His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2118: Chapter 607: Not Someone You Want to Mess With (Second Update)

”Little An Zi? What are you doing here?”

Qiao Yi looked at the person sitting diagonally opposite him and thought that he had specifically chosen such a low-profile Western restaurant to avoid being seen by friends or anyone familiar. But unexpectedly, he still ran into someone he knew.

”What? Afraid of being seen by me?”

Gongzhi Ping’an smiled as he looked at him and asked.

”Hmph!”

Qiao Yi chuckled. What was he afraid of? As long as it wasn’t Mu Yichen who saw him.

Gongzhi Ping’an then turned his head to Qin Mu and gestured to the waiter, ”Get me the same lunch as this young lady.”

”Please wait a moment!”

The waiter bowed politely, finished speaking, and then walked away.

”This might not suit your taste!”

Qin Mu finally spoke up.

”Food is first a matter of filling our stomachs; whether it’s tasty is secondary.”

Gongzhi Ping’an withdrew his gaze and before she felt uncomfortable, turned back to view Qiao Yi: ”Shouldn’t you be with Brother Yichen? How come you are with Qin Mu instead?”

”I needed to discuss some matters with Qin Mu today; how about you? Why are you here alone?”

Qiao Yi didn’t answer his question in detail and casually changed the subject.

”Finished a task nearby, got hungry, and came in.”

Gongzhi Ping’an recalled seeing their cars in the parking lot, told his subordinates to leave, and then entered on his own.

”Heard you recently got a girlfriend, she visited you, and she’s quite pretty?”

During the meal, Qiao Yi chatted with him intermittently.

”A fleeting romance; how can it be called a girlfriend?”

Gongzhi Ping’an took a bite of food, found the taste indeed feminine, but didn’t push it away, and before eating other dishes, explained to Qiao Yi.

”A fleeting romance?”

Qiao Yi studied these four words and then chuckled.

Qin Mu also disliked these four words, especially coming from a man’s mouth; it showed how much sincerity this man had for those women he had known.

Of course, he didn’t deny it himself.

”Affairs of the heart cannot be forced.”

Gongzhi Ping’an added.

”So this woman now...”

”She said she wanted to work in the city, so I helped her find a job.”

Gongzhi Ping’an said, lightly sighing in helplessness. Originally, he didn’t want to get entangled, but the woman kept stepping back. It made him feel too heartless to persist, so he helped her find a job. Now she comes to see him every day, making him incredibly frustrated, and he can’t deny that he brought trouble upon himself, yet he can’t get rid of it.

”Last time I invited you for a meal, you said you were busy. So why is it that when I invite you, you’re busy, but when Old Qiao invites you, you’re available?”

Gongzhi Ping’an suddenly shifted the topic. Qin Mu slightly smiled, ”I really was busy then.”

”Forget it! If I were to argue with you, wouldn’t I be acting like a woman? Besides, it’s not like I don’t know the reason!”

He spoke to himself, raised a wine glass, and took a sip.

Qin Mu’s lowered eyes moved slightly, and she unconsciously looked towards the man opposite. Qiao Yi frowned at her and then watched Gongzhi Ping’an, as if trying to read something from their expressions.

After the meal, the three left. Qin Mu didn’t ask Qiao Yi to keep it a secret. Of course, she knew Qiao Yi would definitely go tell Mu Yichen something unless he wanted today’s lunch to be known.

Gongzhi Ping’an’s car parted ways with her at the fork ahead, while Qiao Yi returned to the office building. Upon returning, he ran into Zhao Huai and Mu Yichen, who were coming back from lunch. He trembled inside, instinctively smiled at the two: ”You two had lunch together today?”

”Yes! We called you, but you said you were busy. How could I not know you have something?”

The three walked inside, Zhao Huai asked while they went, and their bond was close enough that they shared everything except marital secrets.

”Hmph! Of course not everything about me is known by you. Who do you think you are?”

Qiao Yi raised his hand, hooked Zhao Huai’s shoulder, joking as they walked.

Mu Yichen walked alongside, seemingly indifferent to their conversation; such interactions were just too normal.

In the afternoon, Gongzhi Ping’an posted on WeChat Moments, with a picture of pasta, captioned: Her taste is quite special.

This post was seen by many, who couldn’t guess who ’she’ was, but suspected he must have someone he likes.

Both Qiao Yi and Qin Mu saw the post, each harboring their thoughts.

Qiao Yi texted Qin Mu: ”What’s up with this guy?”

Qin Mu: ”How should I know?”

Qiao Yi: ”You better not contact him much; this guy is trouble.”
