Counterfeit Hero

From the first salvo of the enemy fleet’s ambush, to the fleet’s full-scale advance crashing into our formation, to mastering the timing of the second wave’s ambush launch, and then to maneuvering during the ensuing slaughter, fire suppression positioning, and breakthrough routes... It seemed as if every move and shot of each warship transformed into strands of melody, tightly adhered to the baton of the opposing Commander.

No matter how our fleet’s formations and tactics changed, these strands of demonic music remained tightly intertwined in this vast Star Domain, seamlessly connecting and flowing like water.

Feiyang Republic... Chuckna Republic... Whose fleet is this in front of us?! Who is their Commander?!

Bod’s mind went completely blank.

This fleet appeared like a Ghost, yet bore rhino-like ramming beaks! Their Commander was sharp and seasoned in strategy, and from start to finish, they firmly grasped the advantage of the surprise attack, pressing hard against the Transport Fleet!

Bod anxiously searched the command computer for the opponent’s weaknesses... None! The opponent had already completely entangled within the Suss Fleet. Their positions and coordination had fully exploited their firepower advantage. All of the Suss warships were taking hits passively! All were fleeing in chaos!

The flanks could no longer be deployed; under the enemy fleet’s fire suppression, the Sheep Horn Rotation was just empty talk. The Central Group couldn’t break through either. The opposing warships directly ahead kept compressing the Transport Ships’ maneuverability range, pushing the entire Suss Fleet into the center!

Suddenly, a white light penetrated dozens of portholes in the warship’s control room, illuminating the entire control room with a dazzling brightness.

Bod instinctively shielded his face with his arm and closed his eyes. Before his eyes was pitch black. Upon reopening them, his retinas were filled with red and green shadows.

It was the martyrdom explosion of the [Uranus] cruiser wreckage!

Bod collapsed into his chair!

From a victory worth celebrating to a defeat that would end his life, the rapid transition was something he couldn’t accept! The oppressive style of the opponent’s Commander only added to his helplessness.

”Have we contacted Fleet A1?”

Amidst the panic and clamor, Bod hoarsely questioned the communications officer. Despite the distance, and knowing the chances for rescue were thin, this was the last straw he could grasp!

”Magic Blade, Fierce Bandits Second Team, Third Team, converge at coordinates 521022.43229.399432.5, open all engine thrusters, prepare for an arcuate progression, breakthrough route has been sent to you, ignore everything else, fire left and right on the way, aim for their thrusters! Holy Light, converge with Magic Cube, suppress the turning enemy ships in battle area number two, don’t let them scatter!”

Fully immersed in battle, Fang Xiang simultaneously glanced at the SkyNet Information on the command platform, swiftly operated the tactical computer, and issued one command after another.

”Magic, Scorpion, quickly support the first combat zone! Target that [Typhoon]-class Battleship, engage in close-quarters combat, prevent it from picking up speed!...”

”Bandit No.6, Nine, Ten. From the edge of combat area three, move at an oblique angle towards position S20, use port-side firepower to knock out those two Destroyers’ rear thrusters. Magic is up ahead creating an angle for you...”

Fang Xiang’s commands were clear and precise. Her words were simple and plain. As if directing a chef in the kitchen.

Yet these straightforward commands wove a fierce and glamorous dance of attack and defense at extreme speed in the starry sky! With her crisp voice and enchanting smile, she had the Suss Transport Fleet pinned down!

”The Suss Transport Fleet is finished!” Fatty shifted his gaze away from Fang Xiang.

The six Transport Ships of the Suss Fleet had already been tightly clustered under the encirclement of Armed Merchant Ships.

Of the five Suss Cruisers and twelve Destroyers, six had been destroyed, out of the remaining eleven warships, two Cruisers and two Destroyers had lost their rear thrusters, leaving them to drift slowly in the starry sky; the other seven, though still resisting stubbornly, had been cut off and would be destroyed or captured eventually.

And that [Typhoon]-class Battleship had clearly caught Fang Xiang’s eye; now all her tactics revolved around how to knock out the Battleship’s propulsion system.

As for the bandit army’s losses, aside from light damage to five Armed Merchant Ships and a Cruiser, there were none at all.

In just over ten minutes of combat, Fatty had learned a lot from Fang Xiang. These were the foundational skills of a commander graduating from a Military Academy. Yet Fatty, in contrast, had never systematically learned them.

As a Commander, every decision must be based on the corresponding intelligence processing and situational judgment!

In large-scale battles, hundreds of staff provide assistance, with commanders at all levels conducting tiered command, making it comparatively easier for the highest Commander. The true challenge lies in these head-to-head small-scale engagements! In the time-sensitive rapid transitions between attack and defense, staff can only provide intelligence. All judgments and decisions come from the Commander’s mind, made in an instant!

When the intelligence and simulation conditions under control are not superior to, or even less than the opponent’s, how to make judgments, how to allocate forces, how to connect tactical maneuvers... These are resolved through command techniques honed by repeated practice and are the kinds of skills that ordinary Commanders need years of study in a Military Academy to cultivate.
