Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 419: Chapter 364: Inspiring

Upon hearing Lu Li’s words, the group of physicists was taken aback.

To the average person, creating anti-hydrogen atoms or artificially synthesized particle elements is nothing more than just activating a large particle collider.

In reality, top physicists like Shen Xia and Qian Jin are well aware of the immense difficulty in creating anti-hydrogen atoms and artificially synthesized particle elements.

There are two main factors to consider.

First, the machine needs to be adjusted to the appropriate ”parameters.”

This ”fine-tuning” is not achieved overnight and requires numerous attempts before determining the correct value.

Secondly, even if you have mastered the ”timing” of the machine, simply turning on the particle collider won’t yield anti-hydrogen atoms or other particles. Instead, during each particle collision, you need to ”pick up” antiprotons from the thousands of fragments generated and then use a decelerator to slow their speed to facilitate the final synthesis into anti-hydrogen atoms or other particles.

According to probability theory, the success rate of synthesizing an ’anti-hydrogen atom’ is roughly ten to the power of negative nineteen.

It is conceivable how challenging it is to synthesize anti-hydrogen atoms and other particles.

Synthesis is one aspect.

Moreover, preserving anti-hydrogen atoms or ”volcanic ash rock” particles is even more challenging.

Take anti-hydrogen atoms, for example.

Since everything in nature is composed of positive matter,

These particles are extremely prone to ”neutralization reactions” with positive matter, leading to annihilation, so special experimental equipment is necessary for preservation.

Though ”volcanic ash rock” subatomic particles won’t annihilate when contacting positive matter, they themselves are unstable particles, easily leading to annihilation even with a slight disturbance, making their preservation extremely difficult.

The ”Ex-Wife” and ”Doomsday” missiles on Lu Li’s mecha are equipped with special devices.

Otherwise, the ”volcanic ash rock” subatomic particles might annihilate before a missile is even launched, releasing terrifying energy that would utterly destroy the entire mecha.

The technological content of these special devices far exceeds the era by several decades.

Therefore, it’s quite normal for Shen Xia, Qian Jin, and a group of top physicists to fail in synthesizing ”volcanic ash rock” subatomic particles with the technology provided by Lu Li, since they lack various ”parameters” and storage technology, despite occasionally succeeding in synthesis.

Normally, this process might take over a decade or even longer.

Lu Li understands these principles.

However, Shen Xia, Qian Jin, and these top physicists do not.

It’s as if what are world problems in their eyes seem like ”child’s play” to Lu Li.

Naturally, hearing Lu Li’s opinions made them so astounded.

Qian Jin, having met Lu Li before, was somewhat familiar and a bit bolder.

Eager to know, he asked, ”Mr. Lu, why can’t we synthesize the ’volcanic ash rock’ subatomic particles with the technology you provided, while you can solve this problem immediately?”

Shen Xia and the seven or eight physicists perked up their ears, eager to hear Lu Li’s ”guidance.”

Lu Li, sitting there, casually explained, ”The reason is very simple; you haven’t thoroughly understood the technology. Let me explain briefly.”

”Mm hmm.”

”Please go ahead.”

Everyone watched him intently.

Lu Li said, ”In your minds, ’volcanic ash rock’ subatomic particles, like ’anti-hydrogen atoms’, will lead to annihilation. So, when operating, the machine parameters you use essentially align with synthesizing ’anti-hydrogen atoms’. In fact, the difficulty in creating ’anti-hydrogen atoms’ is much greater than synthesizing ’volcanic ash rock’ subatomic particles, as it requires more energy to collide particles and then ’pick fragments’ from them. Is that clear?”

Qian Jin, being an academician, immediately showed a look of sudden realization, ”You mean we should reduce the machine’s collision force, not smashing the particles into ’fragments’ but embedding as per your technical instructions?”

Lu Li nodded slightly, ”That’s right. That’s exactly what I mean. If you correctly determine the machine’s parameters, the success rate of synthesizing ’volcanic ash rock’ subatomic particles is roughly ten to the power of negative ten, far less than the success rate for synthesizing ’anti-hydrogen atoms’, which is ten to the power of negative nineteen. For instance, although your parameters were incorrect last time, you still succeeded once, which indicates that this subatomic particle likely exists in nature, though it’s extremely easy to annihilate, making it hard to observe, and preventing you from capturing it before.”

The elderly physicist who previously fainted weakly asked, ”Then how should we capture it?”

Shen Xia, Qian Jin, and the rest listened intently.

Lu Li explained, ”The capture method is similar to that of anti-hydrogen atoms. You need to use magnetic trap technology. While it’s true that the anti-hydrogen atom is the antimatter state of positive matter, in actuality, its mass is similar to a positive hydrogen atom, also an atomic level. ’Volcanic ash rock’ particles, on the other hand, are subatomic and smaller than atoms. Its mass is relatively low, so when capturing it, the ’force’ of the magnetic trap needs to be smaller than when capturing ’anti-hydrogen atoms’. Additionally, ’anti-hydrogen atoms’ only annihilate when in contact with positive matter, but ’volcanic ash rock’ annihilates with any significant motion; hence, not only should the magnetic trap’s ’force’ be weaker, but the capture speed should also be much slower to prevent annihilation during movement.”

He paused for a moment, then continued, ”Actually, these are fundamental principles of physics. Anyone with a slightly better understanding of physics knows that subatomic mass is smaller than atomic, thus the ’force’ of the magnetic trap should be reduced. The reason you didn’t think of it is because of being ’too knowledgeable’ in physics, leading to habitual thinking and inability to adapt, causing failure.”

