Counterfeit Hero

Fang Xiang regretted it very much.

Right now, she was commanding the remaining eleven ”Redemption”-class battleships of the Chuckna Fleet, twenty ”Cataclysm”-class cruisers, thirty-four ”Falcon”-class destroyers, and six ”Lightning Falcon” space fighter battalions with over two hundred fighters. Whether in terms of the number of vessels or the precision of command, they were far superior to the previous assault on the Suss Transport Fleet, yet the workload was reduced by more than half!

While issuing commands to the various ships of the Suss Fleet, she even had time to guide the bandit army on the handling procedures for the Suss Transport Ship and the captured battleships.

Now, every time she saw the Fatty beside her using the speed of his Mecha control hands to expertly maneuver his fingers across the tactical computer, Fang Xiang regretted not having handed all the simulation work to this freak before.

The command computer had already gained control of the SkyNet of the 1201 Fleet, with all the information received by the battleships within the SkyNet. From the position of the battleships and enemies faced, electronic interference, firepower intensity, to the power cabin failures, ammunition reserves, personnel status of the battleships, almost all information was within the SkyNet.

In Fang Xiang’s experience as a commander of the Saleria Longbow Local Fleet, even if the staff size of the mothership’s Combat Command Center were doubled, it would be impossible to process this information simultaneously. It’s not a matter of insufficient manpower, but the information being scattered among people, unable to aggregate and generate efficacy.

If you were to draft a battle plan, especially when performing synchronous simulations, and had to consult with each staff member for the information they controlled and resolve conflicts within this information, then it would be better not to fight this battle. Time would be entirely consumed by that.

However, after years of studying simulation, Fang Xiang still could not understand how there could be such a freak Fatty in this world, capable of simultaneously managing over three hundred simulation conditions!

Plus the real-time simulations conducted according to procedures by the likes of Carl and other staff from the bandit army Combat Staff Department, other than issuing commands and controlling tactical execution, having other tasks to do would indeed be bizarre.

The Fatty beside her was evidently fully immersed. This pale and chubby guy was gnashing his teeth at the tactical computer. His chubby hands, with a few small dimples, seemed to be twitching. The simulation map icons, routes, and data on the computer screen were flipping and changing at lightning speed. Various strange symbols arranged in different styles, like scattered flower petals.

Fang Xiang could not be considered a great general. Even though she graduated from the Military Academy with the best grades in history and became the commander of the Saleria Longbow Local Fleet through ability, she still did not rank among the military strategists of the human world. At most, she was just a very promising rising star.

Fang Xiang herself admitted, it’s not modesty, but that she not only studied military theory but also the history of warfare and witnessed numerous classic battles. After leaving the Military Academy, she saw and noticed even more.

In this world, many professions can be faked with impostors. But not the profession of a commander, especially a wartime commander! In peacetime, the consequence of faking usually reveals itself during a simulation, a practical exercise, leading to disgrace. In wartime, such people are either sent to a military court or shot dead by a furious uncontrolled gun!

So, not to mention those commanders who created exemplary battles featured in textbooks, even the ordinary commanders of Saleria, Fang Xiang has seen many unremarkable but uniquely skilled individuals.

From her perspective, the Fatty now does not yet qualify as a competent commander.

He is not calm enough, or rather not ruthless enough. He also hasn’t learned systematic command skills, nor has he a solid foundation in military theory. Besides a simulation technique that no one understands but is extraordinarily fast, he understands almost nothing else. Even the not-so-advanced tactical coordination and tactical execution control can leave him dumbfounded.

Yet, this guy is clearly a genius-level commander.

If, with his simulation technique, he can qualify for most command or staff positions, then his wildly imaginative thinking, along with his unique, sharp insight, and keen intuition, can take away many jobs at once.

What’s even more terrifying is that Fang Xiang couldn’t figure out why this guy, clearly an outsider in the field of command, can, when discovering a problem, always come up with a solution in line with military theory, perhaps even dazzling.

His line of thinking seemingly never takes a wrong turn, always rushing to the right place at the first moment, consistently allowing Fang Xiang to see traces of classic battles in his battle plans!

If such a person could roll around a bit in ”Thousand-Mile Victory,” systematically learn some command techniques, and be tempered by practical combat experience, what kind of person would he become? Just imagining it made Fang Xiang’s heart race!

The young generation of genius-level commanders she once learned about, met, or saw around the world, whether arrogant or introverted, sinister, or vibrant and handsome, all paled in comparison to his talent. Once sculpted and ready to emerge, this person might amaze the public eye!

”Hehehehehe.”

Fang Xiang’s train of thought was interrupted by Fatty’s honest and silly laughter. Several simulation tasks and plans had already been transmitted to the command console computer.

Fang Xiang shook her head. These plans had just been discussed with the Fatty, all meticulous and revolving around the tactical execution details of each vessel in the Chuckna based on the first real-time combat plan. In just two or three minutes, the Fatty had completed them, seemingly adding maddening elements that made him laugh so contentedly.

The designated time, designated location, designated route, and designated target!

On the cruiser ”Brooks,” Captain Andre furiously commanded his battleship according to the demands of that SM.King in the command system.

