Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 403: Chapter 352: A New Discovery in Evolution

In cosmic space.

Lu Li is racing at the incredible speed of 17.2 kilometers per second.

After an entire day of speeding, he is now nearly 1.5 million kilometers away from Earth.

At this moment, Lu Li can clearly see Venus appearing ahead.

It seems that with just a little more effort, he could reach Venus.

In fact, he knows that although Venus appears close, there’s actually more than 30 million kilometers of distance remaining.

Suddenly, Lu Li feels an even more immense energy being absorbed into his body, accelerating his evolution, as if the energy here is more abundant.

He wonders if it’s an illusion, but with this energy entering his body, he feels that his already ”energized” body structure seems to have absorbed even more energy.

It seems that although his body structure previously had partially transformed into an energy form, it never seemed ”full.”

”Hmm?” Lu Li notices the change in his body and becomes puzzled, ”Previously, about fifty percent of my body was energized and after leaving Earth, I absorbed more energy from space. Clearly, I was enhancing the energyization of more body structures. Why is the energy now enhancing the already energized part of my body?”

Feeling somewhat perplexed, he continues flying while inwardly observing his body.

Initially, Lu Li doesn’t notice much difference.

However, as he continues to observe, he gradually uncovers the situation.

It turns out that after entering the fifth deep evolution, there had been a new change in his body structure.

Imagine that the original cell was fifty percent matter and the other half energy, and the energy and matter existed independently but intersected.

Now, although his cells are still half energy and half matter, they have completely merged from independent existence into a new type of ”individual” cell.

Energy and matter are indistinguishable.

At this level of evolution, the amount of energy a cell can store has increased significantly compared to before.

Lu Li makes an estimation, ”If I compare the amount of energy a single cell could store in the past as one, now the same cell can store an amount up to three.”

In other words, purely in terms of energy quantity, as long as these cells are filled with energy, I could be twice as powerful as before?

A single present self equals three of my previous selves?

Lu Li has a vague understanding of why his flight speed has increased so dramatically.

It turns out that it’s because his body structure has evolved once, making him inherently stronger, coupled with more stored energy, which has increased his flight speed to 17.2 kilometers per second.

”According to the current situation, if I fill my cells with energy, will my speed increase even more?”

Lu Li thinks it might not, ”While my body structure has indeed changed, energy has been continuously supplemented, but from the moment I left Earth until now, my flight speed remains at 12.7 kilometers per second.”

So, why is it that constantly absorbing energy to fill up doesn’t transform my body?

Lu Li cannot figure out the reason yet.

However, he believes he will know once the energy is fully replenished.

”Judging by the current rate of energy absorption and replenishment, it’s estimated that in ten hours, my body will be completely filled with energy. Then, I can see what specific changes occur.”

Lu Li doesn’t concern himself anymore with how the energy is being replenished and continues flying at full speed.

...

Earth, Ugly Country.

In a luxurious mansion in Los Angeles.

In the living room, Henry Giannini is sitting upright on a sofa.

He is holding a cigar in his hand, taking a puff, and in front of him on the coffee table lies a half-full glass of expensive red wine from the Petrus vineyard.

On a single sofa nearby, there’s another middle-aged white man in his fifties, also savoring the taste of a Cuban cigar.

Henry Giannini slowly exhales the smoke from his mouth, picks up the wine glass and softly says, ”David, it’s been a long time since we’ve sat down for a chat like this, hasn’t it?”

The middle-aged white man, addressed as ”David,” is none other than the current Sect Leader of the Fager Clan, David Fag.

He sets down his cigar, his eyes flickering slightly, and says, ”Henry, you and I aren’t strangers. What did you call me here for today? Feel free to speak.”

Henry Giannini rocks the wine glass and says calmly, ”Do you remember the marriage contract between Julia and Tom?”

David Fag squints his eyes, feigning ignorance, ”Of course, I remember. We agreed they’d marry at thirty, and there’s still two years to go. What, do you want to advance the wedding?”

Henry Giannini takes another sip of wine and shakes his head, ”No, I want to annul the marriage contract.”

David Fag had already anticipated this possibility before coming, and upon hearing it confirmed, he couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh, ”Henry, the marriage contract between Julia and Tom was arranged when your father was still alive. Our clan allocated quite a bit of resources to your Gianini Clan to cement this agreement. Now you want to annul the marriage contract? Isn’t that a bit too much?”

Henry Giannini sighs, ”I too am in a difficult situation.”

David Fag isn’t furious, and says in an indifferent tone, ”Tell me the specific reason. If it’s reasonable, I am not an unreasonable person. But if it’s not, don’t blame me for getting angry!”

Henry Giannini replies, ”Julia is pregnant.”

David Fag’s face immediately turns ashen.

Isn’t that like putting a green hat on the head of the Fager Clan?

How could he possibly have a pleasant expression?

He slams the table, about to explode!

But Henry Giannini calmly says, ”The child’s father is... a Divine Being!”

David Fag, who was on the verge of an outburst, becomes utterly stupefied.

