Counterfeit Hero

”If the General doesn’t like tea, I’ll make you a cup of coffee.”

Margaret’s smile gently spread from the corner of her mouth, like the twilight being dispelled by the sunlight emerging on the horizon. Her morning-fresh, pure smile carried a hint of shyness.

She spoke softly, as if a gentle wife speaking to her husband.

Fatty’s face twitched: ”Colonel Margaret’s tea is quite good.”

Seeing the shy expression on Margaret’s face... Fatty understood that he had encountered an absolutely difficult little demon!

It’s just uncertain why this little demon is so interested in him.

A few officers walked through the passage beside the training ground.

Looking up, the dream goddess of the Feiyang soldiers was chatting and laughing with that Leray fatty.

”General Tian, what game are you playing?” Margaret looked at the officers passing by downstairs, changing the topic casually without leaving a trace: ”I saw you brought back a game pod.”

”Thousand-Mile Victory.” Fatty was feeling depressed after confronting the computer hundreds of times yesterday, so when Margaret asked, he immediately became interested: ”Colonel Margaret should be quite familiar with it, right?”

”Of course.” Margaret smiled gently: ”After all, it’s our Feiyang game and a compulsory course for military personnel. However, compared to this, I prefer your country’s ’Sky-Filling Fire.’” Margaret’s alluring eyes lightly turned, as if casting a loving glance, or perhaps doing nothing at all: ”I heard... General Tian is a mecha master who has challenged nine major schools in a row. I wonder if I have the opportunity to be instructed by the General...”

”Yes, yes, yes...” Fatty smiled warmly, nodding quickly: ”I also want to ask Colonel Margaret to guide me in ’Thousand-Mile Victory.’ I’m just playing this game, completely a rookie!”

”Oh?” Margaret was momentarily stunned, then realized the fatty was a mechanic soldier by background. It’s not surprising he hadn’t played ’Thousand-Mile Victory.’ She secretly rejoiced: ”Then it’s settled! In ’Thousand-Mile Victory,’ I am a Vice Admiral. The name is clever and smart little lady. I wonder about General Tian...”

Fatty was thunderstruck, bewildered, and struggled for a long time: ”Let me clarify, I’m really not trying to take advantage of you...”

The streets of Ophield City, the capital of Blue Stone Star in the Saleria Longbow Star System, crisscross with people and traffic like shuttles.

Although it’s the territory of the Saleria Federation, the streets now bear a strong Suss flavor. Restaurants and hotels with large Suss signs, tightly protected Suss settlement areas, flying cars with Suss license plates given priority passage, government buildings with Suss emblems, and squads of arrogant Suss soldiers all constantly remind the locals that this land has been ”leased” to the Suss Empire.

Emotions always shift from anger and opposition to helplessness and submission. Days quietly transition from discomfort to familiarity.

However, as the Saleria people become accustomed to the ubiquitous presence of the Suss people, accustomed to being second-class citizens on their own land, they suddenly discover an intriguing phenomenon.

With the arrival of the Jiepeng Fleet, countless Jiepeng people seem to flood onto this planet overnight. In the city, Jiepeng restaurants, shops, and settlement areas begin appearing rapidly.

And between the Suss people and the Jiepeng people, things are not as amicable as their alliance agreements might suggest. There seems to be a tense atmosphere between the two sides.

Carrying anger and humiliation, the Saleria people watch coldly.

Although their status remains equally low, if they can witness these conqueror-like figures fighting among themselves, they find some comfort in their pain. They wish these people would battle until they’re all exhausted.

The heavy brown metal-edged wooden door of the Southeastern Allied Army Command Post conference room in Saleria is slightly ajar. In the dimly lit hallway, every ten meters, two Jiepeng guards in dark green uniforms stand upright. These soldiers with extremely short hair, expressionless faces, and sharp eyes exude a chill from start to end, like sculptures, silent and unmoving, contrasting sharply with the noisy conference room filled with Jiepeng officers!

”What was the Suss A1 Fleet thinking at that time?” A Jiepeng Colonel lounged in his chair: ”To let a battered Chuckna Fleet deploy the Luu Zecheng Formation in battle... Were they annoyed by their allies being too bothersome?”

”The stories have spread across all nations. The Suss people, who have always prided themselves on creating miracles, indeed created a miracle.” In the smoky atmosphere of the conference room, a Major General sitting near the window with a cigarette in his mouth sneered: ”Luu Zecheng Formation... How could they bear such humiliation?!”

”The Suss people take themselves too seriously.” An officer with a pale countenance coldly laughed: ”These savages always dream of squeezing out from the Eastern Star Domain. This time, capturing Resk, occupying the main passageway, and stationed in Saleria, with their dreams on the verge of reality, they became complacent. Unfortunately, they forgot that for over a thousand years, the one obstacle they’ve never overcome is us, Jiepeng! No matter how high they jump, the overlord of the Southeast Star Domain remains the Jiepeng Empire.”
