Beneath the Red Dragon

”Giants, halt your steps, or you’ll be considered enemies of the Dragon Group,”

Blue Dragon Carlette perched atop the city peak, wings spread wide, claws intimidating, her cold, hard voice resounding like a great bell, warning the approaching Giant Species who trampled in with a rolling dust storm.

Next to her, Green Dragon Ali also landed beside Blue Dragon Carlette, standing shoulder to shoulder, baring her fangs, spreading her wings and claws.

”This is the dominion of all dragons, the land of the Golden Empire; daring to assault it is to stand against the Empire.”

Blue Dragon Carlette’s warning did not stop the giants. One-Eyed Giant Asis’s hideous face showed excitement, his single eye filled with a violent and bloodthirsty color surging fiercely.

The massive bone hammer dragged on the ground by this towering giant collided with stones, sparking along the way. At the sight of the two giant dragons, One-Eyed Giant Asis became directly exhilarated.

”Dragons, two little dragons, two arrogant and overconfident little dragons dare stand before the giants. Hahaha, let’s charge straight through, capture those Storm Giants first, and then directly break into this shabby little city,”

Asis incited the surrounding giants: ”Break into this shabby city, capture those two dragons, and we can have fun with them. I’ve never tasted the flavor of a giant dragon before!”

”Break into this city, plunder and slaughter, treat those little ones as snacks,” the One-Eyed Giant raised his White Bone Great Hammer and pointed towards the distant city.

”Break into this city, plunder and slaughter, treat these little ones as snacks,” the agitated Ancient Ogre Species first responded to the One-Eyed Giant Lord’s call.

These Ogre Species, much uglier than the Ogres within the Golden Empire, seemed to have stopped evolving over the long years, retaining their thick body hair and coarse Giant Species features.

Their skin looked like thick, cracked leather plates, teeth yellowed and blackened, protruding like their eyes, turbid and bloodthirsty.

”Capture those two dragons,” roared a Mountain Giant beside the One-Eyed Giant, ”I want that green dragon, she’s mine.”

The giants also began to clamor, striding directly toward the distant city, completely ignoring Dragon Carlette’s warning.

The One-Eyed Giant Lord Asis heard the Mountain Giant and showed slight dissatisfaction in his single eye, but before his rusty brain could decide whether to fight the Mountain Giant first or not, a vibrating hum suddenly echoed in the air.

These giants, in their advance, had already stepped within the range of Bay Stream City’s Giant Crossbows and Giant Cannons, immediately facing intense firepower strikes.

The rumbling of the Heavy Cannons and the piercing whistles of the Giant Crossbows penetrating the air sounded simultaneously. These giants and Giant Species, trapped for countless years in the Divine Forsaken Mountain Range, hadn’t even realized what was happening before they saw the attack from the tiny creatures approaching them.

Boom,

A Heavy Cannon fell directly among the Ogre group, the explosion blasting three Ancient Ogres at the bomb’s impact point into pieces. Their once formidable flesh, facing other beasts and monsters, appeared exceptionally vulnerable before the Empire’s heavy artillery.

Limbs and blood mist increased with each cannonball impact, startling the smallest but agile Ancient Ogres, slowing their steps involuntarily as they began to dodge the artillery’s impact points.

The Giant Demons, also driven by the giants, stood tall, most over two and a half meters, comparable to ordinary humanoid races. These Giant Demons, by body type, also belonged to the Giant category.

The weapons in these Giant Demons’ hands were large sticks, made from thighbones, wooden sticks, and stone sticks. Only a few spellcasters among the Giant Demons, holding their sticks high, could draw on shaman-like magic powers to defend against cannon attacks.

Some Giant Demons brandished their sticks fearlessly, trying to smash the falling cannonballs like hitting balls but with disastrous results, resulting in flying remains as the fate of these brave Giant Demons.

For the giants, these heavy cannon attacks couldn’t cause significant harm. Even the primary damage method, explosive shockwave, was useless before them.

Some giants were so peculiar they might not even have vulnerable internal organs, with their cores securely wrapped, unaffected by cannon impacts.

But the Eight-Ox Giant Crossbow and Dragon-Hunting Crossbow, with armor-piercing enchantments, their giant crossbow arrows capable of piercing the giants’ defenses directly; even a Stone Giant entirely covered and wrapped in rock would have a deep hole penetrated into its body by such arrows.

Bang,

One-Eyed Giant Asis swung his bone hammer, knocking away the oncoming giant crossbow, the collision between the crossbow and the bone hammer producing a crisp steel clash, the immense force making One-Eyed Giant Asis feel a strong vibration in his hand.

The Mountain Giant beside him roared, swinging a massive Fine Steel Pillar to swat away two crossbows, but these adult-arm-thick crossbows, with sharp crescent hooks at the tips,

When colliding, directly cutting off a small piece from the sturdy Fine Steel Pillar, then the deflected force shifted direction, slanting into the arm of a Wood Giant.
