Counterfeit Hero

New Era, August 2063.

The battle between the two major military groups in the human world was already in full swing.

The Feiyang Republic and the Binart Empire in the Karsdon Star River; the Chuckna Republic and the Fei Alliance Joint Army led by Fiscella, opposing the Western Alliance led by Jiepeng General Mikami Yuto, in the Southeast Main Channel; the Ryan Republic and the Naga Federation in the Central Star Domain... Southeast, Northwest, Central, the two major military groups, totaling more than forty countries, were dragged into war.

The war was spreading, and many areas that were relatively peaceful before had become battlegrounds.

Under the baton of Sobel and Hastings, the entire human world danced in the flames of war.

Countless fleets shuttled through the starry sky, fought fiercely, and shattered.

Countless Mechas surged out from the giant transport ships like sandstorms, sweeping across planets, destroying cities.

Countless infantry ran in the explosion flashes and rain-like falling dirt and rubble, crawled forward through gunfire and smoke, and fell amidst blood and Fierce Fire.

Every inch of human land was groaning, and the sound of artillery was the main theme of this era.

However, the blazing flames of war had not yet reached their fiercest level. The war continued to escalate, the clashes between the two camps across the universe were intense yet subtle, like a brewing storm in the dark clouds. No one knew when more frenzied thunder, lightning, wind, and hail would strike suddenly.

Everyone could only persist and wait in pain.

No one knew how long they would survive, no one could see the future clearly.

This was a chaotic world, where the people lived in suffering!

While the battle was fierce and tense, surprisingly, the Southeast Star Domain, where the war initially erupted, welcomed a brief period of calm.

The Central Leray Star Domain was completely controlled by the Western Alliance. The Brody Regime intensely suppressed civilian resistance emotions, while the alliance forces of Jiepeng, Desic, and Suss, stationed six fleets in the Leray Capital Star and another four in the Free Star System of the Central Star Domain. Almost all space ports, resource planets, and interstellar channels fell into Western hands.

In the cities, with the landing of giant transport ships filled with Western Alliance people, control gradually shifted. Leray’s own military was strictly monitored and managed, Leray people were bound by countless temporary management regulations, the civilian network was regulated, speech and media were strictly vetted, and even walking on the streets wasn’t allowed for three people at the same time. Otherwise, it was an illegal gathering.

The streets were patrolled by Western police officers, the upscale hotels and restaurants were frequented by Western government officials, and factories and companies were forcibly occupied or acquired by Western enterprises.

Pillage was everywhere. Leray was like an egg without its shell, easily infested by flies.

Due to Chuckna Republic’s massive counterattack in the Resk Star System, the struggle for control of the main channel was imminent. The Western Alliance who occupied the Leray Channel showed no intention of attacking Leray’s Newton Star System and Galileo Star System. Meanwhile, Fiscella hoped that the Mars Front Army commanded by Chuckna and Carolina could occupy the main channel and threaten Mikami Yuto’s flank. Thus, fleets from both sides confronted each other on either side of the Jump Point, maintaining a delicate balance.

War continued in a mix of intensity and calm.

In the struggle for the Southeast Star Domain, both ordinary citizens and generals of various countries focused their attention on the Freedom Channel.

With the entry of Chuckna’s three fleets and a B-grade fleet from the Feiyang Republic into the main channel, and the arrival of Carolina at Mars Free Port, this attention grew increasingly close.

However, neither Hastings nor Sobel, neither Fiscella, Carolina, Mikami Yuto, nor Ulianov noticed the bandit army deep within the Freedom Channel. Nor were they aware that a fleet hidden within the nebula in Bermuda Star System was preparing for a difficult migration codenamed ”Hope.”

”General Russell, these are the latest intelligence reports.”

In the command room of the carrier named ’Hidden Blade’, which was named after this squad, a staff officer handed a silver electronic folder to Russell, who had just entered through the automatic cabin door.

”The electronic ship’s information transmitter has been set up and can now successfully receive civilian network information. Albert’s encrypted machine forwarder has also been delivered within the coverage of the communication tower along the channel, ready to be launched when necessary.”

”Hmm.” Russell focused intently on the intelligence reports and advised, ”Make sure to hide the encryption machine forwarder well, design multiple relays, and while ensuring smooth communication, delay the enemy’s tracking as much as possible.”

”Yes, General.” The staff officer nodded and replied.

”Alright, that’s all for now. I’ll call for you when I need you.” Russell slightly smiled and saluted the staff officer: ”Thank you.”

”Yes, General Russell.” The staff officer quickly stood upright and saluted.

The smiling Russell always gave people a sense of gentle affinity, like a spring breeze. Until Russell turned and left, the staff officer was still staring at Russell’s silhouette in a daze.

When would he become a great general like Russell?

To conquer someone, all it takes is a smile, a salute, and a thank you.

”Pipi.” Russell walked into the core command room located on the third floor of the elliptical command hall, and said to the little kid lying on the sofa reading a novel: ”The civilian network is connected.”
