His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2126: Chapter 610: Mrs. Mu Lets President Mu Get Soaked in the Rain (Second Update)

”Mom, do you think my handwriting looks good?”

Huanhuan looked at her, seeking praise, seeking a kiss.

”Hmm! Your handwriting has improved a bit compared to before, but it can still be better. Keep it up!”

Qin Mu nodded as she spoke.

”Hmm! I’ll definitely keep it up and aim to surpass you adults soon.”

As Huanhuan expressed her hope, she sat properly and continued her homework.

”Our Huanhuan is so ambitious, just like her dad when he was a child.”

Feng Fanghua couldn’t help but praise her little granddaughter, yet Qin Mu thought, why can’t she be like her? She was also very diligent and ambitious as a child.

”By the way! Has Mu Yichen come back?”

Feng Fanghua asked her softly.

”Uh, Yichen, he, has come back!”

Qin Mu suddenly felt a bit guilty. If her mother-in-law found out she deliberately let ’Yichen’ get wet in the rain, she would probably get a scolding.

If she could avoid mentioning it, she would. Qin Mu kept her mouth shut.

”Well, you stay with Huanhuan and do homework, I’ll go talk to him about something.”

”Okay!”

Qin Mu agreed, but then she remembered Mu Yichen had gone to the room to shower. Unsure when he would come out, she quickly looked up at Feng Fanghua: ”He seems to have gone to shower, got a bit wet in the rain!”

Qin Mu whispered the last part.

”Since he’s gone to shower, why don’t you freshen up too? If you catch a cold, you could both infect each other, right?”

Feng Fanghua remarked and then left Huanhuan’s room.

”Mom, as long as you don’t eat from the same bowl and use the same chopsticks as Dad, you won’t infect each other. Our teacher mentioned it, it’s true.”

Huanhuan looked at Qin Mu earnestly while explaining.

Qin Mu smiled wryly, thinking you only know the surface, but she couldn’t explain further, so she just nodded: ”Hmm! Focus on your homework!”

Qin Mu said this and sat in the place where Feng Fanghua had just been sitting. As Huanhuan continued to concentrate on her homework, Qin Mu couldn’t help but rest her head on her hand and observe Huanhuan.

People used to say Huanhuan looked a lot like Mu Yichen, and she also thought so. But later, she thought Chengcheng resembled Mu Yichen more, but...

Why does looking at Huanhuan now remind her of the young Mu Yichen?

Qin Mu felt puzzled and saddened; they say reminiscing is a sign of aging, and some say perhaps it’s because the relationship isn’t strong enough that causes this.

Thinking of the latter, Qin Mu felt like a spring inside her broke with a snap.

It’s definitely not because their relationship isn’t strong; there’s no problem between the two of them. Given this, why does she feel so choked up inside?

Mu Yichen finished showering and went to Huanhuan’s room, but Huanhuan didn’t notice, while Mrs. Mu did catch sight of him.

”Huanhuan, why did you come back so quickly?”

Qin Mu had a headache and was nearly dozing off at Huanhuan’s desk. Hearing the door, she reluctantly asked again.

Mu Yichen gently closed the door, and Qin Mu realized something was off, her eyes quickly widening.

In the silent princess room, there was no sound, yet there seemed to be a sound, and suddenly Qin Mu looked up, seeing those dark, prepared eyes.

”It’s you? What are you doing in here?”

After asking, Qin Mu turned her head, unwilling to meet his gaze.

Mu Yichen walked over to her side: ”Reflecting on your actions?”

”Reflecting on what actions?”

Qin Mu unhappily stood up immediately, but when she looked up and saw him, her heart was in turmoil and she wanted to leave. However, Mu Yichen grabbed her wrist: ”Why are you avoiding me? I’m not blaming you!”

”You...”

Dare he blame her?

Qin Mu glared at him, really wanting to eat him up bit by bit.

”What about me? I just mistakenly thought it was you coming in, is that unforgivable?”

Mu Yichen didn’t sidestep the issue, knowing if he teased her too long, she’d genuinely get angry. He could have gone to her studio earlier in the afternoon, but he was worried she’d be too angry, so he waited until she got off work, learning from Xiaomei that she was still at the studio, and drove over, only to find she had just left.

How could he have known Mrs. Mu was so angry, letting him get soaked mercilessly?

Sigh!

Mu Yichen sighed silently, but his gaze was warm and gentle: ”Why aren’t you speaking?”

”What should I say? I don’t feel like talking or listening now, so if you’re being kind, let me have some peace.”

Qin Mu glanced at him, then looked away, cold and distant, refusing to communicate well with him.

”Dinner’s soon; are you going to treat me like this in front of the elders?”

Mu Yichen asked her softly.

Qin Mu...

”Didn’t we just say last night not to argue?”

Mu Yichen said it seriously, but Qin Mu found it even more annoying. Preaching to her now had no effect.

”Let go of me first!”

Qin Mu lowered her voice, worried the elders might see them arguing again.

”You can surely act, right? If I hadn’t stopped you a few years ago, you might have already become a popular actress. In front of our parents and grandfather, you should at least be nice to me, right?”

”Of course, I know!”

Qin Mu shook him off, feeling even more displeased at the mention of acting.

As a married couple, needing to act happy or unhappy is such a sad thing.

She lifted her leg and walked out first, Mu Yichen watching her stubborn back and quickly following her.

Perhaps because the night was particularly cold, when Qin Mu entered the dining room, she noticed the layers of steam and couldn’t help but think that winter was really coming, though why was there still so much rain?

”Grandpa, Mom and Dad, we’re here!”

Qin Mu greeted as she walked up to take her seat. Mu Yichen followed her and sat down afterwards. The two kids, having finished their homework and played a bit, knew the elders had entered the dining room, so they quickly washed their hands and ran in. Each family member said two words, making the meal seem harmonious and happy.

”And you two, since you had the umbrella, why did you let Yichen get so wet? It’s only about ten degrees now. Do you not want your husband?”

Qin Mu listened in a fog, then slowly raised her head, trying hard to squeeze out a smile: ”No, I didn’t see him!”

Feng Fanghua was quite angry initially, but after Mu Zihao talked to her, she decided to patiently say a few things to Qin Mu, yet Qin Mu’s words left her speechless.

Mu Yichen looked at her, not seeing him?

”Yes, if she saw me behind her, she would definitely have rushed over to hold the umbrella for me, not just watch me get soaked half to death in the rain.”

Mu Yichen smiled lightly, serving her food as he spoke.

Qin Mu felt the food he placed in her bowl was poisonous, refusing to eat it, avoiding that food and only eating the rice.

”That’s for the best. You two have been together for years, bickering like it’s a daily routine. You should calm down a bit; you’re not in your early twenties anymore, and you’re parents now. Damaging the body is minor, but if feelings get hurt, that’s a bigger issue.”

Feng Fanghua observed their odd behavior, feeling uneasy and advised them.

”Hmm!”

Qin Mu agreed softly, thinking she couldn’t afford to upset her mother-in-law but as for Mu Yichen, hmph hmph!
