Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 41: Chapter 39: Westminster Major Incident

In front of Westminster Cathedral, Hart also returned to his own team.

In this team composed entirely of Holy Knights, an old Holy Knight with hair seemingly turned white patted Hart on the shoulder and said.

”What, playing the good guy again?”

”Captain, I tested him, that dumb-looking rookie, doesn’t even know about the Undead Mage Guild.

He’s not a cultist attracted by the mysteriousness.”

”Alright then, as long as he doesn’t approach Westminster Cathedral, just keep an eye on him, after these days of re-deployment things will be less tense.”

”Hmm, I know, I’ll arrange for that little guy to be taken out first.”

While saying this, Hart summoned a boy dressed as a priest in front of his captain.

”Here’s my token, I can’t leave right now, go to the library’s archive and fetch the ’1742 Round Table Knight Holy Relics Relocation Record’ for me.”

”Oh, okay!” The young priest took the token and quickly ran into Westminster Cathedral.

Meanwhile, in an alley near the main square, Gu Xi also noticed something unusual.

Knowing he would have to wait a long time, Gu Xi simply found a place to sit and planned to have a drink.

But for some reason, just as he ordered a glass of wheat juice, Gu Xi was targeted.

Two men who happened to pass by him suddenly accelerated, one before and one behind, collided into Gu Xi, knocking him against the tavern’s wall.

Gu Xi was just about to ask what was going on when the two men skillfully grabbed his arms, with one reaching to pinch Gu Xi’s nose.

Their movements were very fast, and using their bodies, they blocked the view from others, so no one noticed what was happening here.

However, while they were fast, Gu Xi reacted even faster. As they restrained his arms, bone spikes a foot long ejected from Gu Xi’s fingertips.

Since the two were close, the bone spikes instantly pierced through their necks.

This was essentially Gu Xi’s reflex action.

He didn’t care what environment he was in, if someone attacked him, he would definitely retaliate lethally.

”Cultists?”

Looking at the message that popped up, Gu Xi couldn’t help but exclaim.

He never expected that with just one leap, everyone nearby, who was eating and drinking, jumped in alarm.

Some people pulled out weapons, shouting: ”What cultist, where is the cultist?”

Others silently drew weapons and charged towards Westminster Cathedral.

When they moved, Gu Xi could also see it clearly.

Today there’s trouble at Westminster Cathedral.

This should be the Knight Bous re-interment Hart mentioned.

It seems the cultists plan to steal something from within Westminster Cathedral, it’s just that Gu Xi found it strange, why these cultists would actively attack him.

Actually, Gu Xi couldn’t figure out many things because he knew too little.

At Westminster Cathedral, a re-interment was happening, but not for the reason Hart mentioned, of too many bodies of the same level.

Instead, there’s another reason, as one of the more famous cathedrals in Britain, many famous Britons are buried here.

Also buried here are some Holy Relics or remains of strong individuals.

They buried these not to prevent Undead Mages from stealing the bodies of these strong individuals to make into powerful Undead.

But to borrow the power left behind by these strong individuals to suppress some mysterious or uncontrollable deceitful objects.

Recently, Westminster Cathedral was acting strangely, because a deceitful object they were suppressing suddenly increased in level and changed its attributes for unknown reasons.

The original suppression plan for this deceitful object became ineffective, so Westminster Cathedral had to temporarily replace several relics and remains originally belonging to Holy Knights or stronger knights with those of the Magic System or stronger individuals.

To adapt to the changes of this deceitful object.

However, Westminster Cathedral’s defense forces received information that this deceitful object was exactly what a cult hidden in Victoria City wanted to obtain.

They planned to take advantage of Westminster Cathedral’s redeployment to attack and steal this deceitful object, which was akin to a divine artifact for them.

They had been lurking outside Westminster Cathedral, looking for a suitable opportunity.

And the defense forces of Westminster Cathedral were aware of this but could not determine who the cultists were, so they had to place personnel near the main square to watch the passing tourists.

Otherwise, how would Gu Xi have been noticed by a Holy Knight so quickly.

Gu Xi being attacked by the cultists was entirely accidental.

Gu Xi was brought to the edge of the square by Hart, hence he was noticed by many, and among the cultists who ambushed Gu Xi, one recognized him.

Because Gu Xi was a living sacrifice imprisoned in the cultists’ underground dungeon.

On Gu Xi’s body was left the unique mark of the cultists.

Now that Gu Xi had openly appeared here.

The cultists naturally couldn’t tolerate it, they wanted to secretly take Gu Xi away, at least to ask how he escaped.

In the end, these two cultists overestimated their own strength.

Just as they grabbed Gu Xi’s arm, they were killed by him on the spot.

And the system’s notification alarmed the nearby lurking cultists, who thought their ambush had been discovered, so they immediately revealed themselves.

Thus, the previously quiet and peaceful alley instantly turned chaotic.

Seeing this situation, Gu Xi immediately tossed out the two corpses.

A few cultists charging towards Gu Xi were pushed back by these bodies, at the same time, Gu Xi pointed at one of the corpses.

”Secondary Bone Shield!”

[You successfully used Secondary Bone Shield, gaining 1 point of Secondary Bone Shield experience.]

As Gu Xi cast the spell, one body exploded on the spot, and a grayish-white bone shield appeared beside Gu Xi.

Then Gu Xi extended both hands, pulling out a Bone-breaking Wooden Rod and a Mysterious Skull, he leaned against the wall, eyeing everyone in front of him cautiously.

Gu Xi was not so sure now who among these people were good or evil.

He had only one thought, to save his own life and not get involved in the present situation.
