Counterfeit Hero

”Be careful... No matter the posture, I want a thirty-seventy split of the loot. There’s no reason for me to risk my life here while you take advantage on the side!”

Looking at Zhang Pengcheng’s reply on the screen, Fatty laughed.

On the virtual screen, the Chuckna Fleet, which had deployed its energy shields, had already started to retaliate. Their tactics were fierce, with battleships holding the main line, and high-speed destroyers on the wings recklessly diving into the Suss Fleet. Every destroyer was accompanied by several Chuckna [Lightning Falcon] warplanes in coordinated combat, along with the cruisers on the periphery conducting group penetrating strikes back and forth... These reckless Chuckna people almost tore through the main formation of the Suss Fleet. The initial advantage of the Suss was slowly being clawed back by them.

On the main screen of the [Holy Sword], another group of Suss people had already faintly appeared at the edge of the Smoke Lake Nebula.

”Send the particle simulation signal.”

Fatty heard the voice of Fang Xiang in his ear.

Fang Xiang was the chief commander of this battle, and now she stood quietly on the central command platform.

The modest blue bandit army uniform fitted Fang Xiang well. Her waist was tightly cinched, accentuating her naturally prominent breasts. Her round, beautiful hips were tightly wrapped by a thin and soft skirt, and her legs, like finely carved jade, were long and straight. On her feet were a pair of milky yellow high heels, her ankles exposed, slender and smooth.

Just standing there quietly, this sexy, alluring woman, fresh and vibrant, like a ripe juicy peach, was a sight from which it was hard to tear one’s eyes away.

However, once she stood on the command seat, Fang Xiang exuded another kind of mesmerizing aura. At this moment, she was subtly controlling the whole world, calm, composed, elegant, and wise.

”Signal sent!” Carl, the Coordinator responsible for fleet coordination, loudly reported from the central console: ”Holy Light reports back, Magic Cube reports back, Magic reports back...”

Particle simulation signal, using particle emitters to simulate heavy particles in the universe, is a common method of close-range covert communication between ships.

Decades ago, scientists invented this method using the omnipresent heavy particles in the universe. The particle emitter sends the particle signals in a predetermined arrangement to the receiving ship’s signal receiver, and the computer translates the information based on the arrangement of particles.

It’s like a few grains of fine sand drifting through the desert, conveying information that the enemy ship wouldn’t even notice, let alone capture.

However, because this communication method is short-ranged, easily obstructed, and slow to translate, it is usually used only in special circumstances. It’s most suitable for ambushes because the enemy ships are too close, requiring electronic communication silence, and optical signals are even less feasible. Thus, this communication method becomes the sole bridge between ambush ships.

”....all ships have reported back.”

As Carl’s voice fell, the entire command room suddenly fell silent.

The Suss Transport Fleet was inching closer to the ambush circle.

”Slow down!” As they were about to reach the starting point of the jump channel, Bod in the bridge command room of the Typhoon-class battleship [Victoria] gently exhaled and gave the order.

The speed, measuring thirty kilometers per second, decreased again. The fleet tightened its formation, passing through several dark asteroids.

The three [Sharp Blade]-class destroyers, arranged in a triangular pattern, were the first to break through the clouded nebula.

Next were two [Roar]-class cruisers. Then, encased by cruisers and destroyers on both wings, were the [Typhoon]-class battleship and [Ice Bear]-class giant transport ship.

When the bright starry sky opened up before them, everyone on the Suss Transport Ship relaxed significantly.

Around them, there was nothing!

The empty universe gave them a sense of safety that was unattainable in the obstruction zones. They had trod carefully all along, but now, the transport fleet had completed its task as bait. The path ahead would be wide open.

Watching the giant transport ship outside the porthole, Bod lit a cigar.

In the nebula behind them, the battle was still ongoing. According to Admiral Gershkov’s battle plan, whether it was the Feiyang Fleet or the Chuckna Fleet, even if they weren’t completely wiped out, they would pay a heavy price. Meanwhile, he had successfully played the role of bait. Not only had he lured the Fei Alliance Fleet, but he also ensured the safety of supplies. Notably, the escort fleet had destroyed a Feiyang destroyer, delaying the Feiyang Fleet’s advance by thirty thousand kilometers!

At least, these feats were worth a Suss Royal scepter medal.

Bod exhaled a puff of smoke, his gaze drifting through the gray haze as it unconsciously swept over the command platform. Suddenly, his gaze fixed on a small monitor at the lower left of the command platform.

The smooth line of the energy monitor was climbing sharply, continuously ascending.

”Hit them hard! Burst them!” Fatty regretted why he had so easily ceded command of this battle to Fang Xiang. Standing beside Fang Xiang, he muttered incessantly, ”Kill them, hit them hard! Pierce them until the flowers bloom on their butts, let them understand why the flowers are so red!”

