Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 442: Chapter 384: The Stabilizing Pillar

Six or seven in the morning.

This should be the time when many people are getting up to wash and hurry to work, logically speaking, they don’t have time to deal with other things.

Now, although many people are indeed just getting up and washing, or busy eating breakfast and the like, many are busy with other things while going online to check out the latest updates.

The main reason is that the rumor outside is really too shocking!

No one dares to imagine, if the entire Earth is under the rule of Mr. Ancestor, the ”Great Demon King”, what a terrifying scene it would be.

Therefore, those ”overly worried” citizens from various countries naturally keep an eye on the internet to get the latest relevant information, such as whether Mr. Ancestor has really started his conquest of the world.

Many people did not just start worrying about this now, but have been worried ever since the news broke yesterday, to the point that some can’t eat or sleep well, as if the sky was falling.

Just when the people of various countries around the world were worried to the point of being unable to restrain themselves.

Suddenly, on major social media platforms around the world, an account registered to Mr. Ancestor appeared, and it was verified.

Netizens who are extremely sensitive to Mr. Ancestor naturally noticed this situation immediately and started shouting online.

”Whoa!”

”That great person has registered a social account!”

”What? That great person also plays online? What is his account name?”

”It’s Mr. Ancestor!”

”I know it’s Mr. Ancestor who registered the online account, I mean, what is his account name?”

”Mr. Ancestor! Mr. Ancestor!”

”I damn well know Mr. Ancestor registered the account, damn it, what’s his account name?”

Okay, some netizens were so nervous that they triggered a second ”Wei Yimin” incident.

Finally, after careful explanations from well-intentioned people, those rather ”confused” netizens learned that Mr. Ancestor’s registered account nickname is simply ”Mr. Ancestor”.

Thus, in a flash, countless netizens from all over the world logged into social media sites in their respective countries, then searched for ”Mr. Ancestor” to see what that registered account was planning to announce.

Whether Weibo, Twitter, or others, at this moment, traffic just surged to the max.

”Here it comes!”

”I’m here!”

”What does Mr. Ancestor say?”

”Wow, so exciting, I’m the tenth fan of Mr. Ancestor!”

A bunch of people were ”checking in”, showing that they were there.

Soon after, as the ”check-ins” ended, many netizens all looked towards the one and only tweet (Weibo) on Mr. Ancestor’s account, wanting to know what it expressed.

On top, in Chinese, English, Russian, French, Spanish, and the United Nations’ official languages, a tweet was written, roughly as follows:

Hello friends worldwide, I am Mr. Ancestor. Recently there have been rumors outside saying I want to rule the world, causing unnecessary panic globally. I hereby declare that I am not interested in ruling the world, so please rest assured and live your lives without paying attention to those rumors. Additionally, I reserve the right to pursue those who spread them. Should anyone fabricate malicious slander again, I won’t mind letting their entire family accompany the Jalisco Group and the Morgan Clan.

Hmm, these words were announced to the outside world by the artificial intelligence assistant ”Nuwa” on behalf of Lu Li.

Many netizens saw these words and couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.

”I knew it.”

”How could Mr. Ancestor just randomly want to rule the world, turns out it was a rumor.”

”Seeing Mr. Ancestor personally debunk the rumor, I’m finally relieved, although I was scared to death yesterday.”

”Exactly, Mr. Ancestor has no interest in ruling Earth, it’s hard to know which idiot spread rumors that he wants to rule Earth.”

”Mr. Ancestor, I am your most loyal fan, could you follow me back?”

”Great Mr. Ancestor, why don’t you rule the world? I’m willing to serve you diligently, just for you to become the king of the world!”

”Only under the dictatorship of the Saint Monarch can Earth civilization thrive, I support Mr. Ancestor to become Earth’s Saint Monarch!”

”Are you people crazy? Mr. Ancestor already said he’s not interested in ruling Earth, and you’re still asking him to rule the world?”

”Damn, buddies, these people must be anti-human, scold them!”

Then, um, a series of online flame wars ensued.

Although flame wars continued online, the real-life situation became peaceful and stable because of that announcement.

Rioting events immediately decreased.

Everyone no longer scrambled for supplies.

It seemed like Mr. Ancestor’s words were like a sedative, calming the whole world.

...

Diamond Home, bedroom.

Liu Kexin was engrossed in her phone, ”Lu Li, your influence is huge. The account hasn’t been registered for an hour, and you already have ten to twenty million followers. At this rate, by today, you might hit a hundred million.”

Lu Li leaned against the head of the bed on the other side, reached out his right hand to hug his girlfriend, and said, ”I didn’t want to register a social media account initially, but since the outside world is too panic-stricken, I had no choice but to post something to calm everyone down.”

Liu Kexin, still looking down, continued to scroll through the comments on Weibo and casually asked, ”Do you really not want to rule the world?”