Except for specific battle measures like how to fire and evade, everything else appeared in the command system.

Attacking the Suss Mother Ship, and yet this guy thought of it!

Andre couldn’t understand how, with time to design routes and offer battle guidance specifically for the ”Brooks,” that Leray Fatty didn’t take a moment to sandwich his head with a door panel. Maybe then, his dementia would be cured!

Before he took command, the three cruiser clusters, four destroyer clusters, and space fighters of the 1201 Fleet had been engaged around the Suss Fleet for over forty minutes. Several assaults had only nibbled off the right wing of the Suss Fleet, and attempts to penetrate the main formation of the Suss Fleet ended fruitlessly. Unable to penetrate the main formation, how could they take down the enemy’s mother ship?

”Colonel, Sector D16, Channel G8, two Suss Cruisers are rushing towards us at high speed!”

”Enemy ship [Kast], turning to my ship’s left wing, is launching an attack on us.”

”Enemy ship main gun charging... S-shaped evasive maneuver!”

”Damn it!” Watching from the porthole, a comet-like energy cannon light streaking by the battleship into the vast depths of space, the irritable Andre couldn’t help but want to curse.

Since receiving orders and moving towards the right wing of the Suss Fleet, the [Brooks] cruiser hadn’t seriously fired a few shots. Always ordered to follow the route set by the command system, constantly advancing, turning, looping, and circling... To attack the enemy’s mother ship, one must organize an attack, so what is all this running around and circling about?!

Now it’s better, enemy ships are on both the left and right wings of [Brooks]. The [Soarer] behind and two destroyers also seem to be blocked by the obliquely inserted Suss cruiser. In the advancing path above, two more Suss cruisers come head-on. Continuing forward according to the command system’s designated route is simply courting death!

”Captain, this can’t continue!” An advisor urged, ”We must turn to the F2 channel, or we’ll be trapped here!”

Andre stared at the command computer, gritted his teeth, and punched the command table, ordering: ”Left turn at 2250 degrees...”

”Wait, Captain!”

Suddenly, the radar operator at the central control console shouted loudly: ”The enemy is being tagged by our [Iliad] and [Oda]! They’re attacking the two Suss cruisers in the G8 channel! Hey... [Beowulf], [Song of Roland] also flanked them, my gosh, those two Suss cruisers are being completely overwhelmed!”

The radar operator’s cheerful voice left Andre somewhat stunned... These cruisers, just a few minutes ago, during a bizarre reverse detour via the K2 channel, were scattered around K2, so how come they are now collectively appearing here?

The corner of his eye suddenly caught the communication command channel’s green light shining on the command table, the sign that in electronic warfare, the Chuckna Fleet holds an advantage, ensuring smooth regional communication.

Andre quickly pressed the communicator: ”This is Andre, Shao’er, are you there?”

”I’m here! Me and Beck are here.” The channel transmitted the light-hearted voice of [Iliad] ship captain Shao’er: ”I tell you, Andre, I never expected you had a knack for being bait! On this journey, I’ve had the thrill of my life! You guys kept darting around in front, throwing the Suss Fleet into disarray, while we cleaned up behind. Those guys couldn’t even turn around before we blew them away. Afterward, I’ll split my achievements with you and give you credit!”

Andre was taken aback: ”You were following us?”

”Not exactly following, but we’re all moving along the routes given by the command system. You guys stirred up the battlefield center, and the Suss Fleet scrambled to block you, getting pulled into chaos. We followed the command system, fighting our way through, with the main guns never stopping! Most of the credit goes to you, I never thought your movements would be so tactfully clever!” The communication channel featured the voice of [Beowulf] ship captain Beck.

What cleverly tactical!

Andre wanted to curse but eventually held back, just staring blankly at the command system.

”Captain, we...”

As they approached the G8 channel, the main navigator couldn’t help but inquire.

”Beep...” A new command popped up on the command computer—enter G9 channel, collaborate with [Igor], and attack the enemy [Xisoba] battleship.

”Why are you still hesitating?” Andre suddenly jumped up: ”Quick, follow the command system’s designated route! Faster, faster!”

The battleship regained speed, shifted at 300 degrees, and entered the G8 channel.

From a distance, Andre saw on the long-range viewer screen that two besieged Suss battleships were already losing their shape. Further away, at the end of the G8 channel in the upper space layer, a Suss battleship was doing an outer circle following their flank, and on the other side, [Igor] battleship had stealthily entered the attack area.

”Cleverly tactical...” Andre repeatedly mouthed the words, his eyes beginning to shine.

.Answering questions about the 3K party. Actually, this is a method I devised to motivate myself to complete six thousand words every day. I can’t hold onto drafts; when I reach a certain length, I want to publish them. I’ll post at four thousand, or five thousand. Once posted, it seems there’s no motivation left, and I’ll wander about, drinking, eating, handling business, as if the fire inside me isn’t fueled, and I can’t write anything. Now I’ll post three thousand, and if there’s only one chapter, I’ll definitely be scolded. To avoid being criticized, I’ll quickly follow up on my thoughts and write another three thousand. So, I manage to reach six thousand a day.
