His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2156: Chapter 624: One Year Later (1) - Little Devils Take the Lead (3)

Chengcheng also mumbled, still a bit scared. He always felt that his dad couldn’t let go of his mom, just pretending to be tough, but he was also afraid of a slim chance. His sister also said that the aunt was always dressing up so beautifully to go to their house, it was very likely to make their dad forget their mom. So he had no plans to let any of the elders in the family know about this, only he and his sister knew.

”If you’re not at ease, let’s do a pinky promise!”

Qin Mingzhu felt a bit distressed seeing him so young and considering everything so thoroughly, so she extended her little finger.

Helian Hao sighed helplessly, ”Qin Mingzhu, don’t be so childish like a kid, okay? Just promise not to tell!”

”I’m not childish!”

Before Qin Mingzhu could say anything, Chengcheng had already retorted.

”Alright, alright, you’re not childish, the two of us are the childish ones, alright?”

Helian Hao quickly nodded in agreement with him. Chengcheng was obviously not happy, but he pretended to be mature and didn’t argue any further, just folding his arms tightly in front of him. That expression was very much like Qin Mu, who also loved that gesture.

”Young master, let’s head back. The elders will start to worry if we linger any longer!”

The driver was outside, calling him in a nervous whisper.

Chengcheng sighed helplessly after hearing this, ”I have to go back. Today’s school escape is over.”

He jumped off the sofa and then carried his backpack and left.

The driver nodded at the two of them, and Helian Hao also nodded in return. But seeing them leave, she couldn’t help feeling a little sad.

”Chengcheng has really changed a lot this past year!”

”Isn’t that the truth! As soon as Qin Mu left, not even a month later, the siblings changed completely. Most children without a mother become despondent and sad, but these two siblings, one after another, are like little emperors! Their temper has grown, wisdom has grown, their crafty ideas have grown, and their mischief-making skills have become unmatched!”

Qin Mingzhu complained about her little nephew without holding back. Helian Hao couldn’t help but laugh after hearing this, then glanced at her phone and said to Qin Mingzhu, ”Let’s send this to Qin Mu!”

Qin Mingzhu stared at her phone and nodded.

Helian Hao picked up her phone and first sent a picture to Qin Mu, then wrote a message: ”A little boy abused by his stepmother, this is as much as we can help, it’s up to you if you want to take action!”

Qin Mu had just started work, and upon returning to the office, she saw unread WeChat messages on her phone. Upon checking, she was a bit confused.

A little boy abused by his stepmother?

Who?

Why send me such a WeChat message?

Qin Mu glanced at the profile picture to confirm it was from her, then pulled up a chair to sit down.

Her sharp eyes moved slightly, the long lashes lowered, and she gazed at the phone screen, typing heavily: ”What episode is this now? Clarify a bit?”

Seeing her online, the sisters immediately went to the upstairs office and initiated a video call to her.

Qin Mu opened the call, still frowning: ”What are you two up to? Why send me that photo?”

”Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten your own son’s face?”

Helian Hao held her breath and questioned her.

”Exactly! My little nephew is about to be so abused that he ran away from home, and you’re asking us what we’re up to?”

Qin Mingzhu squeezed beside Helian Hao, showing her face with a very fitting expression to question Qin Mu.

”Of course I remember my own son, as if we don’t keep in touch,—so you two mean that photo is of Chengcheng injured?”

Qin Mu thought about it again and again, it didn’t make sense, so she muttered to herself.

”Yes! Chengcheng just secretly came to us, asking us to think of a way to help him, but what could two outsiders like us do? The matter can only be resolved by you, you’d better come back. If necessary, sue that Mu person, bring the kids to Paris, you can’t let a malicious stepmother torment your son to death!”

Qin Mingzhu nodded her head, her performance becoming livelier and more realistic. Helian Hao sneaked a thumbs up to her, and Qin Mingzhu winked at Helian Hao, indicating she knew her acting was superb when Qin Mu wasn’t looking.

Suddenly, Qin Mu felt a bit lost inside, a malicious stepmother?

Mu Yichen...

Found another woman?

Her heart pounded as if it had been kicked several times, a dull pain.

But her face didn’t show much negative emotion, she just asked in confusion: ”Mu Yichen found another woman?”

As if discussing a far-off relative’s business, very casually.

”You didn’t know? That woman goes to the Mu family for dinner every so often, it’s said she sometimes goes back in the middle of the night, probably because your two darlings make a fuss not allowing her to stay the night, maybe they’ve been involved for a long time!”

Qin Mingzhu continued talking, the more she spoke, the more her brain became active, she had already woven an entire plotline.

Helian Hao felt a bit nervous, sneakily pulling at Qin Mingzhu under the table, afraid Qin Mingzhu might provoke Qin Mu to an extreme.

Qin Mingzhu hadn’t had enough, continuing to say to the woman in the video whose expression was already turning not quite right: ”My dear sister, I know you’ve given up treatment for brother-in-law, you can do without brother-in-law, but can we not care for the kids? That woman may seem like a little white rabbit, pleasing everyone, fooling brother-in-law into feeling so elated, but behind the scenes, look at Chengcheng’s injuries, you know Chengcheng’s nature, unless he’s absolutely wronged and can’t bear it, how would he come to us to complain?”

The more Qin Mu listened, the stranger it all felt, she just felt like her brain was about to shut down, sighing lightly in helplessness, she then asked: ”So you’re saying that woman was already approved by the Mu family’s elders?”

To enter the Mu family, she definitely had to be approved by the elders.

”You didn’t know? That woman was personally chosen by your mother-in-law for your husband, no, your ex-husband, she said you were too arrogant, had a bad temper, didn’t care about home, didn’t take care of brother-in-law, so she specially found a gentle and understanding little white rabbit for him. They even said that after the marriage, the woman would be a housewife at home to take care of your two darlings.”

Helian Hao couldn’t listen any longer, she pinched Qin Mingzhu’s thigh, Qin Mingzhu turned in pain to see Helian Hao’s resistant gaze, only then did she stop acting.
