Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 413: Chapter 358: ”Yang God

Although Lu Li had always anticipated it and knew his flying speed would be terrifying, he was still taken aback when he detected a flight speed of over seventeen thousand six hundred kilometers per second.

Most critically, he vaguely sensed that this speed wasn’t his limit, but was restricted by his energy recovery; otherwise, he could fly even faster.

Lu Li estimated that if the energy was sufficiently abundant, the flying speed his body could bear might reach twenty percent of light speed, rather than the current five point nine percent of light speed.

This is five percent more light speed than the speed imagined for human nuclear fusion spaceships.

Scientists speculate that the theoretical limit speed of a nuclear fusion-powered spaceship can reach fifteen percent of light speed, which is forty-five thousand kilometers per second.

This is a theoretical speed, only considering the power provided by nuclear fusion, not involving materials and other aspects. However, the speed of a nuclear fusion spaceship is constrained by multiple factors.

The materials used to build the spaceship and its wind tunnel models are crucial in limiting its ultimate speed.

The conversion efficiency of mass-energy in nuclear fusion generally won’t exceed one-thousandth.

The energy conversion efficiency is generally less than half.

Thus the actual ultimate speed of the spaceship is one hundred fifty kilometers per second.

Theory is theory, reality is reality; the two cannot be conflated.

For instance, scientists also speculate that the theoretical speed of an antimatter spaceship can reach half of light speed.

Is there really any material in reality that can be made into a spaceship capable of withstanding a flight of one hundred fifty thousand kilometers per second?

The answer is definitely no.

Even though the mass increase is only fifteen percent when an object reaches fifty percent light speed, seeming to be within the carrying range, the friction at such speed would be terrifying.

Perhaps a spaceship flying in the absolute vacuum of space at this speed wouldn’t have a problem.

Unfortunately, cosmic space isn’t an absolute vacuum; there are all sorts of interstellar dust and small fragments.

Once something touches at this speed, significant damage will occur immediately, potentially destroying the spaceship.

In fact, reaching five point nine percent of light speed is already terrifying.

If entering the atmosphere, generally no material could withstand the high-speed friction, the intense high temperatures generated by friction, and other conditions.

Take for example the meteorite reported in the news earlier; its falling speed reached twenty-three times the speed of sound, and after entering the atmosphere, the temperature generated by friction exceeded three thousand degrees Celsius.

Twenty-three times the speed of sound is only seven thousand eight hundred twenty meters per second, and the high temperature generated by friction exceeded three thousand degrees Celsius.

If flying at more than seventeen thousand six hundred kilometers per second like myself, after entering the atmosphere, the friction-generated high temperature would probably reach millions of degrees!

In fact, Lu Li was at this speed while flying out of Mercury and didn’t feel any high temperature.

The main reason is that in this state, he almost produces no ”friction” during flight.

This is a mysterious state, placing him between light and matter.

In Ultraman Tiga, becoming light seemed to be realized in him.

”The reason I can achieve this is due to sixty percent of my body having been transformed into energy; otherwise, it’s impossible to fly at such high speed without causing immense friction.”

Lu Li understood the reason very well.

Therefore, he could estimate that his ultimate flying speed could reach twenty percent of light speed.

”Moreover, in this state, even if I collide with the ground, it won’t cause a super-explosion of devastating power.”

Lu Li continued analyzing, ”Only by approaching the ground at this speed and releasing the state between light and matter could a super-explosion of earth-shattering destructive power occur.”

As for whether such a massive explosion could hurt himself, he wasn’t worried at all.

After the integration of his domain with the biological force field into his body, his defense is tremendously formidable.

General planet-destroying-level damage is simply impossible to harm him.

Not to mention, this collision’s power is far from reaching a planet-destroying level.

”I estimate that as the proportion of my body converted into energy increases, I will one day in the future reach light speed.”

Lu Li speculated that based on the advancements of his fifth deep evolution, it’s very likely that after completing the sixth deep evolution, his flight speed will reach light speed.

By then, during flight, his body truly would be light instead of a state between light and matter.

Of course, it’s his speculation, and it might not precisely unfold this way.

In short, transforming the body into a ”stream of light” between light and matter is a powerful ”skill.”

To a certain extent, it also serves to ”reduce damage.”

This can be seen from the high-speed flight without generating friction.

Lu Li calculated and came to a conclusion.

While in the ”stream of light” state,

he can at least reduce damage by twenty percent.

Twenty percent may not seem like much, but it’s truly terrifying.

Imagine the damage reduction if a nuclear explosion’s destructive power were reduced by twenty percent—how much could the damage range decrease?

And that’s just a nuclear bomb.

