Counterfeit Hero

The odd thing is the formation and position of the Suss Fleet.

Perhaps, in terms of command skills, Fatty is still an outsider who hasn’t received formal training and lacks theoretical foundation. However, having weathered countless storms of bullets and working always at the frontlines, behind enemy lines, he has gained a most clear and intuitive understanding of war. This understanding far surpasses the keen intuition of a typical military commander!

The one who understands Fatty’s insight best is Russell.

At the end of the Miloke Battle, Russell had already arrived at Leray and couldn’t believe, by any means, that the one who saw through his plans was a small, barely twenty-year-old lieutenant combat staff!

In his view, whether it was the Mythical Army’s attempt to seize Katos Canyon, cutting off the communication between Leray’s counterattack forces, or later the feigned retreat of the Pearce Signal and Gazalin Army, the one who could see through them should at least be a senior leader with rich combat experience and strong military theoretical foundation, who had gone through many wars and developed considerable strategic intuition and a comprehensive view.

However, unexpectedly, the one who truly comprehended all of this was just a young combat staff member.

Later, Russell realized that to see through his strategy in the Miloke Battle, Fatty relied on this intuition born half from nature and half developed during life-and-death escapes and combats, nearly as instinct.

His timid nature and the perilous environment he found himself in both forced his intuition to grow increasingly keen. Like a deer in the jungle, any hint of danger provokes swift vigilance.

This intuition, though still primitive, and not yet comparable to the intuition accumulated by a commander through countless experiences, is indeed a talent that a commander could only hope to encounter.

It was from that moment that Russell made up his mind to take Fatty as a student.

Now, upon seeing the combat stance of the Suss Fleet, Fatty felt something was extremely wrong.

During intense battles, the execution of tactics and trajectories of warships on both sides should naturally shift with the changes in battle state. Just like in the battle commanded by Fang Xiang, all tactics, formation changes, evasions, duels, and shootings between the bandit army’s surprise attack and the Suss Transport Fleet’s struggle are natural.

It doesn’t require thought, it’s an unconscious reaction!

However, at this moment, in the seemingly intense battle, the Suss Fleet clearly exhibited an abnormal sensation.

If the Chuckna Fleet can be seen as real soldiers on the battlefield, fighting instinctively, with no distractions and life on the line, then the Suss Fleet appears more like actors performing in front of the camera in a war film!

Actors......Actors......Fatty repeatedly chewed on the word. He sensed something amiss, yet he couldn’t pinpoint it accurately. It was only when the word ”actor” flashed through his mind, he felt as though he was grasping something...

As Fatty pondered, he unconsciously performed synchronous simulations on the tactical computer about the war situation.

The simulations showed that the Chuckna Fleet was gradually gaining the upper hand.

From their desperate assault, the Suss Fleet had already lost over forty percent of its warships. This partially credited the strong military quality of the Chuckna people themselves, and their fleet also holds a noticeable advantage in the advanced state of their warships.

Being recognized as the third-largest nation in human society, Chuckna leads Suss Empire, which is only three-fifth its size, in economics, technology, and industrial manufacturing levels. For many years, Chuckna warships have been models for numerous national defense industries. Particularly their ”Unhindered Stride” Space Carriers and carrier-based ”Lightning Falcon” Space Fighters are representative works of Chuckna’s new-generation combat platforms.

At this moment, it became a last stand for the Chuckna people, who went completely berserk.

Their battleship cluster launched simultaneous volleys every two minutes, pouring their terrifying artillery fire. This is the limit of modern state-of-the-art main cannon charging. One energy cannon light burst after another continuously converged into rampaging torrents of energy in the universe, crashing toward the main formation of the Suss Fleet. They didn’t care whether the cannon bore could withstand it or not.

Their cruisers had penetrated the right-wing formation of the Suss Fleet twice. The entire right wing of the Suss Fleet was punched into a honeycomb. Of course, the price they paid was six cruisers floating amidst the Suss warship wreckage.

Their destroyers and space fighters, small in size and fast in speed, charged back and forth within the main formation of the Suss Fleet. Those fighters displayed frantic flight maneuvers, not only chased and fought against Suss fighters but also frequently shuttled through the net-like dense artillery light chain of the Suss warships and fired from the surface of opponent battleships.

Fatty didn’t need to look to know it was Zhang Pengcheng’s style. Chuckna fought magnanimously and exacted revenge clearly. Once they caught a Suss warship, they pursued it until destroyed, like the feeling Zhang Pengcheng’s square face with sharp eagle eyes gives. The old guy was clearly fighting with passion!

