Counterfeit Hero

As soon as the match list was seen, the entire arena stands erupted into an uproar.

Aside from some people howling over the shocking name of Caihua Sect, even more were stunned by the rank disparity between the opposing sides on the match list.

”A Second-level Mecha Knight against a Second-level Mecha Commander, did I hear that right?” On the A zone stands, a commerce group boss who had just come from the neutral country of Flania to Mars Free Port to seek fortune, widened his ox-like eyes on his dark face and asked incredulously.

Beside him, several companions who came from Flania also turned their heads to look around. On the terraced stands, waves of heads were buzzing with chatter and noise filled their ears.

Even though the sixteen fighting arenas were empty, Arena Two had become the focus of everyone’s attention. The huge virtual screen above the main hall shimmered with colorful lights, displaying the match list clearly and unmistakably.

Second-level Mecha Knight versus Second-level Mecha Commander.

How is this different from a fight between a fourteen or fifteen-year-old kid and a burly thirty-year-old man?

Seeing the commerce group boss bewilderedly shouting, his Mars partner lightly nudged his arm: ”Lower your voice, do you know who this Baz is?”

”Who?” The commerce group boss, outwardly rugged but actually very shrewd, immediately lowered his voice and asked.

”Bandit army!” The partner uttered the term.

The commerce group boss gaped, his gaze subconsciously drifting towards Box Number Nine.

Although new to the scene, it didn’t mean the commerce group boss hadn’t heard of this infamous name.

In fact, with Shattered Ghost’s control over Mars Free Channel, countless Free Space Stations and Docks following the bandit army’s orders, trying to earn a living on Mars Free Channel without knowing the bandit army was simply unimaginable.

How the bandit army emerged, how they captured this planet, what conflicts they had with the Feiyang people, their relationship with Shattered Ghost, their methods...the commerce group boss was long weary of hearing about it. The pass in his hand was also bought with money from the bandit army. His curiosity about this army was insatiable.

Today was his first time seeing these widely rumored figures of the bandit army. Before seeing them, he had countless imaginations, but after seeing them, his first feeling was disappointment! Except for a naturally charming woman whose beauty quickened one’s heart, the others in Box Number Nine were just a fatty and four middle-aged men. Especially the much-hyped Leray fatty appeared no different from a chubby kid being bullied on the street. The only difference was age.

Now, seeing the current match list, even outsiders like the commerce group boss instantly understood that the Feiyang people and the bandit army had torn apart!

In the first round, the opponents’ ranks were basically the same, but in this second round, facing an opponent a full rank higher than him, no one would believe it wasn’t intentional by the Feiyang people. Over the past few decades, haven’t the Feiyang people done enough of this kind of domineering act across the universe?!

”Feiyang people are vicious with this move!” The partner whispered, ”That Baz was originally a young mech knight at Tai Sect Puluo Branch, a disciple of Weii Jianshan. Though talented, he ranked beyond a hundred among young mech knights on Mars. In terms of strength, he’s definitely not a match for Parkinson. Besides, you might not know, that Absolute Kill Stream’s Parkinson and Baz are mortal enemies!”

”Mortal enemies?!”

This time, not only the commerce group boss, but several people around also straightened their necks and leaned in surprised.

”What’s the matter?” the commerce group boss asked eagerly.

”Well...” The partner hesitated.

Seeing his partner’s expression, the commerce group boss understood immediately, and with a firm pat on the partner’s shoulder, he exclaimed, ”No need to say, this batch of goods goes all to you! Just getting those tickets shows your sincerity in cooperation. As for the price, damn, let’s say a 20% increase this time!”

An increase of 20%. The partner was pleased rather than angry, immediately clasping hands with the dark-faced commerce group boss, sealing the deal. Only then did he look around and quietly say, ”Years ago, I was somewhat with Absolute Kill Stream, though only participated in a couple of training sessions, not even an outer disciple. Didn’t have the talent! This matter, in fact, isn’t only known to the people of Absolute Kill Stream, it’s no secret in the Mechanical World of Mars either. Ten years ago, Parkinson killed Baz’s father in an underground mech duel. Baz was raised by his mother alone, all these years waiting for revenge. Unfortunately...”

The partner glanced at the giant virtual screen’s match list, and said no more. A Second-level Mecha Knight against a Second-level Mecha Commander, the outcome was obvious to everyone. If Baz were killed in the arena, it would be a major blow to the bandit army. In Mars, where fierce beasts roamed, reputation and morality always took a back seat to strength. If the bandit army suffered a crushing defeat this time, even forces seemingly compliant on the surface would find ways to align with the Feiyang people in secret.

The commerce group boss and those around him sighed involuntarily. In this world, ultimately, strength speaks. This time, with the bandit army sending only four young disciples to battle, it was truly a misstep. This, in fact, was also a sign of showing weakness, yet the Feiyang people, domineering and tyrannical, ruthlessly dealt such a blow without scruple. It seemed best to avoid opposing the Feiyang people.
