Counterfeit Hero

The oval-shaped command room of the Vast Space Carrier is located on the third level of the eighth deck bridge. Directly in front of the command room is a 40-meter wide and 4-meter high floor-to-ceiling porthole. Outside the porthole is the wide, flat upper deck of the carrier, covered with thick external armor.

The deck is arched, narrowing towards the bow. On it are two 40-meter long secondary guns, sixteen anti-aircraft rotating turrets, maintenance rails, missile launch wells, and emergency docking arms. These installations, along with the outer armor, form the rigid and complex lines of the carrier.

Beyond the outer deck lies the boundless universe.

Endless stars in all directions, nebulas stretching across the sky, eternal light and darkness, like water, flowing from all sides, tightly enveloping the warship. Being here is like being at the depths of a lake, with light infiltrating through the water, vaguely mottled reflections by the lakeside, and the eternal darkness at the deepest part of the lakebed.

Human technology is still not enough to understand the entire universe, let alone create one. However, visually, modern technology can completely replicate everything seen.

A huge SkyNet primary virtual screen is above the floor-to-ceiling porthole at the front of the command room.

Right now, this virtual space, woven with light, is like a miniature universe, quietly suspended in front of everyone. Its complete realistic presentation always makes people wonder if, by reaching out, they could touch another space.

In this virtual space, a Suss Battleship is hastily turning and firing. Behind it, a Chuckna Battleship has already raised its bow, and on the other side, a Chuckna Cruiser is aiming at the port midsection of the Suss Battleship. The countless artillery fires between the two sides are interweaving in the void.

However, everyone knows that the Suss Battleship, desperately pouring out firepower, is merely making a last-ditch struggle. Its energy bullet light chain, flailing like jellyfish tentacles, is insignificant to the heavily armored Chuckna Warship covered with a blue energy shield.

The two Chuckna warships have already seized an extremely advantageous position. The huge white light strands gathered at their bows are the harbinger of a deadly attack.

Two energy main cannons and five secondary cannons simultaneously hit the Suss Battleship named Xisoba. Its energy shield collapsed instantly, and the energy cannon light clusters carved large holes in its body one after another. Moments later, secondary explosions began at the stern like neon lights, quickly cascading towards the bow. In the blink of an eye, the once mighty Suss Battleship transformed into scattered meteors amidst a blazing white light.

Everyone who had been closely watching the virtual screen jumped up after a moment of silence!

”Beautiful!”

”Well done!”

”Great job!”

The young military officers, full of vigor, shouted wildly and pumped their fists. The loud cheers made the entire command hall boil with excitement.

Sixteen ships! This was the sixteenth Suss Warship destroyed by the Chuckna Fleet!

The completion of this attack was thanks to the Igor Battleship from the G9 Channel and the unexpectedly appearing Brooks Cruiser. These two warships, not part of the same combat group, executed a brilliant cooperation in that airspace, at that moment!

Major General Marshall, in his astonishment, couldn’t help but pump his fist hard!

Despite being somewhat irritated by the orders received, he had to admit that the command of this Leray Major General was simply too perfect. At least, as the Fleet Commander of the 1201 Fleet, he never thought his warships could achieve such a beautiful collaboration. Under the command of this Leray Major General, the overall strength of the 1201 Fleet had increased by more than one level!

”It’s amazing!” Marshall said as he sat down next to Zhang Pengcheng: ”How come I’ve never heard of this Leray Major General Tian before.... I mean, given his level of command, he should have been recognized long ago.....”

”He used to be a mechanic soldier in the Aviation Marine Corps.” Zhang Pengcheng smiled wryly as he pointed to the computer, reading Fatty’s personal intelligence: ”Enlisted in 2058, completed recruit training in ’59, and was assigned in June to the Atlantis Military District, stationed with the Leray Air Marine Corps 5th Armored Division on Lucerne Planet in the Galileo Star System.”

”So......” Zhang Pengcheng glanced sidelong at the dumbfounded Major General Marshall: ”This guy has only been a soldier and fighting for four years in total. He hasn’t been to the military academy. Essentially, he’s an army officer from a mechanic soldier background. It’s normal that you’ve never heard of him. It would be strange if he were famed for his military talent.”

”How is that possible?” Major General Marshall was about to jump up: ”These combat plans......”

”This guy is a freak!” Zhang Pengcheng said: ”Although he never received formal military training, according to the data, during the Miloke Battle between Leray and Gazalin, he saw through Russell’s combat plans and prevented Miloke from falling. Later, he even received personal guidance from Russell for a period. However, it’s true that he has never commanded a warship in combat.”