Managing to fight from surprise attacks after ending the jump to reaching a stage where the losses with the Suss Fleet were almost balanced, these Chuckna people indeed made Fatty see them with new eyes.

Synchronous simulations indicated that the Suss Fleet was gradually sliding into the abyss of defeat. It’s like two people arm-wrestling, after holding out for half an hour, one eventually can’t sustain. This slow advantage loss is fatal; once the critical line breaks, not even gods could save them!

A Chuckna cruiser diagonally at forty-five degrees slipped past two Suss destroyers, its right wing dozens of rotating turrets unleashing firepower like light whips dancing in the night sky, the two Suss destroyers swiftly moved downwards, counterattacked, and curved a semi-circle in mid-air, converging towards the central area........

Actor......Camera!

An idea struck Fatty’s mind like a bolt of lightning.

After seeing the trajectory of the two destroyers, he finally understood why he felt something was off—like the coordination between an actor and the camera, these Suss warships were deliberately maneuvering!

What reason made these Suss warships firmly remain in that airspace, engaging in a deadly back-and-forth with the Chuckna warships, while refusing to conduct broader, more effective large-scale maneuvers?

What reason made many of their warships prefer to go head-to-head with the Chuckna rather than engage in coordinated multi-ship maneuvers?

When he saw on the interstellar map that no matter how fierce the battle was, the Oasis Airspace remained a blank area, Fatty immediately understood.

This area is the start or end point of three Jump Channels. Suss’s A1 Fleet attacked the Feiyang Fleet in this Star System, entangling the Chuckna Fleet. Would their other fleets stand by or remain unaware of this?

As long as the A1 Fleet can hold the Chuckna, attracting the Chuckna’s ships to where they are, then when a fleet finishes its jump and appears from that blank airspace, Zhang Pengcheng and his fleet will be done for.

Fatty felt a chill down his back.

The one who set up this trap was naturally Gershkov from the Suss Saleria Army Group, most skilled in space warfare.

This Suss Admiral, appearing short, with a gloomy gaze and a half-bald head in his personal intelligence’s 3D image, couldn’t have known in advance that the Fei Alliance Fleet would attack the Suss Transport Fleet in this Star System. Therefore, the trap appearing here now can only prove that Gershkov meticulously planned the battles that could occur in any Star System!

The Suss people’s overall commander is an old fox, and the Suss Commander directing the Suss Fleet against Zhang Pengcheng in the Oasis Airspace isn’t an easy character either.

To persist until now under Chuckna’s more advanced warships and desperate warriors, while consistently executing the overall tactical layout, and subtly holding Chuckna Fleet’s attention, is enough to prove his command skills!

What to do? Fatty was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan. Sweat beads formed on the tip of his nose.

It’s certain to convey his deduction to Zhang Pengcheng. The problem is, how can the Chuckna 1201 Fleet slip from under the Suss people’s noses!

Now, although the Suss A1 Fleet is at a disadvantage, they still have enough power to hold the Chuckna Fleet. The Chuckna might fight desperately, potentially inflicting great losses on them, but if the Chuckna dare to turn and flee, the situation will immediately reverse!

If running away turns into a rout, then whether the Suss have reinforcements won’t matter.

It’s like drinking poison to quench thirst; knowing continuing to fight might lead into an enemy’s trap, yet they must fight on! This setup isn’t mysterious; seen plainly, it’s an open scheme daring you to fall for it!

”Commander... intercepted distress signal from the Suss Transport Fleet!” A staff officer at SkyNet’s central console turned and reported loudly.

”Is electronic interference controlled?” Fang Xiang beside Fatty, eyes slightly narrowed like two extremely slender willow leaves, her pupils black as an abyss, shimmering with sharp and enchanting light.

”Not transmitted out!” The staff officer who spoke, originally from the Saleria Longbow Fleet, was no stranger to Fang Xiang’s transformation during wartime. He answered loudly, ”The signal is rearranged and restored by us, the original signal has been completely disrupted!”

”Understood.” Fang Xiang bowed her head and continued manipulating the tactical computer.

The attack on the Suss Transport Fleet has entered the final stage. She needs to carefully and meticulously wrap it up. Capturing an additional warship further strengthens the bandit army!

Fatty scratched his scalp, looked at Fang Xiang, then at the staff officer who turned back, and then at the simulation program on the computer before him, dazed in contemplation.
