Beneath the Red Dragon

Fafnir looked at the somewhat crestfallen Nine-headed Hydra and said, ”You don’t look mighty enough now, I still like your once defiant appearance!”

”Pah pah pah,”

Hearing this, Hydra spat out colorless, non-toxic saliva from all nine heads, pouring it over the head of the Giant Demon, but it was completely blocked by the spiritual power barrier that appeared on the Giant Demon Fafnir’s body surface, unable to land on her body.

”I’m not like some fools,” the Nine-headed Hydra said furiously, ”Obviously a prisoner, a watchdog, yet still pretending to be aloof to disgust others. When it comes to the source of bloodlines, we Hydras are in no way inferior to that fool with golden scales.”

”Tch,”

The ancestral Golden Dragon Oblash stood proudly, casting a sidelong glance full of disdain, even an ordinary human could discern the contempt expressed on the dragon’s scaly cheek.

”Do you know why your future master has been brushing you off, you many-headed but brainless sub-species,”

The ancestral Golden Dragon’s body sat firmly, unmoved by the eight gales, showcasing the perfect poise of the Golden Dragon with aplomb.

Like the elegant and noble draconic cadence of the ancestral Golden Dragon, he raised his head high, his golden whiskers swaying like strands of gold as the Golden Dragon sneered, ”That’s because your master is infatuated with my demeanor,”

”Only by brushing you off, keeping you here, can she have a legitimate excuse to approach me,” the ancestral Golden Dragon Oblash proclaimed smugly.

”Ah, he’s exactly right,” Giant Demon Fafnir said with a playful smile, looking at the large, golden scales on the ancestral Golden Dragon’s body, her long, fair thumb and forefinger unable to resist gently rubbing together.

This was a habit the Ogre Giantess had developed while poring over financial records.

”Tch,”

The Nine-headed Hydra’s nine heads expressed disdain simultaneously, ”Only you males would constantly think about problems from this perspective,”

”Oh,” the Nine-headed Hydra quickly turned to look at the open hall and hurriedly said, ”Except for the great True Dragon, Lord Gogomola,”

Giant Demon Fafnir’s eyes curved like crescent moons, the Nine-headed Hydra’s behavior reminded the Ogre Giantess of herself when she was spiritedly leading the Ogre Tribe to conquer the Dragon Group and enslave its master as her spirit thrall.

”As for now,” the Ogre Giantess shook her head, she could scarcely remember much about her former days in the Ogre Tribe, her brain now filled with vast financial records.

”It seems you’ll soon regain your freedom, based on your outstanding performance,” Giant Demon Fafnir comfortingly patted one of the Nine-headed Hydra’s golden heads, then turned to walk deeper into the corridor.

Only the Nine-headed Hydra’s plaintive sighs lingered in the deep corridor.

The bridge deep in the corridor led straight to the ancestral Red Dragon’s rear garden, sealed by two doors.

One door opened to the space the Empire’s Mage Corps had developed next to the Red Dragon’s rear garden, considered its front yard, but besides various magical flowers, plants, and herb gardens growing there, it also had several fixed teleportation gate passages.

These teleportation gate passages led to the various sub-elemental planes and small material worlds developed by the Empire, including the Greenfield Forest’s world passage, which is for the exclusive use of the Dragon Group.

The Dragon Group only needs to open those gates to enter the true rear garden world of the Giant Dragons.

The teleportation passage gate to the world plane lost by the Black Dragon Lord Rosani is now tightly closed because in the world of ice and fire, the region where the original world plane coordinates existed has turned into a magic wasteland, rendering the world passage beacon ineffective.

Now many mages and scholars specializing in plane magic are maintaining the plane’s passage.

Fafnir walked through the other door into the ancestral Red Dragon’s exclusive rear garden.

This place is not often visited, and quietness reigns as the theme of this garden.

The Bloodthirsty Vines that love barking in the wind do not make a sound when beings other than the ancestral Red Dragon arrive, instead eagerly displaying their sharp tendrils, remaining highly vigilant.

However, the Ogre Giantess’s aura is evidently familiar to these Bloodthirsty Vines as well; as a slave of the ancestral Red Dragon, Giant Demon Fafnir and those maidservants can freely roam this garden.

Traversing past gardens with many precious magic plants, the Giant Demon Fafnir arrived at the center of the garden, in front of the World Tree standing atop the mountain-crest garden.

Nourished by the magical spring waters from the Greenfield Forest, the World Tree thrived vigorously and grew quickly, now over forty meters high, with a trunk over thirty meters thick and a dense canopy covering nearly half the garden.

Fafnir’s steps halted before the serene World Tree. Entering maturity, the Giantess wielded great spiritual power, perhaps in the entire Golden Empire, apart from the ancestral Red Dragon, even those great mages of the Holy Sanctuary were merely on par with the Giantess.

When the Giantess pushed the limits of her bloodline, her spiritual power’s grandeur surpassed even those great mages. Talent outweighs effort.

”Lord Owo, I am ready,” the Giant Demon Fafnir’s spiritual power fluctuated, connecting with the consciousness of the World Tree Ovo.

”Fafnir, your spiritual power is indeed pure, that knowledge took even me three days to fully grasp back then, yet you mastered it all in just two months,”
