His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2110: Chapter 603: Growing Suspicion

Mu Yichen had only been in the office for a few minutes when Yang Qin walked in carrying a stack of files. He happened to look up and saw that her nose was bright red and her eyes were brimming with tears.

”What’s wrong?”

Mu Yichen asked lightly, his brows knitted, clearly not in a good mood.

”Just a bit of a cold, it’s fine!”

Yang Qin froze for a second, then quickly answered him.

”Don’t let it affect your work.”

After hearing that, Mu Yichen only replied with this one sentence.

”It won’t.”

Yang Qin’s voice sounded a little uncomfortable, but when it came to her attitude toward work, she herself still approved of it.

——

Qin Mu hadn’t planned on going to work, but then Qin Mingzhu called to lecture her, so she pulled herself together, tidied up a bit, and headed out the door.

The car drove straight to the bookstore and parked there. Before getting out, she waved at Xiang Hang through the window, telling him to go back to the shop first while she went to find Qin Mingzhu.

But after she walked into the bookstore and turned her head, she saw that Xiang Hang’s car was still parked not far from hers and hadn’t left.

”If you didn’t come today, I was going to your place to drag you out. How can you bear not to come see me for so long?”

Holding the baby in her arms, Qin Mingzhu complained to Qin Mu as she got up, then went over with the child to set him in Qin Mu’s arms.

Qin Mu sat on the sofa and took her little nephew. One look and she couldn’t help but smile. This little guy really was ”one day apart feels like three years,” she’d missed him terribly.

”Can’t I ever have a break? Besides, the studio is so far away, I...”

”Ha! Don’t try to fool me. Chen Xiaomei said you haven’t been to the studio these last two days. And you’re a designer—what difference does it make whether you’re in the office or here?”

Qin Mingzhu cut her off before she could finish, snapping back at her so sharply that Qin Mu was left speechless.

”Sigh! Since you put it like that, all I can say is that as a designer, whether I’m at the studio, in the shop, or at home, it’s all the same for getting work done.”

Qin Mu could only patiently, and in a good temper, explain it to her bit by bit.

For a moment, Qin Mingzhu was at a loss for words and just gave her a contemptuous look.

But Qin Mu only laughed as she held the baby. ”Forget it, I’m not going to argue with you. I’ll take my nephew over to the shop for a look around. You stay here and work.”

”Miss Qin, here’s the coffee I made for you!”

The staff had started making it the moment she saw Qin Mu coming over. Now that it was ready and Qin Mu was about to leave, she felt a little reluctant.

Qin Mu turned her head and saw the coffee in the clerk’s hand. She held the baby in one arm and took the coffee with the other. ”Thanks! I’ll drink it when I get back.”

The clerk smiled, while Qin Mingzhu rolled her eyes at her own employee, thinking, Whose side are you on, exactly?

After Qin Mu left with the baby, Qin Mingzhu rested one hand lightly on the bar counter and stared at the clerk for a long time, staring until the girl started to feel flustered. Only then did she speak: ”Seriously, whose side are you on? Do you have any self-awareness at all? She shows up and you immediately make her coffee. How come you’re never that enthusiastic when I walk in?”

”Boss, you’re not supposed to be drinking coffee right now...”

The clerk answered in a small voice, thinking to herself, Aren’t you breastfeeding?

That one sentence actually rendered Qin Mingzhu speechless. She could only let out a helpless sigh. There weren’t many people reading downstairs at the moment, so after glancing around, she said, ”I’m going over there to inspect their side. You guys get back to work.”

After watching her leave, the clerk couldn’t help but pat her own chest lightly, telling herself not to be scared.

As soon as Qin Mu walked back into the shop with the little one in her arms, Wang Li happily took him from her. ”This little treasure’s skin is really like porcelain, so soft and smooth. And look at those big eyes—hahaha, he’s so pretty!”

”His brother’s eyes are more like Qin Mingzhu’s. This kid’s eyes are like his dad’s. When he grows up, he’s definitely going to charm a whole bunch of girls.”

Looking at his handsome little face, Qin Mu was very sure of that.

Wang Li looked at him and silently agreed.

Wang Huanyu was already an unbelievably handsome man. Now that his status was so high, he was even more out of reach—so handsome it was almost criminal. This little guy had inherited all the advantages of both his parents; he’d definitely be even more handsome than his dad in the future.

But the two of them had only been playing with him for less than two minutes when Qin Mingzhu followed them in. Qin Mu looked at her approaching, a little helpless, and couldn’t help but smile.

”You haven’t been here these two days, and Miss Second has been coming by every day asking about you. Shows how deep you sisters’ bond is.”

Holding their baby, Wang Li said to Qin Mu.

”Sister Li, we’re all so familiar with each other by now. Don’t call me ’Second Miss’ anymore. If you think well of me, just call me Mingzhu.”

Patting her own chest, Qin Mingzhu spoke to Wang Li in a bold, carefree way. Wang Li loved children and was always holding her baby, so the two of them had a great relationship now.
