Counterfeit Hero

Perhaps they will travel through the universe like a ghost ship, or perhaps be captured by a planet or a constant star, becoming an asteroid unlike any other of its kind. The greater possibility is to completely vanish in a collision.

Under Brenridge’s command, two cruiser squads composed of eight cruisers and two destroyer squads composed of twenty destroyers, under the cover of other Suss battleships, moved towards the main formation in the S21 airspace.

Their departure added insult to injury to the already struggling Suss cruiser and destroyer clusters. Under the mass attack from the Chuckna warships, the remaining six or seven warships could only hold on for less than three minutes before they were completely wiped out. However, these three minutes were enough for the retreating Suss warships to escape the slaughter of the Chuckna Fleet.

Meanwhile, the Suss battleship cluster had already fully entered the S21 Star Domain. When they were five hundred kilometers from the carrier, their formation split into two parts, like two vertical and horizontal iron chains, circling around the mothership. All the rotating turret, anti-aircraft missiles had been fully manned. The carrier’s only two squadrons of fighters were also fully released. Facing the enemy’s six squadrons of fighter clusters, no one dared to be complacent.

”The enemy fighter groups have entered the S21 airspace!”

”Speed level 21, Trident Fleet. Expected engagement in 40 seconds.”

”Enemy battleship cluster accelerating, has entered A20 and D20 airspace, moving towards S22 airspace.”

”Enemy cruiser and destroyer cluster breaking through S19 airspace, assaulting directly on the S21 airspace.”

Like the calm before the storm, the atmosphere was tense and oppressive.

Everyone in the A1 Fleet understood that the battle had reached the most critical point. Now the A1 Fleet had completed the encirclement suppression of the enemy battleship cluster. If they could hold off the Chuckna Fleet for a few more minutes, the A2 Fleet could complete the leap! Don’t be fooled by the current chaos of the Chuckna people; by then, both the Chuckna destroyer and cruiser cluster in the front and the Chuckna battleship cluster trying to circle to the farther S22 airspace would be doomed!

”Maintain the parallel angle with the enemy battleship cluster.” Seeing his fleet’s cruisers and destroyers already escaped the slaughter of the Chuckna Fleet, Brenridge smirked and commanded: ”Move the main formation back. Delay time!”

”Yes!”

The adjutant had just finished speaking when on the large central control screen, a Chuckna Fighter fired at the approaching Suss Fighter.

As this energy cannon light flashed in the dark night sky, all the Chuckna Fighters flipped, rushing toward the defensive circle formed by battleships; the Suss Fighters spread out to meet them, while the rotating turrets of battleships instantly drew countless fire lines.

Just then, suddenly, a report from an adjutant reached Brenridge’s ears.

”General... the... Transport Fleet is sending a distress signal!” Standing under the command platform, hand clutching the headset microphone, looking up at the command platform in panic, the adjutant’s voice trembled: ”They’re being attacked by the Chuckna Fleet! The signal was detected at the coordinates 45302.19923.78844.4!”

’What?!’ Brenridge’s face changed drastically as he looked at the interstellar map.

The coordinates mentioned by the adjutant were right in the Smoke Lake Barrier Zone behind the S30 airspace!
