Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 443: Chapter 385: Ruling Earth, Saint Monarch’s Dictatorship?

The internet doesn’t represent the whole world, but it’s a microcosm of it.

Initially, many people were terrified when they learned that a gamma-ray burst was about to hit the solar system.

However, when someone mentioned that there is an ancestor figure on Earth with god-like powers, emotions calmed down.

Unfortunately, this stabilized situation didn’t last long before being debunked by another world-famous blogger.

This blogger is a travel influencer known as Old Ugly, with tens of millions of followers worldwide.

She posted: ”The ancestor figure is indeed immensely powerful and might be able to prevent the gamma-ray burst. I firmly believe that. However, based on the power he’s shown before, it’s about ’surface-wiping’ level. So, even if he can stop the gamma-ray burst, he likely wouldn’t be in good shape afterward and might get severely injured. Have you ever thought about why he would help us Earthlings with the gamma-ray burst? We’re not his family or friends and have no relationship with him. If you were him, would you risk severe injury to intervene and stop the gamma-ray burst?”

This analysis caused a commotion!

Global netizens thought about it and found the blogger’s words reasonable!

”Yeah, right!”

”Why would he intervene to stop the gamma-ray burst?”

”A gamma-ray burst releases energy equivalent to 0.15 of the sun every second. No matter how powerful the ancestor figure is, if he withstands such high-energy cosmic rays, he’s bound to get hurt. If it were me, I probably wouldn’t intervene to save the world. But if it were his family or friends, he would definitely save them, and the risk of injury is much lower because he’s protecting fewer people.”

”We’re unrelated to him, so he seems to have no reason to save us, right?”

”If the ancestor figure doesn’t intervene, is there any country on Earth, or all countries together, capable of dealing with a gamma-ray burst?”

”Definitely not. Isn’t it obvious? Didn’t someone just say that a gamma-ray burst releases energy every second equivalent to 0.15 of the sun? Do you think the combined energy of all matter on Earth measures up to that? Moreover, gamma-ray bursts are photon energy, and nuclear weapons or the like can’t affect them. So currently, in the entire solar system, the only one capable of dealing with a gamma-ray burst is the ancestor figure!”

”According to your analysis, the ancestor figure will definitely not intervene?”

”Can’t say for sure, but there’s a 99% chance he won’t.”

”Does this mean humanity is truly doomed to extinction?”

”Please, ancestor figure, don’t abandon us.”

”Great ancestor, please save us!”

Netizens became increasingly panicked, as if the whole world was in chaos!

Since everyone knows gamma-ray bursts aren’t something Earth’s technology can withstand, a portion of the ”death-fearing” crowd hurriedly flocked to the ancestor figure’s newly registered social account, frantically asking for help.

After all, as long as you’re a normal person, no one would refuse to live a bit longer. Of course, no one wants to be wiped out by the arrival of a gamma-ray burst.

Unfortunately, the ancestor figure didn’t respond to everyone as he did before.

For a moment, everyone’s hearts sank, concluding that he wouldn’t step forward as a savior.

No one was truly surprised because the ancestor figure wasn’t obligated to be a savior, yet they were still deeply despaired, as if the gamma-ray burst’s arrival already signified the end of the world.

...

Lu Li felt speechless about the outside reaction.

Previously, when he said he wanted to rule the world, people across the globe were utterly terrified.

Who would have thought that clearing up this rumor would make people even more anxious worldwide?

Lu Li found it laughable and frustrating, so he couldn’t be bothered to respond again.

Or rather, he had more important things to do at the moment.

He didn’t have time to deal with netizens prone to wild speculations.

In the sky, Lu Li was holding Liu Kexin as they ”slowly” flew toward the Taklamakan Desert.

Of course, this ”slowly” was relative to him.

In reality, he wasn’t flying slowly, reaching a speed of about 100 kilometers per second.

Additionally, he could have used energy to carry Liu Kexin while flying.

He chose not to because they were in their honeymoon phase and wanted to be as close as possible.

”Wow,” Liu Kexin exclaimed as she watched the scenery pass by like a carousel. ”Is this what it feels like to fly physically in the air? It feels amazing.”

Lu Li boasted, ”Now you know your husband is impressive, right?”

”Mm! Mm!” Liu Kexin nodded vigorously, giving Lu Li a sense of achievement, ”Oh, Lu...”

Lu Li corrected her, ”Call me husband!”

Liu Kexin changed her tone, ”Okay, I’ll call you husband then. Husband, I remember it only took you just over an hour to fly back from Mercury. What’s your top flying speed?”

Lu Li replied, ”Just under 18,000 kilometers. If I fly at full speed, I can reach the destination in less than a second.”

Liu Kexin asked curiously, ”By the way, where are we going now?”

Lu Li pointed ahead, ”The Taklamakan Desert.”

Liu Kexin asked, puzzled, ”Did you ask me to take a leave to accompany you on a trip to the Taklamakan Desert?”

”What’s there to tour in a desert?” Lu Li responded with a wry smile and explained, ”You know the gamma-ray burst is coming, right? So we’re going to the Taklamakan Desert to deal with that...”
