between them.

Qin Mu almost shouted out, but in the end, she only asked him hoarsely after suffering: ”Mu Yichen, I can go see Grandpa, but can we first settle the matter about the children? I’m begging you!”

Mu Yichen, however, had no intention of agreeing with her. Listening to her hoarse voice, he only said: ”You go back first tonight; if you stay in Rongcheng, you can see them anytime. But if you go back to Paris, it will remain the same as before.”

After saying this, Mu Yichen glanced at his watch. The watch he wore now was still the one she gave him back then, and her wrist also had the same one; even the change of the strap was a couples’ model.

”I’m going to a meeting. If you’re free, stay and wait for me to have lunch together; if you disapprove, suit yourself!”

After these final cold words, Mu Yichen gave her a look, then left.

After Mu Yichen left, he closed the door behind her. Qin Mu sat inside, thinking over and over, realizing there was no point in saying certain things...

She lifted her head, her tear-stained face staring at his desk.

Later, she sat behind his desk, found a piece of letter paper, and prepared to write down what she couldn’t say aloud using his pen. However, when she picked up the pen, her eyes were inadvertently attracted to it.

Wasn’t this pen the one she gave him for his birthday that year?

Qin Mu still remembered the scene: she sat on his lap deliberately teasing him, telling him to use it forever and ever.

So...

When Qin Mu left, she folded the written letter and placed it on the desk, with the pen on the paper.

Mu Yichen returned to the top floor and heard Xi Meng say that Qin Mu had already left. Though displeased, he headed back to his office first.

Just when he pushed the door open, he couldn’t help but wonder if she might actually still be inside.

But lifting his eyes, the sofa was empty, with no trace of her presence left behind.

Mu Yichen went behind the desk, feeling a bit irritated, and sat down inside. Raising his eyes...

His hand stretched out, clean fingers gently holding the pen, putting it aside, then unfolding the folded paper.

”I’m going to see Grandpa after lunch, Brother Yichen. I hope that you will be well in the future, but can you promise me to keep Chengcheng and Huanhuan happy? Or maybe you will say that since the day I go to Paris, they are destined not to be happy. Today, I want to argue it’s not like that; they can still be happy. They’re naturally optimistic, how could they not be happy? Unless it’s you, not letting them be happy. Today I’ve come just to ask, if you want to be together with Miss Chen, could you move out of the Mu Mansion? The elders won’t give the children to me; I’m clearer on this than anyone. I only ask that the siblings don’t have to spend too much time with Miss Chen, okay?”

Qin Mu had lunch with Li Yu and Wen Runuan, then went to Mu Mansion by herself afterward.

Unexpectedly, everyone was at home.

Feng Fanghua and Mu Zihao were both at home, the old man was there too, as well as Chengcheng and Huanhuan, all at home.

Mu Yichen sat in the sofa, feeling more like sitting on pins than the first time he came to the Mu Family.

”Huanhuan, go play with your brother in the playroom for a while, Grandma has something to say to your mom.”

Feng Fanghua softly instructed the two little ones always by Qin Mu’s side.

Huanhuan was reluctant, instinctively looking up at Qin Mu: ”Then Mom, don’t leave like this. Even if you have to leave, say goodbye to me and brother.”

”Don’t worry, go on!”

Qin Mu gently told her.

Only then did Huanhuan and Chengcheng leave reluctantly.

At this moment, Feng Fanghua’s expression also became stern, just like the first time she met her.

”Mumu just got back, hasn’t adjusted to the time difference yet?”

Mu Zihao saw his wife was about to assert her authority, quickly tried to change the topic, also intending to remind Feng Fanghua to be mindful and not too harsh.

”It’s fine!”

Qin Mu smiled as she spoke, knowing she disappointed the elders, so her voice was also soft.

”You may be fine, but what about Yichen? What about those two kids? It’s one thing that you left, but why come back now?”

Feng Fanghua was even more displeased hearing her say it’s fine.

A year without seeing her, Feng Fanghua was still the same Feng Fanghua.

”It’s because Chengcheng got hurt!”

Mu Zihao chimed in for Qin Mu seeing her in a difficult position.