What about in the cosmos with supernova explosions, gamma-ray bursts, and other immensely powerful existences?

He roughly figured out how the ”stream of light” state benefits him.

Lu Li began to consider other aspects, ”My current flying speed is over 17,600 kilometers per second, even so, it still takes about 87 minutes to fly from Mercury to Earth, which is actually quite long.”

Thinking of this, a slight smile appeared involuntarily on his face.

”However, if it’s just for reconnaissance mode or providing some combat power, I can be even faster, like this...”

With a thought, the ”True Self” within Lu Li carried ten percent of his energy, transforming into an invisible and intangible ”thought” that he could sense, shooting towards the sun at the speed of light.

That’s right, it’s the ”reconnaissance mode”, but an upgraded version.

The previous ”reconnaissance mode” could store very limited energy.

It couldn’t use his skills, only providing certain reconnaissance capabilities.

With the completion of his fifth deep evolution, the ”reconnaissance mode” also got an upgrade.

Now, it is almost like the yang spirit described in ancient books, effortlessly achieving ”condensing into form, dispersing into qi.”

For example, now it is in the state of ”qi”, a kind of virtual and intangible form.

It can, like a photon, reach the speed of light very easily, without consuming much energy.

In the state of ”qi”, the ”reconnaissance mode” has no attack power, still only possessing reconnaissance capabilities as before.

However, once it ”condenses into form”, it turns into a ”pure energy body” identical to Lu Li himself.

In addition to being able to use most of Lu Li’s ”superpowers”.

It can also collect energy from afar and bring it back to replenish itself.

The ratio of this energy collection is consistent with what it can store, which is twenty percent of Lu Li’s full state.

Yes, the ”reconnaissance mode” can store a maximum of twenty percent of Lu Li’s full state energy, not just the ten percent separated.

The main reason he only separated out ten percent of the energy is that he wants the ”reconnaissance mode” to collect energy for him.

If he gives the full twenty percent, the ”reconnaissance mode” wouldn’t be able to collect and store energy to bring back.

”Currently, I’m not strong enough, at most I can only separate into two ’yang spirits’.”

Lu Li manipulated the ”reconnaissance mode” to fly towards the sun to collect energy for him.

”In the future, one will be for collecting energy, and one for backup, for example, if my true form explores cosmic space, one can be left to protect my parents, Liu Kexin, and others.”

Because the ”yang spirit” can autonomously collect energy, as long as it doesn’t exhaust its energy at once, he doesn’t need to worry about the ”yang spirit” left on Earth to protect family and friends will dissipate due to energy depletion.

As for the energy-collecting ”yang spirit”, although theoretically it can only collect up to twenty percent of his full state energy at once, maintaining its operation should be roughly sufficient.

In fact, the amount of energy the ”yang spirit” can collect will never reach the theoretical twenty percent.

The fundamental reason is that driving it requires a certain amount of energy itself.

The minimum proportion being five percent of its energy.

In short, the actual energy collection ratio of the ”yang spirit” is about fifteen percent of its total energy.

”Now that I’ve evolved to this extent, just the energy consumption for self-maintenance every day is enormous, taking up about ten percent of the total energy, without the ’yang spirit’ collecting energy, it’s simply not enough to sustain.”

Thinking of this, Lu Li couldn’t help but sigh at how wondrous evolution truly is.

Once reaching a certain level, it’s an all-round improvement with no apparent flaws.

This reminded him of the previous error in evolution of ”Primordial Spirit out of body”, which was thankfully corrected in time.

Otherwise, the ”yang spirit” would be the product of the ”True Self” separation, embarking daily on the path of energy collection.

Even to the point where one day energy collection wouldn’t suffice for sustenance, leading to its demise due to energy depletion.

”Comparing this, the difference between correct and incorrect evolution is vividly manifested.”

Lu Li was very satisfied with his current state.

Focusing again, he shot towards Earth at full speed.

...

Earth, on Old Ugly’s side.

The Air and Space Defense Command staff worked as usual.

For instance, monitoring all of North America’s airspace, including man-made aircraft in space.

Reconnaissance of all planes, missiles, spaceships, and meteors that might attack North America.

Normally, nothing happens.

As usual, analyst Aaron was monitoring cosmic space for meteors or similar objects that might threaten Earth’s safety.

This was more of a routine monitoring.

In the past, at most, it monitored some meteors.

And some comets, asteroids passing close to Earth.

Nothing threatening Earth’s safety.

But today, as Aaron just sat down to monitor, he immediately received a shocking feedback.

An unidentified flying object is heading towards Earth at nearly 0.6 times the speed of light!
