His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2130: Chapter 613: Listen to Your Husband (Second Update)

”That kid Little An Zi, last time at Jixiang Restaurant he gave me and Old Jing a seat. His father plans to propose a marriage for him, coincidentally with my old comrade’s beloved granddaughter, so I’m just returning his favor!”

The old man explained.

Qin Mu heard the crack of her waist, the sound of bones snapping, turned around to give the small bottle in her hand to the aunt, then wiped her hands on her body and called Huanhuan and Chengcheng: ”I’ll take you to wash your hands.”

”Oh!”

The two little ones were reluctant, but they followed Qin Mu to the bathroom.

As the three of them entered the bathroom, the Gongzhi Family arrived at the house, their cheerful voices never ceasing.

Qin Mu leaned against the door, watching the siblings scatter petals into the water. Usually, they were told to wash their hands under running water, but they never listened, and today, they were even more disobedient.

”It’s as beautiful as on TV!”

Huanhuan couldn’t help but express her admiration, Chengcheng said nothing, just looked at his sister, thinking she was being silly. Although Qin Mu watched her son and daughter playing, her ears couldn’t help but listen to the conversation outside.

Gongzhi Ping’an’s father brought him to the old man to discuss a marriage proposal. Qin Mu thought about it; since she entered the Mu Family, it was the first time she saw Gongzhi Ping’an’s elders visit the house as guests, and on such a big occasion.

”Where is your daughter-in-law? It’s her first time here, I prepared a small gift for her.”

Gongzhi Ping’an’s father said.

”Oh! She went to the bathroom with the kids; those little ones took a handful of petals, surely they’re playing with them. It’s not too late to give it later; she’s a youngster, how could she accept your gift?”

Mu Zihao exchanged pleasantries with Gongzhi Ping’an’s father.

”When Yichen married her, I didn’t give them anything decent, I’ve always meant to make it up.”

Mu Yichen sat there not saying much, but upon hearing this he smiled: ”I accept your kindness on behalf of my wife.”

He wasn’t shy, in the stunned gazes of everyone he reached out for the box in Gongzhi Ping’an’s father’s hand.

”This kid, becoming more and more unruly!”

Feng Fanghua murmured softly, blaming her son.

”Their relationship is good, it doesn’t matter who it’s given to.”

Gongzhi Ping’an’s father said with a smile, seeming to have an incredibly good temper.

As Mu Yichen opened the box, Feng Fanghua couldn’t help but glance, discovering a fine jade pendant.

”How can it be such a valuable gift, how can that young couple bear it?”

Feng Fanghua immediately said.

This piece of jade, the Gongzhi Family only has two pieces, Feng Fanghua and Mu Zihao know that the fate of Gongzhi Ping’an’s parents’ marriage was due to these two jade pendants, one dragon and one phoenix.

”Why can’t they bear it? After all, it’s just a jade pendant.”

Mu Yichen held the jade for a while, still cool, he heard Gongzhi Ping’an’s father’s words, gave a faint smile, then put it back in the box: ”This jade pendant can stay here now. When Little An Zi gets married, I’ll return it as a gift.”

He said as he placed it on his side; naturally, such a gift couldn’t be accepted, even if Qin Mu liked it, he’d rather find someone to make an identical one, but he absolutely wouldn’t let Qin Mu keep it.

”You have to show it to Qin Mu, right? After all, it is a gift for her!”

Gongzhi Ping’an, sitting next to them, spoke up, slightly displeased with Mu Yichen’s attitude.

”An Zi, I’ve heard your luck with women has been great lately? Still need blind dates?”

Mu Yichen smiled at him, but the hidden coldness in his eyes was evident as Gongzhi Ping’an raised his eyes.

Gongzhi Ping’an laughed, saying: ”It’s just some wildflowers and weeds, how can they enter our Gongzhi Family’s door?”

This statement, heard by the elders, seemed earnest.

In these families, they say they don’t care about matching status, but it’s forced; who wouldn’t want their children to find a wife with some means?

Even when Qin Mu could enter this big Mu family house back then, wasn’t it because she had a mayor for a father? Although their relationship was poor at the time, the blood ties were still there, Feng Fanghua thought it all through before allowing Qin Mu to enter.

