Counterfeit Hero

Almost at the same time when the Brooks turned to enter the E17 channel, the cruiser Soarer, which had been blocked by the Suss Fleet behind and was out of sight, along with the two destroyers that had been following, converged from two other directions simultaneously to the side of the Brooks. It was as if they had been prepared all along.

Looking at the Soarer outside the porthole, Andre could no longer hold back.

”I say....” Andre scratched his head: ”Is there anyone’s command system instruction that is specific to course and speed?”

The bustling area channel suddenly quieted down.

”It’s me!” Ship captain Yakov of the Soarer was the first to speak.

”Me too...” Ship captain Shao’er of the Iliad sounded somewhat surprised

”Damn it, I thought I was the only one!” This was the voice of Beck, the cruiser Beowulf’s captain.

”Me too! Are all of you......”

”God.”

After a burst of disbelief and a boiling sound, the entire commander coordination area channel suddenly became silent.

All commanders were stunned by the facts before them.

They were not the only ones receiving detailed guidance. This kind of guidance, unrelated to their ability and level of trust, was pervasive!

While they felt relieved, they were also shocked—how did that Major General of Leray manage to pull this off?!

No wonder all the warships could clearly find their positions amidst this complex battle scenario, coordinating with one another seamlessly, appearing where they needed to be in good time!

The oldest ”The Art of War by Sun Tzu” points out the most fundamental condition for victory in war—victory goes to those who are more prepared!

This preparation is both strategizing and calculating. It involves grand strategic intelligence as well as specific tactical command execution. From the situation, logistics, timing, troop allocation to combat power evaluation... there is virtually nothing that doesn’t require calculation.

To become a ship’s captain, every Chuckna officer in the communication channel is a top student with a solid theoretical military foundation. PuDa courses in projection and calculation, years ago, or even ten or twenty years ago, have been thoroughly memorized by them. The number of cases studied is countless.

In these cases, there is often one army, despite having all the advantages of time, location, and human resources, because of the other side’s continual accumulation of small victories in local battles, thereby affecting the larger scenario and eventually leading to failure. Instructors often helplessly attribute such examples to the fog of war.

After all, no one knows which soldier’s bullet will hit the opposing commander, nor which field’s loss will lead to the collapse of the overall situation.

Thus, controlling details in command and mastering local battles spread across the battlefield to a certain extent has become an undeniable key to determining the outcome of a campaign. If possible, any commander would like to break down commands onto every soldier’s head, even incorporating their running direction, stride speed, and personal combat power into the calculation and control! However, this idea is clearly an unattainable fantasy.

The captains present all know how complex a space battle is. Without saying anything else, the movement areas and various natural environments affecting space battles are a hundred times more complex than ground battles!

Especially in the fleet entanglement battles, where maneuvers are constantly changing and turning, engaging in skirmishes—every captain needs to be alert to the utmost degree!

If the area coordination channel is clear, captains usually loudly communicate in the channel for timely coordination. If communications are disrupted, then they can only rely on their judgment and mutual tacit understanding.

No commander has ever tried to stand from a global perspective to specifically command such a battle. Predetermined routes, speed, and coordinating tactics are seeking fish by climbing a tree and scratching the sword’s mark off the sinking boat. Very likely, as the battle starts, ships beyond control abandon planned operations.

Therefore, evidently, the instructions signed SM.King uploaded by each ship’s command system are not predetermined plans. They can only be guidance schemes obtained by real-time projection!

However, it’s easier said than done to incorporate all these warships into combat control, let alone conceive new operational ideas from changes and formulate specific local tactics. The projection capabilities needed for this are simply unimaginable!

The ”beep” of electronic prompt sounds simultaneously awakened the stunned captains.

Everyone immediately clicked open the flashing second real-time operational scheme on the command computer.

After reading the plan, Andre took a deep breath and pressed the communication button: ”Lads, I suddenly have a premonition, perhaps this time, we might just make it back alive.”

In the starry sky, more than a hundred warships from two fleets sped fiercely in a ten-thousand-kilometer diameter area, engaged in deadly combat.

Those who haven’t personally seen it could hardly imagine this brutal scene. A battleship equipped with standard crew complement of a thousand six hundred, a cruiser with a thousand, and a destroyer with six hundred people, intermittently burst and disintegrated in the energy cannon light net. A few could still eject into space using escape pods, while most of the others can only roll aimlessly into the boundless universe with the wreckage of the ships.
