After sleeping for over an hour again, the first thing Gu Xi did upon waking up was to check the surroundings.

Those who had escaped from the cell were all huddled together, glaring sullenly at the skeleton in front of them, yet not daring to move an inch.

Even though this skeleton’s bones were somewhat finer than theirs, and it was impossible for just one skeleton to watch all of them, they dared not make a single move.

Gu Xi was contemptuous of their reaction.

If they dared to make a move when Gu Xi slept for a second time, he would still admire their courage.

Now they were just a group of ordinary people, yearning for benefits yet too cowardly to act.

Gu Xi shook his head and stood up.

”Alright, I don’t know what you’re pretending for over there, get up. If I wanted to deal with you, you’d already be skeletons.”

Only then did the group carefully look towards Gu Xi.

As soon as they looked up, they saw Luna behind Gu Xi glaring at them with hollow eyes.

The coldness in those eyes frightened them into shrinking back immediately.

Gu Xi rolled his eyes at them and said to Jack, ”Where’s the map?”

Jack still wanted to struggle one last time, ”Master Mage, we need to...”

”Stop, I know you have your plans, but I also have my considerations. Either you lead the way now, or I’ll turn you into a skeleton, and the skeleton will lead the way.”

Hearing this, Jack instantly shut his mouth and obediently began to lead the way.

The few people in the room exchanged glances, saw the unwillingness in each other’s eyes, hesitated for a moment, but ultimately followed obediently.

Following behind Jack, Gu Xi and the others quickly arrived at the location where they initially entered the secret passage.

Before they could open the mechanism leading to the external corridor, they heard a knocking sound from outside.

Gu Xi gestured with his hand, and Luna phased through the wall, reaching the ceiling of the corridor.

In the corridor outside, about thirty black robe cultists were tapping the walls with tools, seemingly searching for undiscovered secret passages.

Behind these cultists, a leader-like cultist was speaking loudly.

”Be serious here, search every inch of these walls meticulously.

I don’t care what methods you use, find all the sacrificed escapes for me.

Otherwise, when it’s time for the sacrifice, you can strip and walk up to the altar yourselves.”

Luna glanced at them and then headed towards the underground space in the distance.

The traces left from Gu Xi’s battle with the black robe cultists had not been cleared.

Although the surviving cultists had stood back in front of the abandoned gate, their numbers had clearly decreased significantly.

At the same time, from other entrances of the underground space, black robe cultists were dragging newcomers over one after another, setting them at the gate, seemingly to replenish the numbers in front of the abandoned gate.

While Luna was out, Gu Xi wasn’t idle either; he handed the curved saber to the skeleton beside him, meticulously honing the dagger in his hand.

Each time he sharpened it, he’d glance at Jack, frightening Jack considerably.

At this moment, Luna phased back through the wall, her hollow eyes sweeping over Jack, who almost screamed.

Gu Xi quickly stepped forward to cover Jack’s mouth, ”They’re searching for us outside, do you want to die?”

Seeing Jack calm down, Gu Xi turned to Luna.

”What’s the situation outside?”

”Just over thirty people in the corridor, not strong!”

”Then let’s go with the usual scheme.”

Gu Xi waved the dagger in his hand and forcefully triggered the mechanism of the secret passage door.

A black robe cultist who was tapping the wall hadn’t reacted yet when a dagger plunged right into his skull.

[Killed Cultist (Level 1), gained 12 experience points.]

Then the skeleton charged forward, the curved saber in its hand slashing at another nearby cultist.

All the black robe cultists tapping the wall were stunned, they didn’t expect Gu Xi to attack upon appearing, momentarily unable to react, allowing the skeleton to kill one of them.

[Skeleton (Summoned Creature) killed Cultist (Level 1), you gained 1 experience point, the summoned creature gained 6 experience points.]

Only then did the enemies react, and the leader shouted, ”Shield bearers, surround them, beware of corpse burst...”

Gu Xi had long known the position of the cult leader from Luna’s description; while the skeleton was killing, Gu Xi had already rushed forward seven eight paces.

Seeing the distance was about right, Gu Xi threw his hand, sending three daggers flying at the cult leader.

The cult leader hadn’t anticipated Gu Xi would prioritize attacking him in such a situation; he hadn’t even considered his own defenses until the white flash appeared before him, and he finally reacted.

The cult leader attempted to dodge backward in haste, but it was too late.

Gu Xi had prepared those three flying knives for this moment.

The first knife activated the leader’s innate defense item as it arrived.

The second knife lured the leader into dodging in a certain direction; the third was the key.

As the leader dodged, the flying knife had already positioned itself, embedding into the cult leader’s neck.

[Killed Cult Boss (Level 2, Elite), gained 42 experience points.]

[You completed a triple throw and successfully killed an enemy, gaining 40 throwing experience points.]

With the cult boss dead, all the black robe cultists panicked, rushing towards the cult boss to see what had happened.

Seeing them gather together, Gu Xi wanted to use Corpse Burst on them, but hesitated at the last moment, changing the spell from Corpse Burst to Soul Summoning Skill.

In the next instant, the cult boss’s body exploded on the spot, and amidst the splattering blood, a stronger skeleton arose.

Removing the dagger from its neck, the skeleton quickly reversed its hand, stabbing it into an approaching cultist’s head.

[You successfully used Soul Summoning Skill, obtaining a Skeleton Boss (Level 0), Soul Summoning Skill gained 1 experience point.]