When Qin Mu came out holding her child, the aunt just came out saying the food was ready, so the crowd headed to the dining room. Qin Mu simply greeted them, calling ”Uncle,” and had the children call ”Grandpa” and ”Uncle.”

”Uncle is giving you a grand gift, let’s see if you can accept it?”

Mu Yichen reached the table and handed the gift box to Qin Mu.

Mu Zihao was helping the gentlemen pour wine, and Mu Yichen’s sudden remark made Mu Zihao can’t resist looking up at his son, thinking this kid can hardly hold his excitement.

By looking at his expression, Qin Mu guessed his thoughts. This gift she could not accept, but she still opened it cooperatively for a look, even Chengcheng and Huanhuan couldn’t resist running over to see.

”Wow! It’s so beautiful, mom!”

”Indeed, very pretty!”

The little ones really liked the piece; despite having all sorts of treasures at home, it was their first time seeing such a beautiful jade pendant, so they couldn’t resist reaching out their fingers. Qin Mu immediately closed the box, ”Don’t touch recklessly, sit back down to eat!”

Qin Mu softly reminded them.

”Oh!”

Like remembering something, the sister led and the brother followed, returning to their seats.

”These little ones are really well-behaved. I wonder when Gongzhi Ping’an is going to get married and have kids so I can enjoy the perks of being a grandpa.”

Gongzhi Ping’an’s father gazed at Huanhuan and Chengcheng feeling troubled. His son was no longer young, yet he showed no intention of marrying.

”Isn’t that what I’m here for? Tomorrow I’ll go ask around. If Little An Zi puts his heart into it, maybe he’ll succeed. Don’t want to hold your grandson soon?”

The old man held his wine glass, finally drinking a sip at the dinner table, savoring the aroma was enjoyable, speaking boldly.

”You don’t have to be married to have children, Uncle, don’t worry so much. A dashing young man like An Zi probably already has one out there, you know?”

Mu Zihao smiled, seemingly comforting.

Qin Mu kept her head down, wanting to say the least tonight at this table, not daring to speak, so she quietly ate, eager to find an excuse to leave once finished.

Gongzhi Ping’an looked at Mu Yichen, then laughed, ”Yichen, I used to like Qin Mu, but that’s all in the past! Now, with you happily married and children aplenty, how could I ever steal from you? Don’t tease me, my good brother!”

Mu Yichen also smiled, listening to Gongzhi Ping’an’s dramatic words, slightly turned to look at the man sitting diagonally, ”I was just guessing, don’t take it to heart, your liking for your sister-in-law is trivial.”

Trivial?

Gongzhi Ping’an’s face slightly darkened but quickly smiled again.

The elders watched the brothers seeming to secretly conflict, a bit awkward, but with no effect despite their signaling attempts.

”Oh, right! Are you accepting this jade pendant? Don’t blame me for not warning you, it’s the keepsake from Uncle and Aunt’s engagement, one each. If you take this one, then for An Zi’s marriage it won’t be a pair anymore!”

Mu Yichen turned to Qin Mu again, reminding her.

Qin Mu noticed his unusually chatty demeanor, understood his intent, and smiled at Gongzhi Ping’an’s father, standing up, ”Uncle! Even if Yichen hadn’t spoken, such a fine item I cannot accept.”

”Uncle and Aunt no longer see these jade pendants as crucial, otherwise they wouldn’t have sent them over to you and Yichen today. These pendants symbolize everlasting love, don’t overthink, just accept them.”

”Since the jade pendants originally come as a pair, how could they be split? Waiting for An Zi’s marriage to gift him and his wife for good luck is the best decision.”

Qin Mu said while returning the box to him.

Gongzhi Ping’an’s father nodded after listening, didn’t insist on pushing back, merely looked at Feng Fanghua and Mu Zihao, ”So I’ll keep it, and next time I’ll gift some rare item for the young couple.”

”That’s right, keep it quickly!”

Feng Fanghua, two years his senior, smiled and reminded.

”Come on, come on, these trivial matters aren’t worth mentioning, drink, drink!”

The old man saw everyone was actually awkward, so he hastily raised his glass.

While elders drank, the younger ones followed. Mu Yichen set down his glass, grasped Qin Mu’s hand, lightly kissing at the lips.

Qin Mu instinctively wanted to withdraw but Mu Yichen still held onto it, merely looking at her, his phoenix eyes half-narrowed, faintly smiling.