”Never commanded a warship?” Marshall could hardly believe it: ”But, these command techniques.....”

”Skillful, composed, seamless, flawless, clean actions...” Zhang Pengcheng said all the adjectives Marshall wanted to say: ”...and very sharp. Isn’t it?”

”Yeah! You noticed too...” Marshall exclaimed: ”In terms of command skills, he can definitely rank among the top fifty Space Fleet Commanders. I’ve never seen someone so genius in command. I don’t know how those unbelievable simulations and plans come about, but just from his commanding style, he embodies the word sharp...”

To prove his point, Marshall pulled up several previous battle records on the command console, urgently saying: ”Look at these battles, from start to finish, they’re so clean that there’s no flaw to pick out. The enemy’s position wasn’t at an absolute disadvantage, yet it was his command that cut them down. Several changes in formation hit the enemy’s critical points. This heart-piercing technique—how could it possibly belong to an Army mechanic soldier with no formal military education and no aerial combat command experience?!”

”Major General Tian is responsible for the battle plans and simulations...” Zhang Pengcheng opened the battle plan sent by the bandit army: ”But... the specific battlefield command was not by him!” Zhang Pengcheng pointed to the signature in the lower-left corner of the battle plan under the battle commander section: ”The actual battlefield commander is this Saleria Major General...”

”Fang Xiang?” Marshall looked at the signature, racking his brains to remember if there was anyone named Fang Xiang in the Great Generals Record.

”She is the local fleet commander of the Saleria Longbow Star System...” Zhang Pengcheng opened Fang Xiang’s personal information from the intelligence database for Marshall: ”She is also a student of General Tolstoy, and the most outstanding graduate from the Saleria Military in recent years. Seven years ago, before she graduated, she won third place in the under-24 command competition at the Fei Alliance Military Exchange as the youngest commander. The judges rated her even higher than the top two.”

”...command style is sharp, mature, and completely unlike a 21-year-old, full-of-spirit gentle girl. Her feminine traits are thoroughly overturned by her blade-like commanding style, yet her meticulous tactical execution and the smoothness and resilience of her tactical coordination are vividly displayed.” Zhang Pengcheng read the evaluation of one of the authoritative judges on Fang Xiang: ”...a blend of ice and fire, she is a genius-level commander.”

Stunned for a moment, Marshall came to his senses and asked incredulously, ”How did this Saleria Major General get involved with the Leray people?”

”I don’t know...” Zhang Pengcheng smiled wryly: ”But, I guess it might be after the Longbow Fleet’s defeat, the remnants drifted to Mars Free Channel and met with the Leray people.”

Marshall held his forehead: ”Two freaks, one responsible for planning and simulation, the other for command...”

”No matter the final outcome, putting aside this great favor...” Zhang Pengcheng looked up and stared at the main virtual screen at the front of the hall: ”I absolutely, absolutely, do not want to go against these two at the same time!!”

”General!” The voice of the intelligence liaison officer from below the command console came through the communication channel: ”The Suss Fleet’s Space Fighters have suddenly abandoned their attack on our Battleship group, and now, they are fully returning. The main formation of the Suss Battleship has abandoned fire containment and is now fully retreating towards the S21 airspace at full speed.”

As soon as the intelligence liaison officer finished speaking, the voice of another staff officer responsible for operational coordination rang out: ”Report, the Suss aircraft carrier is releasing Space Fighters at full capacity. Its cruiser and destroyer groups are also approaching the aircraft carrier. Our Space Fighter group has entered the A19 airspace, only one airspace away from S21. Should we continue to execute the combat plan? Requesting instructions.”

”Have they seen through it?” Marshall suddenly became tense.

”Seen through?” Zhang Pengcheng sneered: ”Even if Old Zhang placed the plan in front of them step by step, sweating all over, could they see through it?”

As he spoke, Zhang Pengcheng waved his hand, saying: ”The combat plan remains unchanged. All units must strictly follow the orders!”

”Yes, understood!”

With a slight ”beep,” an inexplicable Marshall turned to see a battle plan appearing on the command computer screen—Plan No. 2 Realtime Battle Strategy.

Large red letters rapidly flashing.

.Returned home at 10, finally managed to code it. Still not used to this update method, felt exhausted. I think, maybe I’ll get used to it if I hold on. Asking for guaranteed monthly tickets. Brothers who have voted for guaranteed monthly tickets, you can keep the second ticket, I have no objection. Those who haven’t voted, don’t hold back. The monthly ticket at the beginning of the month is really important to Modu.
