Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 19: Chapter 17: The First Wave of Attacks Ends

Swish swish swish!

The black Deceitful Shadow Boss jabbed three times with the long spear in his hand, precisely hitting the three skeletons in front.

Under the attack of his long spear, the bodies of these three skeletons were shattered on the spot.

”Surround it.”

Seeing the situation, Gu Xi decisively commanded.

He knew very well that if this Deceitful Shadow Boss wasn’t dealt with first, the battle behind wouldn’t be easy to fight.

So he ordered his subordinates to take action while throwing two daggers at the Deceitful Shadow Boss.

The Deceitful Shadow Boss, although stronger than the deceitful shadow, had a similar fighting style, not dodging attacks and taking them directly with his body.

The two daggers successfully pierced into the Deceitful Shadow Boss’s body, interrupting his next attack.

At this time, the skeletons of Combat Squad 4 quickly moved forward, using their shields to block the movement of the Deceitful Shadow Boss.

Then the skeletons of Combat Squad 2 also rushed out, holding their two-handed longswords horizontally, and thrust them hard into the Deceitful Shadow Boss.

But the level of the Deceitful Shadow Boss already exceeded the normal level of a deceitful shadow.

The skeletons’ attacks were mostly 1 or 2 points, landing on the Deceitful Shadow Boss without causing much harm.

Instead, it gave the Deceitful Shadow Boss a good opportunity to attack. He split his hands, and the arms forming the long spear automatically separated, turning into long sword-like arms. Holding the sword in both hands, he spun and slashed at the incoming skeletons.

The three skeletons holding back the Deceitful Shadow Boss were killed on the spot.

At this moment, Gu Xi shouted loudly.

”Raise shields!”

The skeletons blocking the Deceitful Shadow Boss quickly raised their shields upon hearing this and crouched down.

Then Gu Xi pointed at the slain skeleton.

”Secondary Corpse Burst!”

A skeleton corpse that was falling exploded immediately on the spot.

Because this skeleton initially blocked the Deceitful Shadow Boss, as it fell, it collided with the Deceitful Shadow Boss.

When the corpse burst arrived, the Deceitful Shadow Boss was directly affected by the full effect of the explosion.

Boom!

The body of the Deceitful Shadow Boss was blasted away on the spot.

”Go!”

Gu Xi decisively commanded.

The skeletons of Combat Squad 2 quickly advanced, raising their longswords and slashing at the Deceitful Shadow Boss.

Unlike the other skeletons, they focused everything on their swords, with the attack power of their two-handed longswords stronger than the long spears of Combat Squad 3.

This time, they decisively attacked, raising their two-handed longswords and attacking the Deceitful Shadow Boss with a flurry of sword strikes.

The Deceitful Shadow Boss, already severely injured, couldn’t dodge even if he wanted to, and his last stubborn move was to roll on the ground.

When Combat Squad 2 raised their longswords a second time, Gu Xi heard a prompt.

[Skeletons (Summoned Creatures) encircle and kill Deceitful Shadow Boss (Level 3, Elite), you gain 1+63 experience points (damage experience reward), and each Combat Squad receives 1 experience point, each summoned creature receives 5 experience points.]

”It’s been killed.”

Seeing the prompt in front of him, Gu Xi finally breathed a sigh of relief. Then Gu Xi discovered that besides the large amount of Deceitful Energy Pearls left at the spot where the Deceitful Shadow Boss died, there was also the long spear composed of many arms.

Is this an equipment drop?

Gu Xi didn’t care about anything else and quickly pointed forward.

”Kill all the deceitful shadows.”

At the same time, he himself charged into the battlefield, ready to check out the situation with the long spear.

Although he wasn’t good at using a long spear, this type of long spear was definitely an equipment with attributes, which was better for enhancing his attributes than his ineffective curved saber.

Meanwhile, the battle between the deceitful shadows and the skeletons had reached a fiercely intense level.

These deceitful shadows weren’t affected by morale, and even if their boss was dead, they had no intention of retreating.

Instead, because Gu Xi had deployed all the skeletons, the battle in front turned into a chaotic melee.

In the chaos, Gu Xi also ran to the side of the long spear and picked up this nearly three-meter-long spear.

[Ding! You have obtained the Hundred-Blade Deceit Arm (Green).]

[Hundred-Blade Deceit Arm (Green, Long Spear)]

[Attack: 2-3]

[Equipment Requirements: Power 2]

[Special: Resentment Lock, when using the long spear to parry, there’s a 50% chance to catch the enemy’s weapon, causing the enemy to drop their weapon.]

[Description: In some people’s eyes, the arm is the sharpest battle blade.]

After glancing at the attributes of the [Hundred-Blade Deceit Arm], Gu Xi lost interest in it. It didn’t increase attributes much, only enhancing some attack power and adding a skill.

His spear technique wasn’t good, and with the long spear, he would only be able to perform straight thrusts.

Keeping the [Hundred-Blade Deceit Arm] would be a complete waste in his hands.

Knowing the attributes, Gu Xi didn’t think twice and casually tossed the [Hundred-Blade Deceit Arm] to the Skeleton Boss of Combat Squad 3.

This Skeleton Boss grabbed the [Hundred-Blade Deceit Arm], and the spear quickly transformed.

The original [Hundred-Blade Deceit Arm] was a long spear nearly three meters long made up of arms.

Now it transformed into a long spear composed of arm bones, especially the spear tip, completely pieced together by finger bones.

At the same time, all the spears held by the skeletons of Combat Squad 3 underwent similar changes, turning into two and a half meter long spears, with the spear tips shrinking into cone-shaped hand bones.

Apparently, when the Skeleton Boss was influenced by the equipment, the ordinary skeletons in the Combat Squad were also affected.

After equipping the new weapon, Combat Squad 3 quickly moved forward and launched an attack on the deceitful shadows.

Unlike their previous uniform attack patterns.

This time, the attacks were such that the skeletons of Combat Squad 3 fought independently.

After all, they couldn’t launch a squad attack now, as that would definitely cause accidental injuries to other skeletons in the melee.

Now, the skeletons of Combat Squad 3 could only cooperate in groups of two or three to launch attacks on individual enemies.

At this point, it must be said that the new weapons had a significant impact, greatly enhancing the attack power of Combat Squad 3’s skeletons.

With their involvement, the remaining deceitful shadows were soon killed.

When the last deceitful shadow was killed, a ding sounded in Gu Xi’s ear again.

[Ding! Temporary Mission: The progress of the Dead City has changed, having slain the first wave of enemies. The second wave of enemies will arrive in 15 minutes. Please prepare for combat.]

Looking at the information that popped up in front of him, Gu Xi immediately began issuing orders.

”Everyone move, clear the battlefield, I don’t want any of these Deceitful Energy Pearls, strengthen all the skeletons, tear down buildings, and build roadblocks, combat squads replenish manpower, we don’t have much time!”