He incredulously asks, ”Who is the child’s father?”

Henry Giannini enunciates clearly, ”A Divine Being.”

Upon hearing this, David Fag falls silent.

Henry Giannini says no more, simply sitting there, enjoying his cigar and wine leisurely.

It seems he can foresee what will happen next.

One minute.

Two minutes.

David Fag remains silent for three to four minutes.

Finally, he raises his head and says bitterly, ”It seems the engagement between Julia and Tom should indeed be annulled. A Divine Being, our Fager Clan cannot afford to offend.”

There was one more thing David Fag didn’t say out loud.

It wasn’t just that the Fager Clan couldn’t afford to offend the Ancestral Figure.

In fact, no one in the world could afford to offend this person!

At the moment, David Fag had no anger at all within him.

On the contrary, he looked at Henry Giannini with envy, thinking to himself that this old guy didn’t know what kind of luck he had stumbled upon, having a beautiful daughter who caught the eye of a Divine Being like the Ancestral Figure?

This made David Fag consider if he should select some young and beautiful descendants from the family to approach the Ancestral Figure.

The Sect Leader of the Fager Clan, a core member of the California consortium, was actually thinking of using their family women to get close to the Ancestral Figure. It goes to show how much he wanted to curry favor.

This clearly indicates the extremely important position the Ancestral Figure holds in the minds of global consortium leaders.

...

In the Cosmic Space.

Lu Li was completely unaware of the matters between Henry Giannini and David Fag.

After another dozen or so hours of speeding, he had traveled nearly 620,000 kilometers away.

Suddenly, Lu Li, who was flying at high speed, abruptly stopped.

He hovered in space, with a trace of joy on his face, ”The energy in my body is fully replenished, and I feel a surge of power all over!”

Energy is fully replenished?

Wouldn’t that mean that his previous doubts might be resolved?

Lu Li was extremely curious, and once again took a closer introspection of his body.

This time, he quickly noticed the changes happening in his body.

Cells that had long been saturated with power were now undergoing a new transformation.

He could clearly ”see” those cells shedding some basic constituents, replaced by streams of energy.

This sort of thing had been seen before, and seemed to hold nothing novel.

However, Lu Li was still taken aback, as he discovered more.

Previously, he only knew that energy replaced matter, but didn’t know how it was replaced.

Now, he saw it clearly.

Energy doesn’t directly replace matter; instead, when a portion of the matter is removed, energy forms a similar structure, filling the gap left by the extracted matter.

”Oh, so that’s how it is.”

Lu Li suddenly realized, and then had a new question, ”Previously, the speed at which energy replaced matter was incredibly fast. During my fourth deep evolution and sleep, which lasted a day or two, my entire body transformed from being completely matter-based to fifty percent energy-based; why is it so slow this time?”

He carefully observed for a moment, gradually finding answers to his questions.

It turns out that the speed at which basic bodily matter is stripped away is not the same.

Some matter, once stripped, can quickly be converted by energy into the corresponding replacement structure.

For instance, the most basic constituent of the human body: water.

However, not all matter, once stripped, can have energy quickly form a similar structure to replace it.

Replacing some matter consumes a relatively large amount of energy.

The finer the matter is, the more energy it takes to replace it.

Such as amino acids and the like.

Lu Li observed that his body at the moment wasn’t undergoing major surface-level changes as before, but rather was experiencing much smaller transformations.

In the past, proteins in his body had undergone a change.

This time, it’s progressing to peptide chains, amino acids, and so on.

It’s not that these areas hadn’t changed before.

It’s just that more energy had fused into the peptide chains, amino acids, and the like, rather than a complete energy replacement.

Lu Li kept observing, discovering that more and more fine constructs were evolving towards pure energy, but still retained a lot of materials.

This situation didn’t last long.

It ended in about ten minutes or so.

However, the amount of energy consumed was tremendous.

In just this brief period of about ten minutes, over half of the energy in his body had been expended.

Since so much energy was consumed, the gains surely wouldn’t be small.

Once these small materials were replaced by energy.

Lu Li found that another one percent of the basic constituents were infused with energy, starting to change like before.

He mused to himself, ”Turns out the energy transformation of the body is not a one-shot deal; it requires a process.”

Lu Li could roughly guess that when all the material in his body was replaced by energy, it would likely be the ultimate point of his evolution.

Now he had a small question, ”With my body’s energy transformation increasing from fifty percent to fifty-one percent, how much more power have I gained?”

Lu Li didn’t have time to test exactly how much his power had increased.

After all, he needed to quickly reach a place with more abundant energy to complete this deep evolution.

However, he could verify it indirectly.

For example, when he flies later, he could test his flight speed.

This would roughly determine how much his power had increased.

”Alright, then let’s fly with full effort now, see how much my flight speed has increased, and then determine how much this one percent energy transformation in my body has boosted my strength.”

With this in mind, Lu Li channeled the energy within his body.

He continued to fly at full speed toward the sun.

At the same time, he remained mindful, sensing how fast he was flying.
