I Love Destroying Worlds' Plot

Chapter 1639 - 22.26 Third Red Star - Death of the King

Force submission by his clan, his mother’s commands to steal the throne. These eyes look at him with pity and disdain for coveting something that wasn’t supposed to be him and the hatred of his brother, who had enough of him, causing their brotherly relationship to ease existing.

Only after losing his emotions and no longer fearing his mother and clan did Second Prince Rion realize how much his mother tried to control him. His elder brother used to pamper him at that time, but he was still living in the main palace with his elder brother and his royal father, as well as his elder sister.

There is a law in the royal clan that states, ’All heirs under the age of 10 must live in the main palace with the king. The queens are only able to visit them once a year, and this is to adjust the mindset of the heirs to fit someone vying for the throne.

In reality, this is just a recently added rule of the king. This is to give time to his children to foster good relationships and lessen conflict as they get older. At the very least, in the first ten years of the second prince Rion’s life, he had the love of his father, doting from his elder brother, and his care from his elder sister.

Those days were broken after he reached the age of ten when his mother took him away from the palace and left him in her clan, the Siegfred Clan. It was at that moment that he suffered a lot of disdain, hate, and contempt. Every time he wanted to look for his elder brother, his grandfather would strike him with a jade ruler, his mother would pinch him, and his uncles would look down on him.

Due to this, he grew up with a distorted mind. He can only hate his once-beloved elder brother and become a tyrant who hurts others to protect himself. By the time he becomes an adult, everything is too late. He can no longer return to the past when there isn’t a conflict between brothers and siblings.

There is actually that last assassination attempt from him that the original crown prince Rion had died. The only reason the crown prince died was because the assassin told him everything about what happened to his younger brother in his maternal clan. The torture and abuse since he was young and with no protection from anyone, including his royal father.

It seems at that time, the king had already made a choice. To choose Nokto as the only son he will protect with all his power. It’s not that he didn’t love his other children. But compared a natural-born son to the other two children born through artificial means as a way to fulfill his contract with the Siegfred Clan. The king chose his oldest son.

Now that he completely lost his attachment to his emotions, everything in his eyes was processed without anything affecting it except for rational thinking. It was at this point that he realized how ridiculous his mother and the Siegfred Clan’s actions were.

They dare to covet the authority of the royal clan after failing to get authorization from the military despite their success with artificial little mermaids. The reason they were wealthy but had no power as a clan was because of the military itself.

They gave them wealth to gain a way to save people through the little mermaids they created. However, the origin of this artificial creation being stolen from the sea itself cancels out all their advantages. Adding the fact that their clan is infamous for their greedy nature in a bad way that the military never gave them any power in the federation like the royal clan.

The words of the second prince made the second queen unable to look at him. She had always been guilty of her own son and daughter being exploited by the Siegfred Clan. But like them, she also has no choice. Once she becomes useless, the clan will also throw her away like used garbage.

However, this was the first time her son had confronted her. Meeting those dazed, empty eyes, the second queen’s heart grips in pain. She could only avert her eyes, trying to avoid the uncomfortable feeling in her heart.

The second queen said, ”Son, you do not understand. You and I have no choice. Our backing is the Siegfred Clan, and at the same time, it’s also our chain. Unless we find a backer that is willing to give up everything to protect us like your sister’s husband, we can only comply with their commands.”

The second prince said, ”I am willing to give up all my wealth, standing, and even the name of Siegfred for freedom. Mother, can you free me?”

In the royal clan, aside from the king and the crown prince, all other princes and princesses can only follow their mother’s surname.

The second queen didn’t expect these words from her son, and she truly couldn’t believe that there was someone willing to throw away his noble status just to give him freedom. She actually wanted to fulfill her son’s request. Unfortunately, as the only heir of the Siegfred Clan, there is no way they will let Rion go.

”Son, they will not let you go,” said the second queen.

The second prince’s emotionless face became even less energetic when he heard his mother’s response. He didn’t have any hope for freedom, as he also knew that he was the only heir. But he could erase the depression that he couldn’t understand in his heart.

”Alright. I just ask out of nowhere. I’m going back to my room. Just send someone to call me if you have some kind of plan that involves me,” said the Second Prince as he prepared to leave.

His mother wanted to stop him but halted at the last minute. The painted and guilty expression of the second queen was like a mother who couldn’t even protect her own child. Her face was distorted with pain.

The ascension of the Crown Prince ended with no problem. With the support of the royal faction, His Majesty Nokto took the crown. It’s just that after he ascended, the former king lost consciousness. He is now bedridden in his own chambers, surrounded by healers and doctors. Sadly, there is nothing they can do, as this is him using up all his lifespan.

”Your Majesty, we’re sorry! There is nothing we can do to cure the former king!”

All the healers and doctors apologize to the current king, but the situation of the former king is totally beyond them. What made it worse was that even the special healing ability of the crown prince was of no use.

The king finally woke up looking so haggard and said with a hoarse voice, ”Leave us alone.”

”Xion, Wolfred, please wait outside as well,” said the current king.

The two royal knights stare at the current king, who only moves their gaze to the former king after receiving a smile from their lover, then finally come out to block the room.

After the room only had the father and son, the king looked at the current king. What the king said left the latter speechless.

The former king said, ”I know... that you are not my son.”

”...”

Greene Evergreen remained calm at these words. But at the same time, he didn’t deny the dying man’s words.

He just said, ”You are dying. Do you want to live?”

The former king hardly chuckled and answered, ”No.”

”Why?”

”I know you might have a way to heal me, but both my wife and son are waiting for me on the other side. Also, I gave you the position where you will be safe. You can freely see your friend now,” said the former king.

Cough. Cough.

Greene’s healing ability can only cease the pain, but he still chooses not to heal him. That was outside the role he possessed.

”Since when did you know?” Greene asked.

The former king answers, ”Maybe when those two knights changed completely over knight and that... you allowed them to live with you and sleep in your room.”

”I see. Do you want to ask anything?” Greene asked.

Since he can’t break the Divine Laws, but the director changed this man’s fate, answering a few questions shouldn’t be a problem.

The former king asked, ”How... did he (Nokto) die?”

”Assassination. When I took over, a blade was stuck in his chest. He was betrayed by the woman he chose to entrust his heart to,” answered Greene Evergreen.

The former king asked, ”Had he reincarnated?”

”All of the mortals who gave up their vessel to a god were guaranteed to have a good life in their next and a reincarnation. He is already there with your wife, waiting for you,” said the current king.

Chuckles~

”I guess I can’t make them wait too long for me. Will you be alright alone now?” asked the former king.

The current king was stunned for a moment before finally giving up a smile. He responds, ”Yes, thank you for everything. In your next life, they will still be your wife and your son.”

Hahaha~

The former king, with eyes losing light, said, ”That’s... a... relief.”

The biological father of the original owner of Greene’s vessel finally took his last breath. The former king was smiling in the end and left with no regrets.
