I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1655 22.41 Third Red Star - Madam Ye?!

The gruesome video made some viewers watch from their homes, offices, and headquarters and had puke on the spot after watching such a clear video. It was such a traumatizing video. However, neither the military nor the royal clan chose to stop it. This is news that everybody needs to be aware of. Itʼs just a small starter for everyone, telling them that peace with the sea clan is completely over. The military had issued a press conference with General Ye taking the stage.

During the press conference...

The live broadcasting of this press conference was done for the whole federation. There are some Protestants saying that the military had failed their job in protecting their nationʼs people. The start of this protest was done by some relatives of those who lost their loved ones from the tsunami. They believed that their relatives and family members were left to die under the tsunami as the military failed to do their job in protecting the civilians.

At the main cityʼs open area, some civilians had gathered in the main hologram showing the press conference of the military. When the general finally climbed on the stage, those who had gathered started shouting, and the media was streaming this scene live.

”The General and the Military failed to protect the citizens of the federation!”

”Step down from the position!”

”You arenʼt worthy of leading the federation!”

”Let the noble clans take over!”

”Step down! Unworthy!”

”You cannot protect the federation!”

”It wasnʼt the tsunami that killed our people; it was you who failed to kill them.”

This scene of protest was reported as flash news to the general having a press conference. On the stage, General Ye was calm and expressionless as he explained the reason why there are still civilians living at the seashore when he and his troops went there to investigate what was happening in the sea. On stage, General Ye stood before all the reporters that came over for this press conference.

General Ye said, ”You may now ask your questions.”

The flashing of cameras all around the stage was bright, and almost all the reporters had all raised their hands after the general had spoken. The one beside him, Colonel Lou Wuye, was the one who was choosing which reporter was entitled to ask the first question. He had casually chosen a reporter among the crowd before the stage.

The chosen reporter had stood up and spoke in the microphone he had with him. ”Lord General, my question is something almost everyone in the open area of this city wanted to ask. Have you truly failed your duties as the protector of the federation and allowed our people who live at the seaside area to die?”

The general responded as he moved his hand, allowing the screen behind him to play some videos of contract signing and how the signers agreed to this agreement without any form of force or plots.

”Are you talking about those who died during the tsunami last night? I have done what I can do and evacuated those who wanted to leave and those who didnʼt want to leave. Those who never wanted to leave were tasked to sign a life and death contract that says that the military will no longer get involved in someone elseʼs life after the contract has been signed.”

”You can watch for yourself the choice our former citizens had made. Just to keep their land and house as well as the land near them as their own, they refuse to evacuate the seashore line. Once they had signed the contract, the military no longer had any responsibilities towards them, and their deaths had nothing to do with the military.”

”Did I fail to protect them? No, they no longer wanted my protection. Not even the protection of the military. When they choose not to leave after I have issued an evacuation order and after they have signed that life and death agreement, they no longer have anything to do with us.”

The response of the general and the proof shown before their eyes are undeniable. To say that the military watched those people die isnʼt correct either. It was because they didnʼt want to leave that they ended up dying. On the other hand, the general had to save those who were willing to leave the area and protect them, even providing them houses in the main city. The general didnʼt fail his job; he had done well and saved as much as he could within the three days before the tsunami fell over.

Those who stayed didnʼt believe the warnings from the general and ended up in such a way. That wasnʼt his fault, but that is the result that he had no control over. The lives that didnʼt want to leave had nothing to do with him anymore, the moment they signed the life and death contract.

General Ye said, ”Second question.”

Another reporter was chosen and stood up as he asked, ”My question had something to do with the military as well. Did you know that there was a tsunami coming?”

”Yes. Because someone had informed me about it,” said the general.

The reporter asked, ”Can we ask who told you about it?”

”Of course, and I am sure there are a lot of people here who can relate to my experience,” said the general as he gestured with his hand, and the colonel placed a small yet luxurious fish bowl aquarium on the podium before the general.

Everyone was confused at first, but those who had little mermaids at home or with them finally realized who the general was talking about. They can only watch as the generalʼs cold expression turns mellow as he lowers his head and looks at his chest pocket.

The general said, ”Baby, come out for a minute. Are you awake?”

A cool yet small, lazy voice responded, {Iʼm awake. Yawns~}

Everyone watched as a pair of small hands stretched from the generalʼs breast pocket. The size of these pairs of hands is too small, but this is something everyone has seen before. Under everyoneʼs naked eye, a white... a silver-tailed little mermaid jumped out of the generalʼs breast pocket and fell into the fish bowl. Itʼs a little mermaid with the rare color of snow. This little one is too pretty and simply gorgeous. When the little mermaidʼs ethereal face looked at the people before him, it was calm and looked extremely intelligent.

This little mermaid is unlike all others. It doesnʼt emit an aura of childishness and naivety. Instead, he looks so composed and majestic. An undeniable flash of intelligence can be seen from those argent iris. What made it terrifying was that this little mermaid had a strong presence that would not lose to the general standing behind him. Instead, their auras complement instead of clashing.

The moment the silver-tailed mermaid appeared, almost all the little mermaids within the vicinity and behind the screens had all saluted towards the gorgeous little mermaid on the podium. A collective greeting came from all these mermaids.

{We greet the King of Mermaids!}

All humans in the area were stunned. They didnʼt expect that the mermaid of the general was the mermaid king himself. Itʼs no wonder the general knew about the tsunami and when it would strike. The king of the mermaids had informed him ahead of time.

{Stand down, my brethren!} said Hei Anjing as the mermaids all returned to normal.

{Humans, let me properly introduce myself. I am the king of the little mermaids, and you can call me Hei. I am also the little mermaid of General Ye Xiajie. Itʼs a pleasure to meet you all.}

The flashes of the camera lights had intensified as the appearance of the Mermaid King was revealed. They had even forgotten that almost all the little mermaids within the vicinity had spoken in human language just to greet their king, and all humans understood their words. The gorgeous little mermaid with silver fishtail and irises was indeed the Mermaid King the human had only seen online before. Though those who were watching from their homes can only see the Mermaid King on screen, those who were at the press conference saw him in flesh, and they were all dumbfounded.

The reporters and cameraman had fallen into chaos in disbelief. They couldnʼt believe that the mysterious Mermaid King would suddenly appear at this press conference and that his connection with the military was because of the demon general.

”The Mermaid King is the little mermaid of the General?!”

”How is this possible?!”

”They know each other!”

”Was it the Mermaid King who gave the general a warning for the tsunami?”

The playful expression of the Mermaid King as he leaned at the towel-covered edge of the fish bowl was seen by everyone. He was so pretty that they couldnʼt help but stare at him a bit longer, especially when he smiled that mischievously.

The general ignored the crowd and took a small towel and helped his wife dry his hair and clip it up. ”Baby, if that fish bowl is too small, I can change it for you.”

{Hm? Donʼt worry, my love. I can stay in it temporarily. Itʼs big enough for me to move around,} said the Mermaid King, Hei Anjing.

The crowd was once again shocked when they heard the conversation between the mermaid king and the demon general. They exclaimed collectively that they look so unified. However, those who are smart immediately realized the real relationship between these two, and it was because of that that everyone was shocked silly on the spot.

”Baby?! My Love!?”

”Is the Mermaid King, our mysterious Madam Ye!?”
