Counterfeit Hero

Very quickly, the Feiyang Republic Military realized the benefits of this game.

A company with military background successfully acquired the game. After the acquisition, with the influx of a more professional team and more substantial funds, the game embarked on its journey of over a century of enduring development.

From the initial few simple maps to later encompassing realistic simulated battlefields of major planets across the universe. From dozens of simple battlefield conditions to tens of millions of environmental and weapon data. This game, advancing continuously with the progress of the era and technology, saw batch after batch of players enter, grow, and create miracle after miracle.

For 120 years, Thousand-Mile Victory has accrued massive wealth for the Feiyang Republic, while also supplying the Feiyang Republic with a large number of military talents. Practicing what one learns on this platform helps students quickly understand military theories and command strategies, and also in peacetime, allows students to accumulate a wealth of experience, broadening their horizons and insights. Over the past 60 years, the game has inevitably gone global, even becoming an important part of teaching methods and assessment subjects in military academies worldwide.

To say that a Major General Commander has not entered ”Thousand-Mile Victory” is simply absurd to the extreme.

Now, Fatty logged into his newly registered rookie ID — ”Honest and Adorable Gentleman” — with some frustration.

Unlike ”Sky-Filling Fire”, ”Thousand-Mile Victory” does not have anything like leveling up. Although the game also has a story line and background setting, all of this is completed through battles one after another. Starting from programmed campaigns, after reaching platoon leader level, players begin small-scale battles with others, and step by step, as the position rises, the commanded troops grow larger and stronger.

In the story-driven campaigns, low-level players can choose to join the camp of high-level players; the victors gain a rich score boost, while the scores of the defeated are deducted, and military ranks can be demoted if scores fall below the standard. Hence, national wars in the game are carried out with great caution.

In this environment, low-level players who are not trusted fare worse than in the real world. No one wants you, and you can only gradually level up in solo matches with computers or regular players. But this is much more difficult than storyline wars between players. High-level players are also chosen by low-level players. A high-level player with a low winning rate struggles to gain strong support from subordinates. Sometimes, after one or two major battles, a failing high-level player might be demoted from Admiral to Colonel.

Fatty, the rookie recruit, initially started as a squad leader, executing system tasks, commanding team members in combat.

For Fatty, this should have been second nature.

However, in reality, he mostly relied on leading from the front. But in this game, all tasks must be executed through issuing commands.

Despite his urgency, Fatty could only watch as his first commanded battle saw 60% of his soldiers eliminated by the program due to insufficient individual soldier strength, even though they ultimately won, it was a bitter victory.

Fatty was utterly frustrated. This was just a beginner-level battle. Two levels higher, and wouldn’t his entire army be wiped out?

In the second round, he finally set himself straight, beginning to consider problems from a commander’s perspective.

Despite commanding just a ten-person squad, Fatty analyzed every condition given by the system meticulously. After integrating intelligence, understanding the environment his team was in throughout the battle, higher command instructions, potential enemy and system-friendly positions, and other conditions like weapons, terrain, air support, electronic advantages, etc., he finally managed to scrape through the battle sweating profusely.

This time, Fatty’s soldiers suffered 30% losses.

This is unacceptable! A dignified Major General, Leray Hero. Commanding a squad in a minor battle and still having casualties is utterly embarrassing.

Fatty’s stubborn streak kicked in, and he began to go head-to-head with the system. Not only did he want victory, but he also wanted it with the least casualties, preferably with none at all.

This seemed like a tall tale, but Fatty was determined to tackle the game.

As a result, all players could see an idiot named ”Honest and Adorable Gentleman” inexplicably stuck at squad leader rank in the lowest level battlefields, dueling against the computer when he could’ve upgraded long ago.

In this predominantly individual command and strategy game, the computer program is almost invincible. No matter how sophisticated the human brain is, at most, it controls hundreds of simulation conditions as those God-level figures over 120 years. But the game program masters conditions that are nearly limitless. Even in the smallest-scale squad battles, the conditions distributed across weather, terrain, personnel, weaponry, training levels, and time management are in the thousands.

In the game’s program design, to prevent players from advancing too easily, the program always includes a floating variable in terms of condition application and command. This means, whether just passing or extraordinarily skilled, the program is not easily defeated. The better you want your performance, the more conditions are called upon, making the program harder.

Fatty.... plunged headfirst into a pit that ordinary people never would.

Damn it! Do people still have to die like this?!

Once more!

.Never felt such pride. The daughter took exams, even conquered the judges. Felt she was so radiant. At five years old, she’s already got it. Some judges even said to attend her music academy when she grows up. Couldn’t stop smiling. Chinese dance and ballet, both were excellent. Out of dozens in her class, only two got excellent, and she was one of them. Even the teacher was extremely proud. Haha.

Furthermore, a huge thank you to all the brothers supporting this book, streaking for votes, and even popping White Goose’s bubble, truly a double delight. This chapter is to repay what’s owed!