Hearing this, Shen Xia, Qian Jin, and the group of physicists felt ashamed.

It turned out to be such an obvious principle.

Yet they got stuck in a loop of habitual thinking and overlooked it.

And as soon as Lu Li arrived here, he casually explained the problem, making them suddenly realize.

This made Shen Xia, Qian Jin, and the seven or eight physicists marvel, although the principle is simple, without someone ”pointing it out,” they might have wasted unknown amounts of time to figure it out.

For a moment, everyone felt deep gratitude towards Lu Li and were no longer as intimidated as before.

Especially those physicists meeting Lu Li for the first time; after a brief interaction, they found Lu Li not as terrifying as the rumored ”ancestor of humans.” On the contrary, he was patient and explained things in detail, clearly a person with a good temper.

This left some physicists puzzled, not understanding how the Jalisco Group and the Morgan Clan managed to offend someone with such a ”good character” as Lu Li, leading to such punishment.

Of course, up to now, Lu Li’s explanations are all ”theoretical.”

In reality, whether they can synthesize and capture ”volcanic ash rock” subatomic particles is still unknown to them, only finding the explanation reasonable.

At this moment, Lu Li pointed to the instrument, ”Look, over there in the magnetic field trap, we’ve already captured a dozen or so ’volcano ash rock’ subatomic particles.”

”Huh?”

”This fast?”

”Mr. Lu, can we take a look at the situation?”

Shen Xia, Qian Jin, and several physicists all gathered to look.

Lu Li stood up and made some space so that everyone could see clearly.

A moment later, everyone exclaimed in astonishment.

”Wow!”

”We’ve really captured them!”

”We’ve been working so long without any results.”

”It took Mr. Lu to step in, and now the problem’s solved, isn’t it?”

Shen Xia, Qian Jin, and the seven or eight physicists were all talking at once, occasionally sneaking a glance at Lu Li.

At this moment, they finally realized just how large the ”technology gap” between themselves and Lu Li was.

As these physicists observed the situation, the other staff members also saw the capture results on their individual screens and started whispering among themselves.

”Wow, Mr. Lu is amazing.”

”Isn’t it? He just steps in and solves the problem.”

”We’ve had hundreds of people working hard for so long, yet we can’t compare to Mr. Lu fiddling with the machines for a bit. The technology gap is just too large.”

”From what I see when Mr. Lu talks with Professor Shen and Academician Qian Jin, he’s quite amiable. So why is he feared so much outside?”

”Exactly, I don’t get it. Anyway, from what I’ve observed, I don’t find Mr. Lu scary in the least.”

Even though several hundred people were chatting.

In fact, their voices were very low.

So low that Shen Xia, Qian Jin, and the few physicists couldn’t hear them.

Of course, these discussions certainly couldn’t escape Lu Li’s heightened senses.

He shook his head helplessly.

He was never a bloodthirsty person.

It was only because his actions against the Morgan Clan were so high-profile that the outside world deemed him a ”Murderous Demon King.”

All because the outside world doesn’t understand him as a person.

As he was thinking this, Academician Qian Jin frowned and said, ”Mr. Lu, judging from the ’volcano ash rock’ subatomic particle capture situation, while it’s simpler than synthesizing and capturing ’antihydrogen atoms,’ it still isn’t suitable for mass synthesis, let alone for applications in civil, military, aerospace, and other industries. It seems we need to go through a lengthy research process to take that big leap.”

”Eh.” The elderly physicist, who had previously fainted, smiled and said, ”Although mass synthesis of ’volcano ash rock’ subatomic particles still has a long way to go, Mr. Lu has already solved the problem of going from zero to one. With these parameters and data, our entire team can completely announce this to the outside world, and even let Professor Shen and Mr. Lu both win the Nobel Chemistry Prize. Usually, synthetic particles are given the Chemistry Prize, not the Nobel Physics Prize.”

”Indeed, it’s so thrilling.”

”Mr. Lu and Professor Shen will surely win the prize for the ’volcano ash rock’ subatomic particles!”

”This is certainly an exhilarating and monumental event for our scientific research!”

A group of physicists chatted joyfully.

As if the Nobel Chemistry Prize was already a certainty.

Actually, they dare to say these things because they are quite confident that Lu Li and Shen Xia will win the award.

However, at this moment, Lu Li shook his head and said, ”Whether or not we win the prize is secondary. If we can contribute to the country, what does it matter if we don’t win? Besides, your current technology is too backward to apply ’volcano ash rock’ subatomic particles to civil, military, and aerospace fields. After much thought, I’ve decided to build a base for you that can mass-produce ’volcano ash rock’ subatomic particles, and also create a ’super particle collider’ that surpasses current technological standards!”

Ah?

What?

You want to help us build a base to mass synthesize ’volcano ash rock’ subatomic particles?

And create a ’super particle collider’ that transcends current technology?

Shen Xia was momentarily stunned.

Qian Jin was both surprised and delighted.

The remaining seven or eight physicists and a few nearby staff members were all somewhat astonished.

They, of course, knew how difficult it was to construct a ”particle synthesis” base and how much funding it would require.

Not to mention that the costs and technology for a ”super particle collider” were almost unimaginable.

If someone else had said these words, they would probably be quite speechless, thinking, ”Who are you to promise such a thing?”

However, the person who said this is the renowned and globally formidable ”Ancestor” Lu Li.

Shen Xia, Qian Jin, several physicists, and some staff members all became curious immediately, wanting to know how Lu Li would help build the ion synthesis base and the super particle collider, thinking the scenes would be quite spectacular, wouldn’t they?
