Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 448: Chapter 388: Advancing by Retreating (Part 2)

”Kneel and beg for the Ancestors to rule the world!”

The internet is flooded with petitions like ”Kneel and beg for the Ancestors to rule the world!” The momentum is simply spectacular!

...

Super Base, Core Control Room.

As everyone walked in, they were completely stunned by the shocking scenes before them!

It felt like being in the control room of a sci-fi movie. Surrounding them were countless virtual screens projecting a series of data and information programs. Other virtual screens displayed the complete inside view of the base without missing a single detail.

This allowed everyone to clearly see what kind of technology was contained in this super base.

Liu Kexin was immediately drawn to a virtual screen on the left as she entered. There, a production line was displayed, surrounded only by a few sporadic simulation robots, with no human operators in sight. Yet, this production line was continuously decomposing sand and gravel into various atomic units, then recombining them into different material substances, finally producing components that assembled into fist-sized scout robots.

Though small, these scout robots, as shown by the design patterns on the screen, possessed not only a considerable degree of high-energy destructive beams but also powerful functions such as flight, aerial photography, radar, and almost all reconnaissance capabilities.

Gu Wei’s gaze was also attracted to one of the virtual screens.

This screen was not displaying the production of any objects.

Instead, it was constantly simulating and modeling a ”Dyson Sphere.”

The current progress was one percent.

One should know that a ”Dyson Sphere” is a symbol of a Type II civilization.

If humanity truly develops a ”Dyson Sphere,” it would access vast and inexhaustible stellar energy!

Fu Qin’s gaze was captured by another virtual screen.

Because this screen displayed a ”Cyberspace.”

In other words, a virtual world, or what could be termed as the metaverse.

Most crucially, this ”Cyberspace” looked very mature!

Currently, Earth’s technology has not yet developed a mature ”Cyberspace.”

For example, companies like Baidu or Tesla have indeed developed the metaverse.

But their metaverse technology is not yet mature.

No, it should be said it’s still in the early stages.

The ”Cyberspace” before him, however, was different.

Fu Qin could clearly see that the ”world” displayed inside was identical to reality, with even more fantasy elements.

For example, a cultivation world, magic world, and so on.

Perhaps noticing Fu Qin watching.

Lu Li casually introduced, ”The ’Cyberspace’ you’re seeing, while not yet perfect, can indeed serve as a social platform and make a substantial contribution to science. For instance, you can simulate real medical dissections inside, then apply them to real life. However, my vision is that in the future, before humans die, they can upload their memories or consciousness into the ’Cyberspace’ to achieve immortality, allowing them to live as they did before, such as entering the cultivation world and becoming a cultivator. I won’t elaborate any further; if you’re interested, you can explore the ’Cyberspace’ yourself later.”

Hearing this, Fu Qin incredulously asked, ”Once the technology matures, can humanity achieve immortality in the ’Cyberspace’?”

Liu Kexin, Gu Wei, and Zhu Sen were also amazed.

According to Lu Li, the maturity of ”Cyberspace” technology means humanity can progress from physical civilization to spiritual civilization!

This is undoubtedly a transcendent milestone in the evolution of civilization!

Lu Li nodded slightly and said, ”Theoretically, that’s true. Humans can indeed achieve immortality in the ’Cyberspace.’ The most important thing is that all resources in the ’Cyberspace’ are virtual, equivalent to infinite. The human consciousness living in it never needs to worry about the day when resources become scarce.”

Everyone took a deep breath, finding it hard to believe that the ”Cyberspace” technology at the super base was so advanced.

Moreover, they sensed a hint of something from Lu Li’s implication.

That is, although the current ”Cyberspace” technology is not yet perfected, it is more than sufficient for scientific research.

This means clinical trials, weapons development, civil technology, etc., can all be conducted in the ”Cyberspace,” and mature technologies can ultimately be extracted for real-world application.

Gu Wei, Fu Qin, and Zhu Sen felt their hearts trembling.

They, of course, understood the immense value of this ”Cyberspace.”

It could be said that if any country held such advanced ”Cyberspace” technology, it wouldn’t be long before aerospace, military, civilian, medical, and biological technologies all reached a level currently unimaginable to humanity!

This is indeed a ”super treasure” that can elevate human technological civilization by leaps and bounds!

Although the group hadn’t fully explored the super base, just this one ”Cyberspace” was enough to leave them in awe.

Just then, Liu Kexin noticed one of the virtual screens displaying an enormously empty space.

Curiously, she pointed and asked, ”Husband, is this a warehouse? Why is there nothing here?”

Everyone looked in the direction she pointed.

The vast room was indeed empty.

In stark contrast to the busy scenes displayed on other virtual screens.

Lu Li casually ”oh’d” and explained, ”It’s considered a warehouse, but not for storing other things. Didn’t I mention earlier that a gamma ray burst is on the way? I’ve developed a ’Savior’ mecha that holds hope for resolving the gamma ray bursts. However, these mechas are quite large, up to fifty meters tall, and weigh several thousand tons each, so I needed a place to store them. This is the warehouse for storing the ’Savior’ mechas. According to my estimates, it can hold at least 100,000 mechas.”

...

Across the ocean, it’s now eight or nine in the evening.

George looked at the computer screen filled with countless comments, his face livid.

”Kneel and beg for the Ancestors to rule Earth!”

”Great Ancestors, I am your most loyal follower, I pray for your divine light to shine upon every corner of Earth.”

”I know you are the only True God in this world. Only you can save the countless lost and distressed souls on Earth.”

”Great Ancestors, I beg you to become the unparalleled divine emperor leading humanity to prosperity.”

”I don’t want to die, Great Ancestors, as long as you can solve the gamma ray bursts, I’ll do anything you ask.”

”I’m willing to donate all my wealth to assist the Ancestors in ascending to emperor!”

Thirty!

One hundred and fifty!

Thousands upon thousands of similar comments filled the computer screen.

George gritted his teeth as he looked at the cries of these ”ignorant people,” truly leaving him both shocked and angry.

Just two or three hours ago, he saw the Ancestors claim that they ”have no intention of ruling the world,” and he breathed a sigh of relief.

Who would have thought, two or three hours later, things would turn out like this.

Citizens from countries all over the world are actually begging the Ancestors to rule the world?

This left George inexplicably resentful, cursing, ”This group of fools, can’t they see that the Ancestors are using Huaxia’s strategy of advancing by retreating?”

Originally, George couldn’t be sure if the Ancestors’ announcement of ”gamma ray bursts visiting the solar system” was a prelude to ruling Earth.

Now seeing the remarkable effect of ”advancing by retreating,” he immediately understood the Ancestors’ tactics. It was clearly a fake denial of wanting to rule the world, then letting the global populace confirm the impending gamma ray bursts, and finally having everyone beg them to be the ”Saint Monarch.”

That’s incredibly insidious!

”Excellent tactic! Excellent tactic!”

George took a deep breath, ”It never occurred to me that this Ancestor, besides possessing extraordinary prowess, is also so adept in worldly affairs.”

He frowned, ”No, I can’t let the Ancestors’ plan succeed, or else living under their rule, the global societies will inevitably revert to an ancient feudal system. I must fight against the Ancestors for the sake of the eight billion people worldwide!”

George knew he couldn’t stand against the Ancestors alone.

As he picked up the desk phone, he murmured to himself, ”I need a strong ally.”

The next moment, the call connected.

George laughed heartily, ”Great Emperor, it’s been a long time since we last contacted...”
