His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2136: Chapter 616: Picking Flowers

Xi Meng looked at Qin Mu’s expression and guessed Qin Mu’s thoughts. Perhaps Mu Yichen’s call came at just the right time, or maybe her interaction with Qin Mingzhu was exactly what Qin Mu wanted!

However, she was actually willing to fulfill Qin Mu’s wish!

After lunch, Qin Mu returned to the store, helped greet customers for a while, and was already a bit tired when she got back to the office, later falling asleep on the sofa with her coat on.

When she woke up in a daze, she felt her head resting on something soft and warm, even having the illusion of lying on his lap.

Mu Yichen leaned on the sofa, gently stroking her hair. When he noticed her waking up, his dark eyes locked onto hers.

The office was quiet for too long, and she gradually opened her eyes. Her throat was still a bit uncomfortable, and at a glance, she saw that she was indeed on someone else’s body. A turn of her head revealed the man looking down at her.

It turned out it wasn’t an illusion.

Mu Yichen’s lips moved slightly, then he smiled and asked her, ”Did you sleep well?”

”Hmm! When did you get here?”

Could he say it was half an hour ago? He didn’t want to disturb her sleeping soundly, but he wanted to cuddle with her, so he moved her onto himself, let her lie on his lap.

She, however, rolled over and slept soundly. Mu Yichen’s eyes were full of stars, looking at her so tenderly, as if to light up all the dark roads for her.

”Just now!”

His voice was gentle, and his hand was still softly stroking her hair.

Qin Mu raised her arms, and Mu Yichen cooperatively lowered his head. Qin Mu hugged his neck and gave him a heartfelt kiss, not just a peck, but full of deep emotion.

When it ended, Qin Mu looked at him with a smile, ”You always sneak out from work so early to accompany me, just like when you used to skip extra classes to be with me when we were kids.”

Mu Yichen said nothing, just held her face in his hands, and she still remembered those times, infinitely gratified.

”Why aren’t you talking?”

Qin Mu’s hand touched the corner of his mouth, always feeling that he smiled like this, lacking sincerity.

”Just looking at you feels really good!”

As if till the end of time.

It took Qin Mu a while to digest his words. She turned around, buried her face in his chest, not letting him see her face.

”Shall we go home? Since you slept here, you can sleep less tonight.”

Mu Yichen chuckled and reminded her in a low voice.

Qin Mu listened to this and always felt something was off. Before she could figure it out, they were already on their way home.

Halfway through, her phone rang. She couldn’t remember the number, but she knew who it was.

Mu Yichen saw her holding the phone for a long time without answering, so he said to her, ”Answer it!”

Qin Mu glanced at him, wondering when her husband became so tolerant?

”Put it on speaker!”

Then, the next moment, Mu Yichen’s calm voice made her know that her husband was never tolerant about such things.

However, Qin Mu comforted herself. It’s okay, at least it means he’s a bit more genuine, then she answered the call.

Qin Mu put it on speaker, ”Hello?”

”Are you in the city center or at the studio? I heard you’ve been often at the city center store recently. Shall we have dinner together?”

Gongzhi Ping’an’s clear voice was like some spring water, a little cold in this winter.

”Not tonight, we’re already on our way home!”

Qin Mu subconsciously offered a friendly reminder.

”You? Yichen came to pick you up?”

Gongzhi Ping’an was also driving, actually about to arrive at the JY Store, his expression still bright, but with a hint of melancholy in his eyes.

”Hmm!”

Qin Mu replied and subconsciously looked at Mu Yichen.

Gongzhi Ping’an was silent for a while, so silent that Qin Mu thought he had hung up.

”Alright then, since it’s inconvenient today, let’s reschedule for another day. If you’re busy tonight, how about lunch another day? There are a few of the same age who want to hang out with you, saying you’ve been back for years and never joined them for gatherings, feeling a bit aloof!”

Qin Mu...

”Oh, alright! We’ll talk about it later then?”

Qin Mu didn’t really want to agree directly, so she asked him tactfully.

”Alright! I’ll hang up first. There’s something else here. Let’s reschedule for another day!”

Gongzhi Ping’an finished and hung up, a very calm conversation.

But after hanging up, Qin Mu sighed helplessly. It wasn’t because Mu Yichen was by her side; she just never wanted to reunite with childhood friends to ’discuss feelings’ after twenty years.

They had an average relationship when they were kids, and after twenty years of no contact, one can imagine what would happen in a reunion. She’s not the type who likes to be friendly with others.
