His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2133: Chapter 615: Perfect Cooperation

”I really don’t know when it started. That day I went to the hotel to deliver a document to him. He might have been half asleep, heard a noise and thought it was Qin Mu looking for him, so he called me to the bed...”

Yang Qin bit her lip hard, unable to speak for a moment, but two tears fell continuously from one eye.

Xi Meng’s face suddenly turned very pale as well. Yang Qin falling in love with Mu Yichen truly shocked her.

”Who knew that just as I sat down, Qin Mu walked in. The boss told me to leave, and he never brought up the incident again. It’s just that I...”

Yang Qin bit her lip hard again, almost wanting to slap herself, wondering how she could be so shameless.

”Do you still remember what I said to you that time I visited you when you were sick?”

Xi Meng asked cautiously, her heart anxious.

Yang Qin nodded but had nothing to say.

Seeing her like this, Xi Meng felt even more disappointed, fearing that what she dreaded had come to pass.

”Xi Meng, you have to believe me, this is the last thing I wanted to happen!”

”But you still let it happen!”

Xi Meng said to her in disappointment, her face immediately losing its earlier brightness.

”Yes! It’s all my fault!”

Yang Qin whispered, her head hanging low.

”Of course it’s your fault. If every secretary fell for their boss, wouldn’t it all be office romances? And he’s a married man with a happy family. Do you know how serious a crime it would be if you ruined their marriage?”

Xi Meng said, thinking to herself that Qin Mu hadn’t called her about such a big issue—was Qin Mu upset with her, or did she not want to worry a pregnant woman?

No matter the reason, she felt deeply guilty.

”Letting you come to work in Rongcheng this past year was because of Old Qin’s and my trust in you. President Mu trusted you because of our recommendation, but Yang Qin, you... have really let me down!”

After Xi Meng said this, she thought of leaving but then realized that problems had to be solved, and walking away wouldn’t be right.

”You must have other things to say to me since you called me to meet, right?”

Xi Meng asked her again.

Yang Qin wiped her tears and nodded, but Xi Meng found her action extremely pretentious.

”Then say it!”

Xi Meng lightly touched her belly, trying to calm herself down.

”I want to resign.”

”Resign? Can’t you just apply for a transfer back?”

Xi Meng was puzzled.

Yang Qin finally dared to look at her: ”Do you think he would still want me?”

Xi Meng...

”Ever since that incident, I don’t know what the situation is between them as a couple. President Mu hasn’t mentioned it, but I can tell he’s waiting for me to bring it up myself.”

Yang Qin explained to her.

”So you’re planning to resign?”

Xi Meng thought, maybe resigning was better than the current situation.

”I’ve already written my resignation letter, but I haven’t submitted it yet!”

Yang Qin said.

Yang Qin felt something was off. She had come to Xi Meng for help, so why was she now talking about resigning?

”What? You’ve already written your resignation letter, then where... do you plan to go after resigning?”

Xi Meng asked her, with one hand on the edge of the table and the other holding her belly.

Yang Qin bit her lip again, feeling some pain, realizing Xi Meng wasn’t on her side; Xi Meng wanted her gone.

”Xi Meng, you don’t want me to stay, do you?”

Yang Qin asked her, holding back the pain in her heart.

”It’s not that I don’t want you to stay, but you’ve already... I’ve told you many times, never to fall in love with your boss, especially not with a boss like Mu Yichen. You said he hasn’t mentioned anything about what happened before, right?”

”Right!”

”Do you know why he hasn’t brought it up?”

Xi Meng asked her again, Yang Qin looked at her puzzled.

”I’ve been with him for so many years, so I understand his temperament better than you do, right? From my perspective, he’s waiting for you to bring it up yourself. If you’re reluctant to speak up, very soon, he will!”

Xi Meng said with certainty.

Yang Qin looked at her in disbelief.

”If you don’t believe it, just wait and see. But if it were me, I’d resign voluntarily or ask for a transfer. You know, he’s still giving you face now, but if he brings it up himself later, you won’t have any way out, and your image and status in his mind...”

Will plummet!

Xi Meng didn’t finish, but Yang Qin understood.

”I don’t see any point in continuing this meal. Old Qin and I vouched for you in Rongcheng to President Mu and Qin Mu, saying how trustworthy and reliable you were, but now it’s like this. I don’t even have the face to see Qin Mu. I’m leaving first!”