Lu Li couldn’t help but laugh, ”Why would I want to rule the world? Am I short of food, clothes, or a girlfriend? Look, to put it bluntly, if I lacked these things, I would just hint a little, and people would come offering them. Is it necessary to go through the hassle of ruling the world?”

”That makes sense...”

Liu Kexin stopped mid-sentence as if she realized something suddenly.

She turned her head to look at her boyfriend, wide-eyed, ”Lu Li, if you don’t want to rule the world, then is the gamma-ray burst thing real?”

Speaking of this, Lu Li looked serious and said, ”Yes, I have the ability to ’foresee the future’, and in my foresight, gamma-ray bursts do indeed visit the solar system, irradiating Earth for eight seconds, which destroys the atmosphere, causing the extinction of most surface creatures.”

Liu Kexin was so frightened that she shivered, ”Ah? Wouldn’t that mean humankind on Earth is doomed?”

Lu Li pulled her close and lightly kissed her on the lips, comforting her, ”Don’t worry, with me, your husband, as the Guardian God, Earth’s civilization won’t be destroyed.”

Liu Kexin put down her phone, wrapped her arms around Lu Li’s neck, and returned his kiss, ”I believe you have the ability to solve it, but...”

Lu Li blinked, ”But what?”

Liu Kexin thoughtfully analyzed, ”Do you think your ruling Earth and the gamma-ray burst visiting Earth, which one causes more global panic?”

Upon hearing this, Lu Li was taken aback.

If he ruled Earth, at least humans would survive.

If the gamma-ray burst visited Earth, surface creatures would indeed be doomed.

Although he indeed thought of how to resolve the gamma-ray burst, global citizens don’t know that.

In other words, if someone figured it out, it might lead to even greater panic.

Lu Li previously was only concerned about not letting global panic affect himself, his family, and friends, not realizing this aspect.

Now that Liu Kexin mentioned it, Lu Li immediately realized he made a mistake.

He immediately sensed the external situation to understand global reactions at the moment.

Sure enough, after a brief moment of jubilation, the realization of something more terrifying set in, throwing the world into even greater panic!

...

People were barely calm for less than an hour.

Suddenly, someone posted a terribly frightening speculation online, ”Since Mr. Ancestor expressed no interest in ruling the world, wouldn’t it mean that the gamma-ray burst visiting the solar system and destroying Earth’s atmosphere, causing surface life extinction, is actually going to happen?”

”Wait! Previously, Professor George Smute said that Mr. Ancestor suggesting a gamma-ray burst visiting the solar system was a rumor, analyzing that he said this terrifying rumor to actually conquer the world. Now Mr. Ancestor stated directly he doesn’t care to rule Earth, doesn’t this prove that a gamma-ray burst might indeed visit Earth?”

”It seems possible!”

”Will the gamma-ray burst really visit Earth?”

”It’s over! A gamma-ray burst releases energy equivalent to 0.15 of the total energy of the Sun every second, while it won’t cause direct lethal damage to organisms, it will destroy the atmosphere and damage the DNA of organisms, leading surface creatures to extinction in a short time!”

”This is much more terrifying than Mr. Ancestor ruling Earth!”

”It’s over! The end of the world is coming!”

”Boohoo, I was just relieved that Mr. Ancestor wasn’t going to rule Earth, but who knew the situation would be worse, is humanity doomed?”

This time, netizens were completely panicked out of sorts, with some even turning pale at the thought that a gamma-ray burst was about to visit Earth!

Everyone knows how terrifying gamma-ray bursts are.

Even if such highly energetic cosmic rays irradiated Earth for just one second, it would be enough to wipe out the majority of surface species!

At that moment, many people were panicked and at a loss.

Although they weren’t sure when a gamma-ray burst would hit, many still wanted to grab supplies and find somewhere to hide.

Panic!

True panic spread globally in an instant!

Almost everyone, upon reading Mr. Ancestor’s ”clarification” notice, instinctively thought of something even more terrifying, scared to their breaking point!

Just as the situation was spiraling out of control with many preparing to take chances by seizing supplies or causing riots.

Suddenly, another globally known blogger spoke up, ”Everyone, don’t be afraid. We have Mr. Ancestor, a divine being akin to a god on Earth. As long as he’s willing to intervene, gamma-ray bursts aren’t anything to fear.”

That’s right!

Since Mr. Ancestor can foresee gamma-ray bursts visiting Earth, he surely has a solution.

The name Mr. Ancestor became like a stabilizing force, dispersing much of the panic instantly!

For a moment, citizens of all the world’s countries, who were in extreme panic, instantly calmed down again.

Everyone felt that no matter how formidable the gamma-ray burst seemed, Mr. Ancestor, this divine-like figure, could solve it effortlessly!