Completely ignoring the Fatty beside her who seemed to be itching all over, Fang Xiang quietly watched the already disordered Suss Transport Fleet on the main screen.

”Who wouldn’t feel a bit panicked upon discovering dozens of strands of white light intertwining in the dark void behind them? Upon realizing each battleship’s bow is slowly appearing with the white light in the void?”

A seductive smile, completely opposite to her serene and elegant demeanor, appeared on Fang Xiang’s mouth. Two battleships, three cruisers, and fourteen armed merchant ships formed a massive circle in the void. Like a funnel, the Suss Transport Fleet was passing through this funnel.

Now, their sterns were under the barrels of nineteen main guns and thirty-eight secondary guns of the bandit army’s nineteen warships!

Fatty stopped his chattering.

He blinked and stared dumbly at Fang Xiang beside him.

Fang Xiang’s smile grew more seductive, and standing on the command seat, she seemed to have completely transformed into another person. She lightly brushed her dark hair and said softly, ”Fire!”

These two words were like a death spell!

The glowing mass of the bandit army fleet, condensed for a long time, broke loose. The violent energy torrent swiftly tore through the void and plunged into the rear of the Suss Fleet. One explosion after another blazed in the universe.

The Suss Transport Fleet, which had slowed down to ten kilometers per second, suffered a nearly catastrophic blow in an instant.

One cruiser and one destroyer were directly destroyed. The energy shields of three cruisers, seven destroyers, and two transport ships had turned deep red.

”Enemy attack!”

The sharp alarm and the observer’s shrill cries suddenly erupted at the moment the ships were hit by the energy cannon.

Rays of white light flashed across the warship windows. The ships disintegrated and rolled in the starry sky outside.

Countless waves of impact shook and tore at the battleships. The massive Typhoon-class Battleship, in this energy storm, was like a small sampan that could be capsized by waves at any moment!

”What’s going on?”

Bod staggeringly grabbed a staff officer’s collar: ”How did the enemy appear, how did they appear?!”

In the midst of Bod’s roar, the unfortunate staff officer’s eyes filled with fear, his mouth agape, shaking his head frantically.

He didn’t know where the attacking enemies came from, not only him, the whole fleet had no idea. Not even the warship’s radar, scanner, or long-range viewer had a clue!

Except for the moment when the enemy started the attack, the screen of the energy detector showed a sudden spike in the energy statistics line. From start to finish, it was an utterly unanticipated surprise attack.

No warning at all... This complete violation of military doctrine was enough to turn the staff officer into a puppet, being shaken back and forth in Bod’s hands...

”Beep...Beep...Beep”

The warship’s central control computer blared an ear-piercing alarm.

”Section 11 at the stern hit....”

”Port side section 5 hit.... Defense reduced by thirty-five percent.”

”Fourth corridor fire sealed...”

The dry, emotionless electronic voice of the computer kept sounding, reporting several different situations, as if several identical-sounding triplets were arguing fiercely.

Suddenly pushing away the staff officer in his grasp, Bod quickly checked the information on the Central Command Platform.

Nineteen, nineteen light dots appeared on the radar! The shaky optical long-range viewer lens showed that among them, there were two battleships, three cruisers, and the rest were armed merchant ships!

How did they appear silently behind us, and how is their firepower so strong?

These questions kept swirling in Bod’s mind. But, no matter how puzzled or curious, he couldn’t afford to dwell on them now.

We absolutely can’t let the enemy continue with a second salvo from behind!

”Evade freely!” Bod grabbed the communicator and slammed the fleet communication button with his fist: ”Transport ships continue forward, prepare for the jump! The escort fleet’s front formation needs to accelerate forward immediately, veer left and right in a chevron shape, don’t stop, don’t turn back, just charge forward. Change direction freely, scatter the enemy’s salvo angles....”

”Boom!” Another violent explosion, the Victoria trembled violently.

A cruiser only close to the Victoria attempted to turn back in panic and was destroyed by dense artillery fire. The ship’s detonation caused its stern to collide fiercely with the Victoria’s starboard side.

”Don’t turn back! Speed up....” Bod shouted hoarsely.

”It’s too late...” Fang Xiang stared unblinkingly at the tactical computer, her white fingers gently hooking on the virtual screen.

As if sensing her finger’s movement, two cruisers and eight armed merchant ships, which had been hidden in front of the Suss Fleet, emerged from the void...

Simultaneously, the nineteen bandit army warships that completed their first salvo had sped up and crashed into the scattered formation of the Suss Transport Fleet!

Fatty looked at the computer, his face twitching with flesh.

Everything was exactly as timed on Fang Xiang’s tactical computer!
