His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2188: Chapter 636: One Year Later (13) Are You Going with Me to Handle the Formalities?

That afternoon, a light rain was falling. Qin Mu drove to the school and saw the Mu Family’s butler waiting for Huanhuan to finish school. Once she saw Huanhuan get into the Mu Family’s car, she left as well.

She just kept driving, circling around the city several times, feeling as though she had nowhere to go. For two consecutive days, Mu Yichen hadn’t contacted her, yet he had Xiang Hang constantly monitor her.

She couldn’t leave, nor did she have anywhere to go in the city. Qin Mu drove to a place near the seaside and suddenly remembered a place, so she turned the car towards the dock.

She took a boat to the island, and by then, it was already dark.

Raindrops fell from the sky, splashing into the sea, becoming a trivial part of the vast ocean.

Qin Mu took a shower and sat on the balcony upstairs, thinking to herself that sitting idly on the island waiting for death wasn’t bad either.

The identity of Chen Xiaoyi was quickly revealed by netizens; she turned out to be the daughter of a bank’s Asia-Pacific Region president.

Qin Mu understood Feng Fanghua’s intentions—matching statuses, truly appropriate.

That was likely the image of the in-laws Feng Fanghua had always wanted. Chen Xiaoyi’s parents had been married for decades and had a great relationship, while Chen Xiaoyi was obedient, lovable, modest, and well-behaved.

Qin Mu suddenly realized the reason Mu Qingxin hadn’t been actively contacting her anymore because Mu Qingxin already knew her mother’s intentions and didn’t feel it was appropriate to chat idly with Qin Mu.

The fridge was empty, and Qin Mu sighed helplessly when she felt hungry at night and went downstairs to look at the empty fridge.

There was still some rice in the cupboard; she looked at it and thought it should be fine to eat, so she found a pot to cook porridge.

When she heard the doorbell ring, she had already put the rice in the pot and just finished setting the porridge to cook. Frightened by the sudden ringing sound, she slowly walked to the door.

Outside the door, Xiang Hang?

Qin Mu quickened her pace, and Xiang Hang was carrying some food.

”Brother Hang, you...”

”I brought you something to eat!”

Xiang Hang raised the bag in his hand, and Qin Mu was so touched that she almost cried.

”Wang Li said you have a slight cold and asked me to bring you cold medicine, as well as other things she bought. Check to see if anything is missing, and I’ll go buy it.”

After Xiang Hang came in, he explained to her and opened the bag for her to see.

Qin Mu smiled, ”As long as there’s food, I’m good. I was just worrying that I’d have to drink porridge for dinner.”

”Since you’re sick, you still need to take medicine. I really can’t cook, so you’ll have to make do.”

Xiang Hang felt somewhat awkward and glanced around, unexpectedly realizing it felt cold.

”Is the air conditioning off?”

Xiang Hang asked her.

”Couldn’t find the remote, doesn’t matter!”

Qin Mu thought for a moment—it would be okay to be cold, she’d go to bed after eating, and there was a blanket, so she wouldn’t freeze.

”I’ll look for it. Wouldn’t Yichen know?”

Xiang Hang wanted to find it, but the villa was so big, there wasn’t anywhere to search for the time being, so he thought of Mu Yichen.

Qin Mu was carrying the bag to the kitchen and hurriedly turned her head when she heard him mention Mu Yichen, reminding him, ”Don’t call him!”

Xiang Hang...

Qin Mu felt relieved only when she saw Xiang Hang put his phone back in his pocket, then she went to make food.

She really didn’t want to call Mu Yichen in the middle of the night. Aside from the fact that their current relationship wasn’t quite right, he was now in a relationship with Miss Chen, and as someone from the past, how could she interrupt?

However, even though Xiang Hang didn’t call him, Xiang Hang’s phone soon rang. While Xiang Hang was searching for the remote, he received Mu Yichen’s call and instinctively asked, ”Boss, do you know where the air conditioning remote is on the island?”

”She went to the island?”

Mu Yichen had just arrived home. Hearing this question, his brows knitted together.

”Uh! Yes!”

Xiang Hang thought, oh no, he had just sold Qin Mu out.

”Why didn’t you tell me earlier? Stay there with her.”

Mu Yichen immediately hung up the phone.

Chen Xiaoyi had just arrived at the Mu Family, and upon entering, she saw Mu Yichen coming out, wearing a coat, seemingly about to leave.

”Yichen, are you going out?”

Chen Xiaoyi felt a bit hurt but still asked with a smile.

”I’ve got something to do! Make yourself at home!”

Mu Yichen nodded, told her to feel at home, then left.

Feng Fanghua followed from inside: ”Where are you going? It’s time to eat, can’t you eat before leaving?”

There was no response.

Feng Fanghua frowned in worry, but seeing a hint of sadness on Chen Xiaoyi’s face, she took her hand: ”Come on! Don’t catch a cold standing at the entrance. The kitchen specifically prepared your favorite dishes today; you shouldn’t refuse because Yichen isn’t here.”
