Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 431: Chapter 373: Transformers Megatron

Shanglin Garden.

Lu Li, afraid of disturbing the sleeping Liu Kexin, came here to ponder solutions for gamma-ray bursts.

He looked at the rows of ”No Beef” Mecha No.1 and shook his head, ”These mecha technologies are too outdated and can be phased out.”

He had promised Gu Wei earlier that he would provide mecha technology later.

Since the ”No Beef” No.1 is ”technologically outdated” and phased out, it can be considered a kindly gesture.

Lu Li mobilized the surrounding particles while dialing Gu Wei’s number.

Particles were gathering.

Gradually forming the appearance of a super artificial intelligence.

Beep.

Beep beep.

The call is being connected.

A moment later, as the supercomputer of the artificial intelligence condensed, the call was also connected.

Gu Wei’s voice came from the other end, ”Good evening, Mr. Lu.”

Lu Li sat on the sofa, glanced at the high-tech, white superbrain like a small round table, and said over the phone, ”You’re in Su City now, right?”

Well, he knew the other party was there, but asked out of courtesy.

Gu Wei said, ”Yes, just finished bathing, was about to go to sleep.”

Lu Li said softly, ”If you’re not too sleepy, come to Shanglin Garden now. If you’re sleepy, call tomorrow and I’ll tell you where to meet.”

”Not sleepy!” Gu Wei said cheerfully, ”How could I feel sleepy when you’re summoning me?”

Lu Li replied, ”Alright, then come over, I’m waiting for you.”

Gu Wei hesitantly asked, ”Can I ask what it’s about first?”

Lu Li smiled, ”You’ll know when you get here, it’s good news.”

Gu Wei, upon hearing this, immediately exclaimed happily, ”Great, I’ll come right away.”

The call ended.

Lu Li looked at the superbrain in front of him and inserted a plug into a nearby socket out of thin air.

The next moment, a faint white light emerged from above the superbrain, resembling a small round table, gradually condensing into the image of a beautiful woman with a human body and snake tail.

Lu Li sat there, remotely adjusting the program using energy.

Then, the ”beauty” uttered an electronically synthesized voice, ”Honorable master, I am your artificial intelligence assistant ’Nuwa’. What can I do for you?”

This name was chosen by Lu Li when setting up the program just now.

He hoped this artificial intelligence, reaching the pinnacle of the fourth stage, could help him solve the gamma-ray burst issue, much like how Nuwa patched the sky.

Lu Li commanded, ”Collect all global information related to gamma-ray bursts, and simulate how to effectively prevent their destructive power.”

Nuwa responded, ”As you wish.”

With that, her figure dissipated, transforming into streams of program data, continuously flickering within the white light ring.

Lu Li ignored Nuwa’s actions and instead used his super powerful computing ability to simulate a new generation of mechas and super spaceships capable of enduring in the cosmos.

The former is to fend off gamma-ray bursts.

The latter is a backup plan; if no method to fend off gamma-ray bursts is found, then he would have no choice but to send those who matter to him into the spaceship, away from the soon-to-be-destroyed Earth.

”I previously researched gamma-ray bursts and learned they are high-energy rays, essentially a form of electromagnetic waves, and the highest energy form of electromagnetic waves,”

Lu Li recalled information on gamma-ray bursts, ”When a massive star exhausts its hydrogen, nuclear fusion transitions to helium fusion, steadily moving towards heavier elements. When it reaches iron, the star rapidly collapses and then rebounds, releasing immense energy. This process is known as a supernova explosion. After a supernova explosion, the star collapses into a neutron star or black hole depending on its mass. Gamma-ray bursts are born during the supernova explosion process.”

He remembered that current human technology divides gamma-ray burst durations into two types: short bursts and long bursts.

The boundary is at two seconds.

Bursts less than two seconds are short.

Burst exceeding two seconds are long.

They can last up to several hours.

This is one theory.

Another scientific theory is that gamma-ray bursts contain immense energy, with a lethal range for life reaching up to 50 light-years.

This might seem contradictory.

Because gamma-ray bursts travel at the speed of light.

Even if they last several hours, the range they can cover should be equivalent to the distance light travels in those hours, not 50 light-years.

However, this is not actually contradictory.

According to data collected by Lu Li, in March 2008, scientists observed a gamma-ray burst lasting over a minute.

Scientists calculated that this gamma-ray burst occurred in cosmic depths 70 light-years from Earth.

It traveled through the cosmos for seven billion years.

Thus, by the time it reached Earth, it was very weak.

From this information, one can infer that from a few microseconds to several hours, gamma-ray bursts are at their most powerful, even continuing to strengthen during this phase.

After that, as it travels further, its energy severely diminishes.

Until crossing 70 light-years, its power is completely exhausted.

”If my ’Sun God’ No. 2 cannot detect the gamma-ray burst source, it can only mean one thing: the gamma-ray burst occurred within a star realm less than 50 light-years from Earth, beyond my effective observation range.”

Lu Li analyzed carefully, ”But when it gets close enough to the solar system, I should be able to observe it.”

Observing it wouldn’t be of much use.

Even after traveling tens of light-years, the gamma-ray burst remains extremely powerful.

At least, in the simulation results previously run by Lu Li, the gamma-ray burst hit Mercury and Earth, causing near-total extinction of life on Earth.

”No matter how violent a gamma-ray burst is, it’s still gamma rays, which means photon energy.”

Lu Li recalled the information he had searched, ”Lead can partly resist gamma rays, but not entirely, because gamma rays have strong penetration. Can I work on this aspect?”

For instance, outfitting Earth with a gigantic lead ”protective shield”?

This idea was quickly dismissed by him.

Because if Earth were covered with a lead ”protective shield,” the gamma-ray burst wouldn’t even need to arrive—the surface life would already be extinct.

Without sunlight, how could surface life survive?

Moreover, although Lu Li had the power to explode stars, destruction is easier than creation. Creating a lead ”protective shield” that fully envelops Earth would be almost impossible.

”Actually, this method isn’t infeasible.”

Lu Li looked toward the horizon outside the window, ”Unless I can observe from where the gamma-ray burst is coming and then create a massive and incredibly thick lead plate in cosmic space along its path in advance, maybe it could be blocked.”

This method is theoretically feasible, but there’s still the issue of energy consumption.

The energy within his body is simply not enough to condense such a massive and thick lead plate.

”Then...”

Lu Li’s eyes flickered, ”There’s only one method left to block it.”

He took a deep breath and announced the answer, ”Energy counteraction!”

Generally, light energy can’t be counteracted, because light and light pass through each other.

However, theoretically, as long as the waveforms can match perfectly, they can cancel each other out.

This method is nearly impossible for ordinary people.

Lu Li was, of course, no ordinary person.

With his powerful computation abilities, as long as he could observe the path of gamma-ray radiation, it was possible to calculate matching waveforms.

”The energy I currently possess is certainly insufficient to directly withstand a gamma-ray burst, making energy counteraction still improbable.”

Lu Li pondered, ”But I still have thirty-three days, during which time I can build more mecha to assist me, collectively releasing energy toward the gamma-ray burst, thus achieving energy counteraction.”

This method has a high likelihood of failure, but it’s the most reliable method he can think of at present.

It’s also a method that allows for the longest preparation time.

Take manufacturing lead plates in cosmic space, for instance.

Once he observes the path of the gamma-ray burst radiation,

there would likely only be a few days left.

Not nearly enough time to condense such a massive lead plate.

Condensing mecha for energy counteraction is different.

He has a full thirty-three days.

By then, as long as he can observe the path of the gamma-ray burst radiation and calculate the waveform, the problem might be solvable.

”Alright, the direction for simulating new mecha will be towards releasing high-energy rays.”

Lu Li kept calculating.

About a minute later,

He had simulated a mecha structure that could release high-energy rays for energy counteraction.

Another minute passed,

The structure of the super spaceship was also simulated.

”Let’s set the super spaceship aside for now and simulate a new generation of mecha to see how it performs.”

Thinking of this, Lu Li gathered the free elemental particles in the air, forming them into a particle torrent.

These particle torrents surged like Yellow River waters down from above, diving down toward the yard of the villa where he was located.

Gradually, the particle torrents condensed into the shape of a giant mecha about fifty meters high, although it hadn’t fully formed yet.

Of course, this unformed state only lasted for a brief moment.

Subsequently, the light gradually dimmed.

A gigantic, brilliantly silver super mecha formed successfully, suddenly appearing before Lu Li.

This mecha’s shape somewhat resembled Megatron from ”Transformers,” appearing very majestic and imposing.

Indeed, Lu Li had designed the appearance based on Megatron, although the internal functions were different.

Just as he was about to test its functions,

suddenly, Lu Li sensed that Gu Wei’s car had arrived in the neighborhood.

He activated energy to open the gate.

A moment later, Gu Wei drove the Audi slowly into the yard.

Then, Lu Li saw Gu Wei’s face twisted with shock as he sat in the driver’s seat.

It was obvious that he must have been extremely shocked to see ”Megatron.”
